23 hours and 47 minutes.

Only 3 bosses down. Tell me I'm not alone :(

Guys I'm really worried about my characters build, I feel I'm under leveled/screwed something up. This is my first "souls" game.

Vitality- 30
Endurance- 27
Strength-17
Skill-10
Bloodstinge-7
Arcane-7

I'm at level 48, use a +5 saw cleaver as my main weapon if that helps. By the way, what is the level cap of the game?

Ok, I think I'm stuck. I hope I am, anyway.
Basically, i've killed the 6th boss,
the giant spider thing.
Now I have to go to the 7th. I've teleported to the Village with those giant things stuck to the wall. Am I in the right place? I have managed to reach the place where I have been imprisoned, but only by running away from most of the battles. Tell me I'm not in the right place... If I am, what's your advice? How do I approach enemies that respawn every 20 seconds? Should I go back and level up (now I'm at 50).

Welcome to hell, this is where you are supposed to be, the most frustrating stage of all time in Bloodborne

Is there any significance in walking up to and listening to NPCs at doors and windows? Do you get something out of it besides the cute excerpts/dialogue.

This area is the worst one yet, both for the enemies (reskinned) and the difficulty, waaay too high.

You're in the right place. You need to
find the bell maiden that's tied to each group of mobs. That's what's giving them a buff and making them respawn.

I tried a Chalice Dungeon and all I got were more materials to make other Chalice Dungeons.

this is common in the 'base' dungeons. They are not randomized and are basically just there for you to unlock more chalice dungeons. The root dungeons are randomized and will have more interesting loot. They'll still have some dungeon material, but a lot more cool stuff like gems or runes. Or uncanny/lost versions of weapons, although I haven't found one of those in my own created dungeons yet.

Fortunately the code sharing threads on reddit/gamefaqs have almost everything you could want, unfortunately it feels like all the Lost weapons are only found in the super advanced dungeons. I really want a Lost Ludwig's...

Somone please help me with the Eileen the Crow quest!

I've just encountered her in Cathedral Ward, and she tould me about the hunter in the Odeon Tumb! She said that she's gonna kill the guy, so I should not go there!

Thing is... the guide says:

  • Make sure to Talk to Eileen again after opening the gate and then re-load the area before going to the Tomb of Oedon or Eileen will not be there.
  • The next step is to help with hunter encounter at Tomb of Oedon lamp to receive "Approval" Gesture.

I've came back to Hunter's Dream and then reloaded the Cathredal Ward, but she's still in the same place, and the hunter in Odeon is there alone.

What I need to do? Should I kill him, or she needs to be there?

Basically the first NPC you talked at the window who gives plenty of dialogue on where to go and such will eventually give you the Flamesprayer after beating
Father Gascoigne

Fuck! I see D
arkbeast Paarl
ahead. Time to go to the Spotify app and play Rules of Nature!

If you're ever holding onto that many echoes, and you lose them, you deserve it :D
I once lost 900k in Dark Souls. I went on a virtual killing spree after that.

ok good, you got it already (edited my previous post, it's not that amazing, but still pretty cool).

have you been captured before? it might help recognizing this place, if you explored it earlier.
but basically go outside, one way leads to a dead end and the other one to the boss. you can find the path to paarl in the cells somewhere underneath those chapel/stairs.
I got in the right way meaning I
used the Tonsil Stone. Bagmen disappeared after killing Rom.

Warp to the Central Yarnham lamp and walk to Oedon.

You need more points in Strength and Skill. You probably aren't doing as much damage as you should be.

I can't beat
Watch dog in lvl 2 of defiled chalice dungeon. Is anyone around level 145 able to help?

I just beat him.

He's pretty easy aside from his one shot charge attack. Just hit his head after a bite attack. You can easily tell when it's safe to attack after every one of his attacks. Only have to watch out for his charge and it's done.

Sedatives, low insight, high frenzy resistant armor, & frenzy resistant rune.
Hmm, ok. Seems like it builds up really fast even for that, but I'll give it another shot.

Beginner's Guide to Starting Chalice Dungeons
NIce! While we're at it, Let me call attention, once again, to my own version of this:

So, You're Going To Start Chalicing (item name and location spoilers).
Thanks for these. Just to clarify, can you coop in the non-root chalice at all?

I received the approval gesture by mistake, when I was backtracking from Central Yaharn at night all the way to Gascoigne fight. So I guess you should go to the tomb.

*Still* can't beat
Amygdala
in Defiled Chalice layer 3.
Can get its health down to 30% no problem (though it takes like 30 minutes), but then it reks me. Very hard to get hits in.

Sometimes quest and items are tied to the conversations, I'd always exhaust dialogue when you see one.

Wow, ok. So they do help. I have fun listening but haven't really gotten anything from them yet. I'm on the
Amelia
fight now and was just trudging through different zones now to get some vials and bullets. I'll have to go back to the very first NPC, then.

Thanks guys.

You may want to stop lvling vit for a while and concentrate on your dmg stats strength and skill. Maybe get endurance to 30 as well.

The level cap is getting all stats to 99, so no worries about that. The only other cap is usually decided among the community for coop and pvp since only people within a certain lvl range can play together. In the other two miyazaki games that range was 10 lvls+ 10%. No clue if it's the same here.

I'll try to restart the game.

This area is the worst one yet, both for the enemies (reskinned) and the difficulty, waaay too high.

Here's how you get through this area:
Run through the first group of enemies down the stairs and go right. In the next area fall off the staircase and continue running past the enemies. Go over the bridge on your right. Turn right when coming off the bridge and go down the small staircase. Immediately to your right is a ledge you can drop down. Go in there and kill the woman ringing the bell (also drop down and pick up item from inside the cage). Now go back out and run back to the area where you dropped from the ledge. You should now be able to kill all the enemies and they won't respawn. You can take your time now. After everything is dead, there will be one guy left throwing molotovs at you near the laser. Pay attention to the fact that he isn't getting killed by the laser ;-)

Start putting points in strength and skill, your Vit and Endurance is fine for now. Also there is no level cap but the stats have a hard cap (40 for Endurance, 50 for the rest).

Your build is fine, no wasted points. Keep upgrading your saw cleaver for damage and put more points into strength if you feel you the need. Saw cleaver scales at C stre when +8.

Thanks for these. Spoiler is about the first boss you have listed.
I'm still wondering what the heck they were thinking in that Micolash fight. Micolash's boss theme is honestly one of my favorite in the game, and it annoyed me a bit that a track like that was wasted... on that. Running around the arena nonstop having to chase him just to get a single hit in for the whole fight made it tedious, and he barely even attacks and had like 1 move. I'm wondering if my game was bugged or something during that fight, just seems weird. I did beat Ebrietas though during the same period of play and she had all her moves so I don't think it was the glitch where after waking up from rest bosses only use 1 move.

Shouldnt take so long to get him to 30%, stay mid range from him to bait out more heavy attacks which can be punished. When he goes into final stage it takes quite a while to finish him by using the normal head strategy, but you can just attack the end of his tail till he jumps in the air and repeat.

+5 Saw Cleaver. What do you mean by scaling? I just beat the 4th boss btw, Amelia Vicar.

oh, lower right shows the letter grade for scaling. basically, if you pump more points into STR or SKILL etc, you'll get bonus dmg. the +numbers next to the normal attack dmg. it's a huge increase in this game.

Do the chalice dungeons go up in difficulty (normal/random) when you go NG+? Those are the only things left for me before going to the final boss.

this second depth of the first chalice is already a noticiable step up. not that Im not one shotting enemies, but theres poison fuckers everywhere and shit, I cant imagine how the later ones are.

For those sleeping on the chalice dungeons...dont. This is not just a silly little endless mode, this is proper content. Its not even random like we thought months ago (although you can make special random ones), there is a proper path of progression through them. Very cool stuff
