finally we get another nice barry and dad moment. loved the scene after he rescued him.
trickster was fantastic, heard joker a lot in it tho but whatever it makes for a really entertaining character in any setting.
aside from reverse flash he's easily the best villain they've had.

So Barry's fast enough to dodge a bomb explosion, a lightning bolt, and phase through matter, but he's not fast enough to dodge the Trickster's son slapping a bomb on his wrist.

Flash knew all of those things were coming, he was simply surprised by the wrist bomb. He doesn't have spider-sense - if he did, he'd basically be unstoppable.

Well most of the metahumans aren't exactly smart, they're just people with powers. Barry out-powers them and wins. The non-metahumans so far have in general been smarter and are more about having an actual plan, so that's tougher for Barry to just run in and solve the problem.
I would say Weather Wizard seemed pretty smart and gave Barry trouble too...It's just that without advance knowledge of where he was Barry was able to get the jump on him before he could do anything.

Maybe he subconsciously underestimates regular non-powered humans thus he's not always on alert and ready to move at super-speed like he would be when dealing with someone who can shoot lightning or turn into gas
