I can see that I'm going to be asking the same question for each and every boss, but if I don't I'm going to trade this game back due to the frustration. What's the strategy for
Vicar Amelia? I leveled my axe massively and even bought the holy sword because I heard it staggered her. I can't level the sword cause I'm missing the blood things, so it's very weak. My axe is extremely strong but really does nothing to her.

What sometimes helps ppl is just to roll/dodge forward to the boss, the moment it attacks (WITH lock on). Then you automatically get to the side or behind the boss and the invincible frames help surviving the attack > then attack once or twice and back off. Not easy to do in the head as you always want to automatically doge to the side or back. But try it. When she starts to
heal, attack to with heavy attacks.

Last night I took a right turn
at the steps to Vicar Amelia's church and entered another building after beating 2 hunters (lightning guy and shotgun guy) and was grabbed by a giant semi-transparent "thing" then died.
Is this normal? There was just no way to avoid it.

Quoting myself for help.

Frenzy Blood Echoes are just a normal + Echo item. Nothing special. I don't remember the exact amount it gives. It's based off the number by its name. (7) gives 2000, (8) gives 3000, (9) gives 5000, I think (10) gives 8000, (11) gives 10000, and (12) gives 20000.

You should use them if you're like close to a level but don't have quite enough to get it. Or close to buying an item, etc. No need to save them. 1-6 probably give like 100, 200, 300, 500, 800, and 1000.

Yeah, avoid this area for now. You are going to come back later to that spot via main story ...

Man that fucking BSB. The fight itself is pretty easy, but when he hits that grappling move, im done.

I spent two hours fighting him, what got him at the end was using the beckoning bell before entering the church and summon a CPU friend who will help you during the battle. Doing that I completed it on my first try with him.

On NG+ and just beat the first four bosses without dying once. LOL this game sure does get easier once you know all the enemy mechanics.

Yeh I'm getting that same feeling. I'm looking to play the areas I missed in the first playthrough and then try some chalice dungeons.

How would I check that?

If BB has been uploading to the Cloud (need PS+ for it, assume you have it, if not this is a bust) - Go to Settings - > Application Saved Data Management - > Saved Data in Online Storage and it should connect you to the Cloud Storage where it'll have a bunch of uploaded game saves. Unfortunately, I'm getting an error when trying to access mine right now so I can't tell you the exact process after that.

Edit: Okay was able to connect and... there's no Bloodborne data there. So, it might not let you upload to it, not sure. Hopefully yours did. If not, well at least NG+ is easy.

Beat Cleric Beast on my first try with a new character. I remember struggling a lot with my first character against this fucker.

Thanks man. That's 19k echos I'll never get back.

lost the exact amount of echos there and thought i could run back to the spot and get them back and bail but i got grabbed again...

I don't want to spoil things but i shat bricks when i came back to the spot in the main story...

lvl 32! making good progress, game is brilliant

1) any good strategies for the blood-starved beast? man, does he move fast

2) also, ive got to be missing a shortcut cause he's way the fuck too far from the last lantern...i killed the gunner & other hunter guy, there's a door that leads to a long ladder which saves a bit but i still gotta go through a town full of wolves/etc, any shortcuts i'm somehow missing along the way?

I killed the old lady I invited to the church. Feel bad but she did sass mouth me.

shit happens, fam

close game, go the settings from the ps4 menu, application saved data management, saved data in online storage, copy to ps4

I saw the save, it was from last night, which was perfect... gave me a error, and now I cant open the cloud saves >_>

Error CE-33116-4

Fuck my life

On the main road with houses left and right (with a big wolf roaming), close to the final descent to BSB is a house to the right with a spiral stairway up. You open a door there. Then you can get from Old Yharnam lamp to BSB in about 1-2 minutes. From the lamp keep right, you can drop onto a roof and then drop to a small balcony which is at the top of the spiral stairway house. Through the now open door, you get to the main road with the wolf.

Yes there's a shortcut. From the chalice go through the big door, don't go left to the bridge, instead go straight and drop down the ledge and make your way to the ground. There will be a gate there that you should have opened, go through it and down the spiral staircase, then when you're all the way down turn left and there will be a beast hound thing there, go past him and fight a couple more enemies and make your way to the church to fight the BSB.

Fire. If you still have fire paper it helps kill him fast. He poisons you at a later point but antidotes take too long to apply and will get you killed. Just get safe and spam medkits when you can. People have disagreed with this strategy but I worked him using the pillars to block his attacks and then ran behind and got a couple slashes in b4 he could turn around. 🔪

It's stackable. I got 2 18% attack on my Blade of Mercy.

Sorry, I meant if they stack on top of each other, like would the bonus from the second gemstone only apply to the "base" damage or is it 18% of all your damage including the bonus you got from the first gemstone.

Yes, really, the Skill gems are all junk. The +ATK gems are all stackable and they improve the Bonus ATK. Note that Physical ATK gems affect all Physical and Blood ATK. just "+ATK" Gems affect *all* types of ATK.

One problem with the Scythe is that, in the main game, there's only 1 +15% ATK Gem and there's 2 +18% Phys ATK Gems (+ some 19s with bad effects). You can get more with NG+ or higher and better with doing Chalice Dungeons.

Like I said in the post above, my +10 Ludwig's at 50/50 is 775 ATK (200 base + 575 bonus with 3x +18% Phys ATK gems).

Comparing the Burial Blade to it with 50/50 and 40 Arcane: +10 Burial Blade with 3x 18% Phys = 160 +337 / Arcane = 60 +29 = 586. Scythe with 1x 18% Phys and 2x 15% ATK = 160 + 312 / 60 + 58 = 590

Guessing if you had 3x 18% pure ATK gems (not sure if there are any) and Arcane at 50 instead of 40 it'd be about 650 total at the most.

Not sure what the best gems you can get from Chalice Dungeons are. I've seen 21.8% Phys ATK mentioned here before. Not sure if there's any higher.

Well, the burial blade is faster, MUCH faster, & it has a badass moveset. & it also looks cool, it's the main reason I'm going to use it from now on, probably on my current pure skill build.

What level are your 18+ATK gems? & where did you find them?

Try Restoring your Licenses. Let me access saved data after that.

How do I do that? I never messed much with my ps4 :/

Nvm found it. Nope didn't work lol. I'm glad I'm paying 50€ for this service Sony :p

cheers fellas, much appreciated! knew i was missing something

Sorry if this has been asked before but do the Chalice Dungeons scale in difficulty with NG+?

Also I have no idea how well it does in the long-run but I am really enjoying using
Tonitrus +6
.

Old Yarhnam?

The building where the Wolf busts out of the door, go in and to the top and you will unlock a door that will lead you right back to the start.

So, what's the deal with the
umbilical
cords?
I saw I need them for the end but what I have to do with them? Just have them in my inventory?

IF you need blood echoes just use them. They dont even give frenzy as far as I can tell (at least when using them in the hunterds dream)

Great help! Appreciate it mates =]

Now, does anyone know what is a sensate level to tackle the first Chalice Dungeon?

They should be waiting for you in the area you were transported to.

No they stay there (if you get to this spot earlier than through main story after you beat
Rom)
. Echoes where laying on the spot i got grabbed/died by an "invisible" force. Then you spawn at last lamp.

You can run back and get the echos. Just make sure to dodge out of the way when the blue spell starts casting. It can be dodged.

Dayum, I've died since then so looks like they're lost forever. Not stressing too much about losing echos at this point. I know there's tons more where they came from.

Well, moveset is a matter of personal taste. One thing though is that lacks the ability to use Fire/Bolt Paper and the Arcane item Buff on it, putting it at a disadvantage there. Ludwig's is a great companion to it for bosses weak to Fire and Bolt. Paper definitely makes a difference.

And +18% Phys ATK gems don't have a "level", they're just a gem. I can't remember where you get them from. Probably one in Nightmare of Mensis.

I give up, no real ending / boss for me. Fuck it, maybe one day when I replay it

2 Endings down, 1 to go. Decided to give NG+ a proper go and destroyed F
ather G and Amelia
, since I took my time doing as many side quests as I could in NG, I'm just rushing through..Got to my farming spot from New Game..Echoes jumped from 60k per run to 300k ^^ Almost forgot what it was like adding 7-8 levels at a time.

I had a rough time on Amelia at first, but hse gets stunned if you keep at her and stay behind her as much as possible.

My arcane level is 8, so fire paper isn't going to do much anyway. Unless the damage buff is still significant at low arcane level?

And +18% Phys ATK gems don't have a "level", they're just a gem. I can't remember where you get them from. Probably one in Nightmare of Mensis.

I thought the number below the gemstone's name is its rarity level?
