haven't seen anyone mention it.

From the looks of it it isn't a usable weapon as the achivement pops without it but it's a From soft game so has to be there somewhere right? Like held by an enemy or something? Isn't it their thing to include it in every game?

Concerning an NPC killing another...
When does the nun kill the whore? I don't want that to happen, but I saved the whore, accepted her blood, and consumed the item before saving the nun. I heard that is the trigger, but after saving the nun, zoning a few times, and accepting/consuming the nun's blood nothing has happened. Does that event happen after killing Rom or am all in the clear? I don't want to miss furthering the whore's quest line and wonder if I should kill the nun or if it is safe to progress.

Never heard of this
Anyone?

Obviously people that have already beaten it are better at the game, so the average time will inevitably go up over time. But I just know that it took me 23 hours, and I don't even consider myself a great Souls player. I beat the game on the second day and I wasn't even rushing to do so.
I don't see how anyone can think this game is shorter than demons souls

Been in the
unseen village
for about a day now. is it me or has the difficulty just spiked like crazy? I'm level 73, should I go level up somewhere? :/

I have a bunch of items I got as drops from boss fights that I haven't used yet. For example the
Gold Pendant you get from defeating Vicar Amelie.
A friend told me not to use it yet since it could be part of a sidequest, which makes sense. I've progressed far since that fight and still have all these items. Should I just use them?

You put 23 hours into a game in the span of 2 days and wasn't rushing it... uh huh.

Supposedly that area scales to you, or so I've been told. I can't confirm this though. But I had difficulty with it too at higher levels

length isn't a huge factor cuz it depends on how good you are in this game and if you're willing to hunt everything. i could've finished the game already but i'm doing the optional areas/bosses and it's taking some time because of the difficulty.

So honestly, the world structure is closer to Dark Souls 2 than Dark Souls 1 right?

Not even remotely close to true. The entire game world is interconnected as far as I can tell, other than an optional area or two. Feels nothing like Dark Souls 2 at all.

So, I've reached the end but there's one thing that's been bugging me for a long time now and I haven't found the answer yet.

You know, in the C
athedral
W
ard
, there's
a locked door underground near the chest located after the big dude with the wrecking ball. Any way to get on the other side of that? :x

Even if there's nothing valuable, I want to go in there :D

I was playing it a lot, sure. I mean I wasn't rushing to get to the end. I spent considerable amounts of time being lost, grinding for souls and vials, and exploring every inch of the levels.

I'm 41+ hours in and have so much left to do and I've got easily 500 hours of Souls under my belt. I can't figure out how people are beating this in under 40 without rushing. Did you ignore the chalices?

You are missing the best game in the series pre BB.

Oh. I have like, 90 insight. So I've been making the game harder for myself without noticing. Great.

People don't know for sure. We do know after 15 it causes some enemies to have new abilities. It also seems to do more things the higher it goes

Its actually a harder fight coop IMO. Ignore spiders, two hand wep, rush his butt and charge r2 attack. Keep doing that while moving a lot. When the meteors start falling, change direction a lot.
It's just a really annoying fight. I've killed spiders and not killed spiders. No matter what something OHKs me every time.

I beat the game in 32 hours and did every optional area.

Did you actively search for those areas or used the internet? I'm clicking in more than 30 hours doing a blind playthrough and I have yet to do
Iosefka, Yahargul, or any of the Nightmare places. I've only done 1 Chalice Dungeon as well
. I guess some people are just very good at this type of games.

Okay. I got to Rom, and he was the first boss to make me burn through my reserve of Vials. I only have two Bolt Papers and I stepped away for a little to think about this.

Anyone wanna help out a fellow hunter? I'm in old yharnam, still trying to beat blood starved beast :(

I rang my bell on the steps of cathedral just outside the spawn location.

I had to look up where to get the key for
Upper Cathedral Ward
but I found the rest naturally.

That was without really touching Chalice dungeons though.

Lol beat
Gerhman only to find out I have to fight Moon Presence right after with no Blood Vials.
Sweet.

Many people die to it on purpose anyway to
buy the scythe before ng+
