Ah yes, I remember now.
However, I don't believe I've ever gotten the cathedral ward elevator door to open prior to the defeat of Vicar Amelia (which requires entry into the Cathedral lol).
What is the trigger to open the elevator door?

In my NG+ it was opened after I beat blood starved beast, so I guess you have to go that route if you want to skip the key.

Rom was the fight I think I enjoyed the most, it was the most well paced fight for me. What you do is
clear enough spiders to be able to dart in and out and slap Roms sides, you don't need to clear all of the spiders. And especially in phase 2/3 you can't afford to with Rom slinging projectiles. The fight is mostly dancing around Rom to spread out the spiders, darting in for a few attacks, and back out.

What if I told you
I killed 0 spiders
. hahah
I thought it was the best way to do it ... preeeeetty tough.

The presentation, fight and cutscene makes it one of my favorites too.

Do you get a different trophy
if you choose different options with the final boss? First time I did consumed the cords and got the childhood trophy, are there seperate ones for not eating them and for accepting Gehrman's deal?

Where should I farm blood vials? Ideally somewhere where I'm also getting Quicksilver and Echoes. Vials are already 540 freaking echoes for me.

I am up to Rom, btw. That fight sucks.

I know someone suggested Hemwick but personally I like the following route:

Start at great bridge
-> kill the two werewolves (3 each)
-> go through the darkened house, kill them (maybe some vials, 4 bullets)
-> go outside, kill the two big guys with bricks (4 more vials)
-> down the elevator and across the bridge (more vials)
-> up the stairs towards Father G, kill the two beasts facing away from you (4 vials)
-> port out from Father G's lantern and repeat as necessary.

It's a very easy route if you're decently leveled up, kinda peaceful and relaxing, and usually nets around 20 vials. Blood echoes are negligible but so is the effort, so it's up to you really.

2-3 runs of this and you should be set for another 10 or so attempts at any given boss.

Anyone having an issue with Co-Op today? I'm in the
Unseen Chapel
and so is a friend and trying to coop. And what usually takes 5 minutes is just not connecting.

Oh man, I just hilariously wrecked
Logarius
something fierce in NG+ with the Cannon. Took off his HP so fast that
he couldn't even do his spells, just immediately got him down past 75% and under 50% with all 4 shots.
Then killed him entirely with Parry + Visceral Attacks.

I love Cannons.

It's actually faster to do it reverse, if you start at Father G you can get the brick dude by the ball to almost kill himself and the ball rolls down killing all the guys on the bridge while you finish those 2 off.

After beating the game I just found out that the opening cinematic that plays before the title screen never plays for me... I'm assuming it's a problem with the digital version? Anyone else have this problem?

So he can be parried aftwr enraged?

Mid/late game spoilers

I think my favorite NPC by far is
The old lady that you send to Odeon Chapel.
Telling her about your
woes cracked me up. Was like 'I've seen some shit'

Also she basically
just becomes a smack dealer, slanging 'sedatives' lol. Was sad when I found her dead. I wonder what happened? Did she wander outside? Thats where her body was. Or did she maybe take too much of her own medicine? Wouldn't blame her in that world. Or thinking about it now did i do something wrong and you can keep her alive? I missed Yurtbeast first time so maybe he got her?

You are correct. Bad ending for accepting and normal ending for just refusing without eating the cords

Don't fight the minions. Just focus on Rom. It's more fun and effective that way.

Thanks for the tips. I guess I'll try
not clearing every spider and circling around to spread the spiders out, then dashing in.

Level 57 is plenty high, right?

I'm still in NG. How much do you need to upgrade the cannon to start wrecking shit?

This game is so good guys, best game on ps4 by far so far. 2015 is going to be great with this kicking it off and then the Witcher, mortal kombat, and metal gear solid 5!

Just completed a 1 depth Pthumerian chalice dungeon, and scored an Uncanny Saw Cleaver. I'm starting to really like the chalice dungeon mechanic!

So
Frenzy... I'm in Nightmare Frontier and can't even approach this brain headed tall enemy because the frenzy fucks me too fast. I've tried popping sedatives but they're not really helping.
How do you approach enemies with this mechanic?

Yeah, that level will be fine. It's more about spacing. I didn't use bolt paper but I hear that helps A LOT. Applies electrical power to your weapon, which is Rom's weakness. I think you may have some in your inventory at that point.

At any rate, just run in, hit Rom a couple times, and roll out. Don't attack the minions, but constantly zigzag and roll in and out to avoid them.

When Rom rolls on his back, he's doing his energy attack where energy comes out of the ground. Hug him tight and it'll miss you.

When he flops up, he's going to rain down meteors. If you lock onto Rom, you can keep dodging left or right to avoid all of the meteors (or at least most of them).

Pop a sedative and get a couple hits in, after that keep repeating until it's dead. I just run from them while popping sedatives every time the bar gets close to full.

I tend to rush them,
dodge their first grab then just R1 them down. If I'm at under 80% HP use a vial before Frenzy meter maxes, then 2 more vials after.

But I'm a sissy and always run high HP builds ;p.

I've unlocked the first chalice dungeon using the chalice found on the
Blood-Soaked Beast
, but haven't really bothered to try them. Is it worthwhile?
YEes of course! Do these early one early or you will have to suffer later going through the preliminary stuff and get low level loot.
Dammit guys. Any Vicar Amelia tips?

Yeah make sure to stay on her ass as mentioned but keep swinging..stamina upgrade if you cant be relentless.

The Doll costume (sans the TERRIBLE looking skirt) is the cutest!

Too bad the stat is really rubbish, sigh.
The way you reach the place where that costume is found is so amazing to me.
You can hardly see that door in the darkness, perched on its ledge halfway down the tower.

went back to check on some NPCs and...

got Alfred's weapon from doing that little quest altho i wasn't able to properly complete his sidequest. maybe in NG+.

found the
sister of the little girl died and i got the ribbon back.
sad little sidequest.

also checked on
the old guy in wheelchair at Moonside Lake
and he does the exact same thing even after you beat the boss. i decided to just gank him and get his rune, lol
