If someone could put youtube links to some of the following boss themes, that'd be great:

Host of Nightmare

Witch of Hemlock

Shadow of Yarnham

Thanks. The recommendation should be DON'T buy the key. 10,000 souls is a lot early on: it's ~20 health packs, or ~2 levels basically.

I helped beating BSB probably 10+ times, so I had enough to buy the key :3
(and went the other way to open the gate anyway...
>_>

Last night's progress

-First part of the U
nseen
V
illage
.
That place fucking sucked. First tried killing enemies, but the whole respawn thing was stupid as hell and just getting me killed. So ran like a little girl, found the upper ward key and another latern, and opened the door that brought you back to an old now broken latern. Then 3 npcs jumped me
-Took a break from that and went to U
pper
C
athedral
W
ard
.
Breezed through that place and opened up the first shortcut. The wolves were fun atleast, lot more interesting than unseen village. Think I'll continue this one first.
-Helped quite a few people at the CH boss.
-Farmed souls for the CH armor set and a mess of potions.

The lore and themes of this game are so much darker and bleak compared to Dark Souls 1 and 2.

I'm pretty much running past every enemy in
Yahar'gul
.

If and when I beat
The One Reborn
I'm pretty much done with that area and its
respawing shit, right?

So in the very first level you come across a door that has
2 laughing women
in it. Every time I go back they just say the same thing. I'm up to AV and have beat first 3 bosses and the
witches
. When do u need to go talk to them again?

You think? I guess it depends on the perspective, or maybe I'm not far enough. I don't think it can get much more depressing than Dark Souls' central theme.

More fucked up stuff happens to NPCs I guess? Or at least more disturbing. I'd argue that losing your humanity and going hollow is worse than
being turned into a weird eye monster or even getting eaten by a pig or giving birth to a gross slug or whatever
, if only because that kind of stuff really happens with neurological diseases and stuff. And you can ignore the existence of
aliens and bloodlust or lack of control or whatever
, but you can't avoid time. Every good thing you've ever experienced will be gone forever at some point down the road.

Both are great though :)

Run past everything until you find the Bell Maiden. Kill her, and everything becomes easy. There's 3 in the first area. The one for all the crazy bitches and the laser beam monster is hidden. Gotta drop off a ledge on the right side of that terrace.

There's a second armor set there but you get it another way. Look it up. I think that's what you were referring to. :)
The
Executioner
set? I'm not sure, but that one also might've been missing headwear.

I also
joined the Vilebloods
. Perhaps I can buy something new to wear now, as a result.

Oh, and of course,
there's the crown.

Man, Cainhurst Castle is amazing.

Ok, I forgot there was a third set lol

The story in Bloodborne is indeed pretty dark. That being said, most of the NPCs seem to be having good times in their houses, so in that respect, it is a bit more upbeat than the Souls series. No partying in the Souls series. :-P

Oh, OK, that sounds familiar. I think I found the wig, but I didn't realize it was part of the same set. Was expecting a DS1-style helmet. Wig sounds awesome, though. We be aristocrats now!

And yes, I was aware of what Ophelia means, although not how apt it would become. :-) I chose the name primarily because of Hamlet and, more recently, Pan's Labyrinth (where it's spelled Ofelia, being Spanish and all).

My main character looks decidedly middle class. He looks like a complete idiot in the wig. I usually pair the knight set with the Yharnam Hunter's set helm (the tri-corner hat with the mask deal. Very Brotherhood of the Wolf (a movie that almost certainly influenced the art direction of this game.)

I admit, I stole someone's idea on here to use Johnathan Harker of Dracula fame's last name as a first. Combined that with the actual last name of the villain in the first RDJ Sherlock Holmes movie and named him Harker Blackwood.

Harker Blackwood, the Beast of Yharnam. He's a scary dude. He could kill Cthulhu with nothing but a shotgun and an axe. Don't mess with that guy.

I'm going to this place next, and I'm glad I know about this. Once the bell maidens are down, they don't come back, right? Even when you re-awaken in that area?

Haha, I love all of this so much. :-D

actually not the foggiest what to do anywhere

Okay, I need someone's help clearing this area. Im level 62 and just been stuck here for hours now and just want to get past it.

Its the area right before the One Reborn fight, where the lady is ringing the bell. I cant beat it. Ive done it slow and methodical, Ive done it agressive, but something usually gets a hit on me, and its the stun-stun-stun-dead dance.

If you can assist, let me know. Ill set up the password and be ringing the bell right outside the gates to the place.

Also I realised I am a HORRID HORRID MAN
forgot to go back to the place with the crying nun downstairs and speak to her before the place went to shit after killing Rom

It was the easiest boss for me by far (you even have time to manage your inventory lol). Once you get rid of the
Bell Maidens
, put on good Arcane Resistance armor and just hack at him. It'll take a while, but he's not fast. Keep some blood vials I guess.

I could've beaten the game easily two days ago, but am dragging my feet. Don't want it to end.

Yes, I know, NG+ and Chalice dungeons, but eh.....

lmao. This is great.

If you missed her quest stuff,
check the grand cathedral where you fought Amelia, she should be in there

I missed her in the sewers but she's not showing up in the
Cathedral.
I'm at
R
om but haven't killed it yet. Is it too late?

He's one of the bosses I'll be fighting next (after Paarl). What armor has good arcane resistance? Maybe that white church outfit?

your only option
is to fight her as an enemy at the cathedral after killing Rom. You are too late for the beginning of the quest
