That's not even the worst part, in order to do the rituals you'll need materials that can only be found in the chalice dungeons, some of which require repeating the same dungeon over and over.

Same here, though I caught her in the sewers on my initial playthrough of that area. After that, never saw her again. Pretty sure I missed her by moving on to other things before progressing her questline. Gonna see if I can catch her on my second pass.

I heard that there is a bug that she doesn't show up all. It happen to me.
 
Mid game (I think) area discussion:

I'm not feeling the forest. Boring rock corridors and trees here and there that are supposed to be a forest. Corridors and rooms work well within the city and tombs, but this doesn't work. Enemies so far are not in my liking. Small snakes are boring and big ones are annoying. Only cool thing so far has been the first snake head human enemy. It get's better, I hope.
 
Hmm, is a gun-only build even possible?
 
When can you start spending Insight on stuff? I see people mention an Insight bath or whatever but I cannot find it in the Hunter's dream.

Also, shall I be using Coldblood Dews every time I get them? I've kinda left them alone and have racked up a shit ton. :lol Just want to make sure they're not needed for anything else other than simply giving you extra BE's.

The audio design in this game is phenomenal. I haven't been too high on the Sony Golds but I really appreciate them for this.

You need 10 insight for the shop to work. The store is right next to Gherman.

ive been wondering about this aswell, i tore the level apart to find out and nothing. maybe its a shortcut from another area?
 
This is absurd. You guys are moving too damn fast! I'm still reading OT1, let alone OT 2, and now OT 3??

Anyway, I had a fun time this weekend, and completed the default Chalice dungeon, beat a few more bosses, and am now exploring some creepy forest. I love this game, so much. So far, it's my favorite of the Souls games I've played.
 
Yeah I really want to create a gun-only build later on...

I've been doing a good amount, so the other materials aren't a problem for me as of right now. Thankfully I looted that arcane haze extractor, too.
 
Does killing
Rom
lock me out of anything?

I read up a bit, and it seems I missed a few area's or did certain events too soon.

Once you have 10 insight you can access the insight merchant (by the house's side door).

I'd save the Coldblood Dews until you're going to level up. If you use them the moment you pick them up, but die, they might be wasted if you fail to recover your echoes.

What if you pump all your stats into Bloodtinge and constantly use your own blood for bullets? I noticed that when you do that, you can still Regain, so maybe a gunslinger build could abuse that to keep a steady flow of ammo going.
 
This game....oh damn, this game! So good.

, do I go to the door with the password? Will it be open? Just not sure where to go now.

Also, I missed
Eileen at the Cath Ward, but she was in the Father G area and I helped her kill Henryk. I have been reading and it says if you miss one of her steps she will attack you later. Can anyone confirm?

Tips for Rom:

Kill the first batch of spiders, since he does't use his AoE yet. Attack Rom until he dissapears. Now, for the AoE attacks: I found the ones that come up from the ground is easily avoided simply by running sideways. The ones from the sky seems easy to miss if you move TOWARDS him. Run and roll like a motherfucker towards him when these appear.

Lure the spiders towards you, then storm and attack him for a few times (until you think the small spiders are too close), then run away again.

Rinse and repeat. Got him the first time I tried this tactic
 
at the top of the tower through the right hand door at Cathedral Ward - the door doesn't open. Do I need to do something first?

When you start from the cathedral ward lamp and follow up the stairs, the is at one point a small way to the right (like a shortcut) to the main stairs leading to VA. From there you can get on the roofs of the houses by the stairs. Not the best describption but it's rather easy to find.I assume all the gates leading to VA are open.
