I loved Forbidden Woods and Y'Arghul but everyone else seemed to hate it. I wish NoM was a little less full on in difficulty as I'd really like to appreciate the atmosphere but I'm too busy sprinting past the frenzy window.

met her (in my two playthtoughs), and there has never been anyone in the grand cathedral at any point of the game. There must be some other condition to get her to spawn there.

It's arcane. Get the student clothes from the chest to the right of his boss door.

Edit: here is how I best Rom. I heard he was weak to bolt. The video is quite boring for 3 mins, I like to kill the little spiders.

I think someone said its 10 levels + 10%.

It is, but the other way for the math. As in, a 110 can play with a (110+11+10)=131 or (110-11-10)= 89
so an 89-121.
As opposed to 88-132

I dodge between its legs and get a hit in, but the camera goes so nuts that I get hit by the AOE most of the times.

I struggled with him for a while before I realised if you just sprint and weave, the rockets don't hit you. Don't try to dodge or roll past them.

Just started playing this morning. I haven't encountered the Cleric boss yet, but I have found 2 insight in my wandering around. If I pop one of those, will the doll awaken or is it only done through that first boss fight?

Also... for that boss fight, should I upgrade my Ax? Or is it ok to go in with it unleveled. Thinking I'll just need to make sure I have max vials and plenty of molotovs.

Get a few hits in and just get behind them. They power up but giving you a shitload of time to charge and R2 and visceral attack them next.

Also, I just unlocked that shortcut near the lamp in the woods! Thank god! That took me too damn long and I was stacking more then 40k blood echoes!

I duped 99 insight for a guy the other day and the doll was there before I ever reached CB, but I don't know how much insight specifically is needed since I ate all 99 madman skulls at once.
e: Always upgrade your weapons when you can, but you don't have to farm for upgrades specifically. I would explore more if you don't have 3x blood shards already.

Pistol, saw cleaver and I don't know what clothes I have on. I'm lvl 44 with most of it in STR and END and very little health. I need to get the clothes someone mentioned.... I did find that white suit with lots of resistance but I haven't used it.

I think the thing I most love about this game currently is, even though I have now got to a point where I feel confident with the enemies near the start of the game - Which is a big jump from getting killed repeatedly -If I am a little careless or rushed, they can still hand me my ass on a plate.

and even that's still leagues beyond the end-game areas of Dark Souls. The level design in this game is master class.

Woods was my favorite area in the game. I mainly got irked by the last two but there's been far worse in Souls.
