Ok no tips for Amelia needed as it turns out. I went back for another shot and had her as a whimpering mess in the corner without hardly a chance to swing at me.

I recommend Portal - Vexovoid as matching the mood.

Frankly, I'm amazed that I haven't seen any major reviewer or critic point out how much the aesthetics of this game are seemingly drawing on death metal and black metal album cover art. There's a chalice dungeon boss that is straight up a generic satanic war metal band mascot
goat-demon
. The lead up to Witches Abode feels like I'm running through a Dan Seagrave painting.

Even the staff and crew shirts with the b&w line art of the Cleric Beast and Bloodborne logo at the top look straight up like band shirts from when I was seeing demo level death metal bands down on the jersey shore in '92. It's uncanny if it's not intentional.

The ultimate Lovecraftian band for the best Lovecraft inspired game I've played yet.

I would imagine you are correct. All of the Souls games have had that aesthetic but BB pushes it farther than ever before. Switching to full Horror has much to do with it. I actually dropped my controller in my lap when I entered the village and saw the things on the buildings and thought to myself "this is the greatest album cover EVER"

The person you met is Yurt aka this installments local town murderer. You did the right thing by killing him there. If you listen to his bullshit he'll start killing off people at the chapel

Yea I figured he was the new Yurt/Lautrec. We couldn't figure out why Arianna was dead in my friend's game, then I noticed he had this dude laying on his floor. I figured it was because of him.

This game....oh damn, this game! So good.

So after killing
The Witch of Hemwick
, do I go to the door with the password? Will it be open? Just not sure where to go now.

Also, I missed
Eileen at the Cath Ward, but she was in the Father G area and I helped her kill Henryk. I have been reading and it says if you miss one of her steps she will attack you later. Can anyone confirm?

You need to kill V
icar
A
melia
for the password to the door.

Yeah they are all easy to get, and you
can basically choose which one you want, based on choice at the end and whether you use some particular items or not

Thanks. I've probably missed some rare weapon from the beginning now or something anyway so I won't be able to get Platinum in one run.

Listening to (Don't Fear) The Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult while playing
Thanks Spotify ! ^^

I can't imagine ever playing this without it's original soundtrack. It would be totally immersion-breaking, especially when Spotify throws in an ad every couple of songs if you're on the free plan.

Just finished The
Witch
of
Hemwick
.

What an easy boss. The enemies leading up the boss place are ten times harder.
Does the boss even do anything besides shooting those missiles a few times? It never did any damage to me, and those mob enemies were a cake walk.

I also tried coop in a chalice dungeon. We got to the first boss and defeated him, and then the coop session ended.. I understand why it happens in the story campaign, but why do it in the dungeon. Now we cant coop any further untill my coop partner play through the exact same part again in his dungeon...

oops missed the new thread so ill ask here

Killed the witch, and i am now in the poison swamp area
How much longer is the main game? I don't want it to end!

Also I made it back the clinic! Ioseka is not a nice person :/ And i send people to her
now I don't feel bad for
sending that crazy tranforming guy to the clinic!

That boss has a spell that
immobilizes you, so if it summoned a lot of minions you'd be fucked. And the boss also does an AOE blast.

Question about one NPC

I sent the cannibal to the cathedral, will I lost something if he murder the other npc? Should I kill him ASAP there? ty

Man, I keep getting totally turned around here. Can anyone give me a breakdown on the route from the shortcut to (optional late area boss)
Martyr Logarius?

He kills Arianna (the whore). She can give you a pretty great item that you'll need if you want to fight a hidden boss. You can get this item elsewhere, however.

No respec.

Ok, so I'm trying to get spoiled as little as possible.

I went to the area where the "invitation" item sends you.

I feel like I've explored it all, but there was no boss. The last new area was simply a rooftop with a "knight wig", and I see no other places to go in the general area, anyone got any ideas?

check out the roof again.

From the lamp, head to the building on your right, up the elevator. Head to the left, zig zagging in between all the ghosts in order to avoid the darts from the librarian on the staircase. Kill the librarian REALLY fast so you don't get swarmed by ghosts, then run to the ladder. If you're on the librarian's little staircase, the ladder is directly forward of where you're facing. Head up the ladder, go straight and to the right and out the door. Run up the roof, head to the right and drop off one level, then circle around the spire. Drop to the next level of roof, around the next spire, then drop to the bridge. Up the ladder, then the boss fog is on the right.

What's the best way to fight NPC Hunters? I ran into one in the area where I fought Father G. He killed another Hunter then wrecked me up. Ignoring that guy I also am having trouble with the gattling gun guy and a couple other Hunters I've run into. I don't seem to be doing any damage even with a very high skill and upgraded (+5 I think) Threaded Cane and die almost instantly from their attacks. I probably just need to learn when to use my guns to stagger them, but I can't find the timing. I've always been utter crap at parrying in Souls games.

How many bosses have you defeated?

Explore the last area you mentioned more.

So I'm pretty much at the end of the game. I'm avoiding fighting the last boss as I want to do everything else that I can first.

I was wondering, if I wanted to co-op with a friend on an optional boss like
darkbeast paarl
after completing the areas main boss, is that possible? Or will the beckoning bell be grayed out?

Oh man thanks a bunch. Couldn't find that dang ladder. I killed every enemy in there three times looking for it. Thanks!

I'm going with the Muhammad Ali build. Endurance (Float like a butterfly), then Strength (Sting like a bee), and then Vitality (rope-a-dope). Still rocking Saw Clever +6.

While I love that soundtrack, I feel that listening to anything else but Bloodborne's own soundtrack and sound effects would ruin the awesome (and creepy) atmosphere for me. I don't know how some of you guys can do it.

This.

There are certain games which I love to play with my own music on. Like GTA or Assassin's Creed. Games you can just be brainless about while playing, not needing to get immersed, and rocking to your own tunes.

For me, Bloodborne isn't one of them. A significant chunk of the game's whole appeal is the cohesive, oppressive aesthetic.

... But I might feel differently by NG++, if I ever get that far. By that stage I can imagine ones own soundtrack might really enhance the experience.

These NPCS Hunters are pretty tough. I'm also a skill build and using the cane +6. Honestly, parrying and doing a visceral attack has been the best way to damage these guys. Just keep practicing the timing. I was able to stun lock one hunter. You can also try poison knives.

Yea she will, I met her in
the great cathedral
and she came at me.

How do I proceed through the un
seen village everything respawns and there's like a huge group of those cleaver ladies
I'm stuck at the bit where
the big tentacle thing is shooting a huge laser while I fight
, pretty early in this stage actually

Right before Vicar Amelia, there's an item I don't know how to get. It is up on a balcony at the right of the stairway. Anyone?
There lift in cathedral ward you have to face the opposite way you go in and just keep pressing toward when you go up. You'll go through a secret window. There's a rune there as well

LOL I finally beat V
icar
A
melia
and saved the clip to my PS4 I was so hyped. I'm pretty sure it was my 37th try, might be wrong. Just as close a battle as the last like...4 times. Got her to like...25% and started playing TOTALLY DEFENSIVE til
she started healing
dropped a Fire Paper and hit her til she interrupted and then went for the kill. God that was so satisfying.

That being said, is there a point to her
medallion other than turning it into a Blood Gem?
Don't wanna use it if it can be used elsewhere.

Looks like my second boss will be the
Blood-starved Beast.
Didn't even notice the poison meter before it was too late, lol.

When I finally beat it I was poisoned and forgot, and right after I finished killing it I was celebrating for a minute and then dropped dead haha
