You should be able to equip it. It has no stat requirements. (I think only weapons do in Bloodborne.) Make sure you're choosing the empty squares under the "Attire" row (right below the weapons) when you press the OPTIONS button.

Press the option button, the slots below your weapons slots are for your armor. Select a slot and press X. Highlight what you want to equip and press X again. Use L2 and R2 to cycle between the other armor slots and repeat.

Thanks Guys!

Am too wondering if there's a way to not be in NG+ once the game is beaten? Just got the "good" ending and have some bosses left to beat but not really feeling like playing the whole game again to face them.

Also, I had a chalice dungeon going in the regular play and it looks like it carried over. Will that be harder as well or is it set to it's own difficulty?

Rom discussion:

I don't know. I am pretty sure the ice chunks did home on me on some tries. If not home, then by very least I am 99% sure they were projected to hit me where I would be. At some times I was running a circle around, or at a tangent to the boss and they hit me. Or I would start rolling into one direction before they hit and they first ones would miss and the latter ones would hit.

Not sure if it's connected to my insight levels. When I started I had 15+, but I did lose some insight a few times to the sucka outside when farming echoes for more vials (pretty careless I know, that's what frustration does to you). And when did I beat Rom, I had less than 10 insight.

Also, staying close to the boss seemed to be the way I beat it, and it helps alot with the ice chunks.

But yeah, I am not calling anyone a liar here. Just an interesting thing, this boss and how for some it's the easiest ever and for some it's very very hard.

Man I really hate
Rom
just due to the huge amounts of RNG with the adds, sometimes they sit around doing nothing, other times they all decide to headbutt you at the same time when you can't see them.

From my fight with him, the ice rocks were landing AROUND me, so if I rolled around, there is a chance they would hit me..

Chalice dungeons don't scale to NG+.

one thing i dont like about bloodborne is that most of the bosses became absolute jokes when facing 2 players. 1 on 1 they are tough, fights are intense. 2 on 1 its like night and day. Co-op completely trivialized a lot of hard bosses.

I definitely never found a consistent way to dodge them due to their semi-homing nature. What worked once didn't work the other time. Sometimes I'd get hit twice by them while still hugging his body. It was the luck of the draw for me.

The AI almost seems confused the more people are there at once. I got summoned along with someone else for VA and it pretty much just looked at us and wasn't sure what to do.

Thinking I'mma have to farm a whole lot of vials for the final/second to last boss

Fun fight though! I can see this one being one of my favorites even if just for the atmosphere and music.

Loadtimes aren't counted in the play time right? Wondering how much of the 27 hours it took to beat the game was BLOODBORNE

I just beat
The Reborn One(I think that was his name, lol)
how far in am I?
Hard to say given how much of the game is optional. You're very close to the end of the game's mandatory content though. One more main area.

Can't believe it but I've spent over 2hrs on the
blood starved beast

Never giving up!
Throw a Pungent Blood Cocktail. It'll ignore you and investigate it, allowing you to get in free hits.

You can also summon a computer-controlled ally on the hills outside.

Also wear poison-resistant armor and have antidotes hot-keyed to items.

And basically dodge backwards four times whenever it's clawing at you. It then hops backwards and you have that much more distance to heal.

Smack it when it does the lunging jump. You roll past it, and it turns around in place, open to hits.

Interesting...is any of the option content blocked out once I've gotten this far?

I'm pretty sure 10 hours of my playtime has just been me waiting around to invade or get summoned.
I gave up on the multiplayer very early on as I realized I'd rather play than endlessly wait. Was only invaded once!

None of the areas are but you've passed the point to where most of the side quests can be started.

Well, died 5 times so far to
Rom
. First 3 times I tried to solo, then last 2 I said screw it and did coop. That ended up being a waste of insight, as my 2 partners died during phase 1 of the fight.
Dodging those ice shards sucks. Sometimes I am sprinting/evading and they hit me anyway, other times they don't.

Platinum trophy complete.

Those last few CDs almost had me throwing my television through the window.
Defiled Chalice
was brutal, but nothing touches
Ihyll Chalice Bloodletting Beast
. Took me about 4 hours, but I feel like I could do it in my sleep now.

I was actually surprised how easy of a time I had with
Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen
after that. Got her down to about 1/3 health the first try, and then killed her on my second try. That being said, easily the most fun boss in the game.

5 hardest for me:

5. Vicar Amelia
4. Rom
3. Pthumerian Descendant (Ihyll)
2. Martyr Logarius
1. Bloodletting Beast (Ihyll)

I went super aggressive on him. I killed all of the first wave spiders, but didn't kill any on the 2nd or 3rd teleport. As soon as he teleported I tried to locate him ASAP and just stayed on top of him, and when he flipped on his back for that AOE, I'd just run out, then straight back in constantly dodging and swinging. Maybe I got lucky, but playing it passively the first few tries, I never got him past the 70% trying to dodge the ice shards from the sky.

I never killed any of the (mid-game boss)
spiders for the Rom fight outside of the first wave. If you have the bolt mace it's pretty easy to just weave in and out while dealing damage.
Takes patience but it works.

This is Rom week. Weekend was Amelia weekend. Wonder what's the hot topic next weekend.

Well, I've been reading only great things about the
Unseen Village
as a whole, and that follows directly after Rom, sooo... Lol. I'm tackling that area tonight, gonna be "fun".

for ur nr 1 I used a potion that makes u heavy so that i can spam heavy attacks without getting stunned, did it second try

I can´t see how people can have so much problem with
Rom, i just sprinted straight at him past all the small spider and just hit him until he teleported and then i just did the same thing again. When you stamina goes down just dodge back and refill your life.

Just killed BSB on my first try. My heart is pounding out of my chest but I never lost focus. Holy shit. I've had a ridiculously productive night with this game. It's crazy how far I've come. I feel unstoppable. 💪

What weapon do you folks think complement Ludwig's Holy Sword the best? Also what do you folks think the best gun to upgrade?
If you have enough points in skill the Blades of Mercy do good damage while also being completely broken. The R1 combo stun locks every enemy in the game outside of bosses if you can hit them with the 4th strike.

As for guns Lugwig's rifle was really useful for me. The shotgun pattern makes it really easy to parry enemies or push them out of an attack. Cannon is also really good for certain boss fights even at a very low bloodtinge but keep in mind the very high ammo usage.

I think thats the key. Don't
get too far away if those attacks are homing properly. He doesn't seem to use it much and instead does the AOE if you stay mid/close range. I found it easiest ignoring the spiders, running in for an R1 or 2 and getting out. The AOE range isn't massive but can get you killed if you get selfish. Either that or a spider drops on your head. Oh and try and land hits when he goes white and teleports away. Can cause some big damage. Either that or a spider drops on your head

I actually think the same thing happened for me just now.
I had >10 insight, tried to summon a few times, then ended up beating him solo with 9. I beat him the same way too, and just ignored the other spiders. Stick close, hit 1-2x, run away when you need to basically.

I think the ice shards definitely home in, there were times where I was running at full speed and still got hit. The trick is to stay close and he will never use the attack.

Unfortunately I am more of STR focused instead of SKILL, hmm. Also, I know from whom the Blades of Mercy is coming from but I have absolutely no clue how to get it, haha. I wonder if I am already too late now trying to get it (just reached Forbidden Forest and killed Cleric, Gascoigne, BSB, and VA)

Ludwig's Rifle huh.... hmmmmm, I might try it. Not gonna bother with Cannon though... 10 QS for 1 shot? Insane.

Amelia continues to defy me. And I've gotten so close twice now. If I had only not missed with that one molotov...

Anyone know how to make either fountain sell fire paper?

lol, defeated him in one go using the beckoning bell.

You're not too late if you want to start the path towards getting them.

There is one late game boss that the cannon breaks. Had it upgraded to +5 and one shot took a third of the health and left them open for a visceral attack and the same happened with the next blast. I feel like some of the weapons in this game are broken on the level of the Laser Shield in Dark Souls. Not looking forward to the patches ;-; Not sure how you'd fix the Blades of Mercy without completely eliminating it though.

Heres the thing though. That 100% did not happen to me the 1st time I beat him, but they were the second. Others have reported the same thing. In fact checking the wiki basically explains beating him when they're not
homing

I think I was explaining the easy method to people and they were still having trouble. It's since become a bit more clear why

Yeah,
it seems if you are very far away he just spams the homing ice attack which makes it hard to dodge since the window for dodging the n strike overlaps with the launch of the n+1. Otherwise if you are at the midpoint between teleports you can dodge it by rolling just as his body is about to hit the water.
