So I met
Eileen The Crow
last night at the first location near the
sewer's in CY
. I spoke to her, got her goodies.. then thought I'd attack her. Wasted me pretty quickly. Anyway, today I read there is a
quest line for her
! (I'm new to these games). Am I screwed.. is it worth starting again? I'm not that far in tbh, just killed the
Cleric Beast
.

Not true. I've been invaded without trying to summon anyone multiple times.

I don't think you can get invaded after you've completed that level's boss, but I'm not 100% certain on that.

That's the way it's worked in other souls games, so I would think it applies to Bloodborne as well.

They aren't a thing unless you either summon someone, get summoned by someone, go to the Nightmare Frontier, or ring a sinister bell. In all but the sisnister bell's case, you can stop invasion by killing a bell lady.
Are you sure this is right? Getting summoned by someone never results in an invasion, and in my experience only the summoning bell (not sinister) brings bell maidens. And it should be the other nightmare (not frontier), even if that doesn't happen in practice.

You were in the Nightmare frontier, weren't you?

It can result in the invasion of the person who summoned you while you're there is my point. Had it happen a few times, it's generally a free kill because of how healing works in this game.

Yo, any tips for a side quest
specifically the hunter fight in the great chapel where you find the crow hunter lady bleeding out, I seem to get hit twice and it's all over

Can anyone direct me on the best place to go after beating the Cleric Beast? I back tracked to the big empty building with the sewer like 3 stories below. I then went up some ladders and opened up a shortcut. I'm not sure how useful that shortcut is though. Should I be heading into the aqueducts? I grinded out some levels and am at lvl 17.

I'm loving this game, but man does it feel aimless at times. I only know roughly where to go because of the guy (npc) in the building right by the first lantern he tells you to go to the aqueducts. My issue with it being sort of directionless is simply because it's so difficult. In most games its fine to wander and explore and find you're way in doing so. In this game though, that can get you killed and end up losing a significant amount of blood echoes.

In the sewers/aqueducts there is a section where a dead body is surrounded by loads of enemies in the water. They are seemingly inactive. What do you get from that body, and are the enemies there hard to kill?

I was just fighting this electric boss when I apparently parried him? I dunno what happened but it took off over half his health so I wasn't complaining.

So there was a
big invisible monster that grabbed me outside of a door
near the Grand Cathedral. What's the deal with that? Can I get past that or fight it?

Can't remember the item but they are easy enemies to take out. Use a long weapon if you can.

You screwed up and there's no way to fix things. If you feel confident that you can make up the progress quickly, you can start over if you want to properly do that thing.

it's just QS bullets, iirc. enemies aren't that tough but it's better to lure them away or toss a Molotov at the group.

Back away slowly, wait for him to dual wield his katana, back up until he goes back to his usual spot, wait for him to kill himself.
Or just parry him a bunch. The former is a lot easier.

Small details I just love:

- Pushing doors open
- Fog gates

Also, the animation of your hunter looking for something on his belt when it's not equipped. It's the little things.

Jesus Christ im dying so much... I'm dying to that pig thing right at the start over and over again

Come back later, you don't have to go there now. Farm some blood echoes and level up a bit, then you can put his head on your workshop wall ;)

Not hard to kill, just hit them one by one and kill them. They don't hit super hard either just play cautious. I'm fairly certain it's just bullets.

There are ways to cheese him but if you want to fight him I posted my strategy on the last page.

Is it just me or did the pigs after the one in the sewers somehow change attack-patterns and become harder? Maybe it's because of high insight?

The ones i encountered later on in the game were definitely harder and hit like a truck, they even throw you 2 at once but you can lure one out. You can recognize them because they are "different". Also the pigs in the forest started giving me less souls for some reason, i dunno if having 40 insight has something to do with that.

The only thing that's lame is the sound you make when you slide down a ladder. It's so lazy lol

And wtf, I didn't know you could kick with R2 while holding onto a ladder. Was something like that possible in the previous Souls games?

There's almost no chance you'll get nothing out of it. If you like good, deep and challenging games (like your avatar suggests), you'll love this thing to pieces. It's obviously not a turn based RPG but there's as much rhyme and reason to its combat. Furthermore, while it's drenched in atmosphere, the story is there merely to be sort of gleaned from the background and mostly provides some flavor for what actually is front and center: a real videogame. (which is just as it should be).

Thanks for the answer mate. I'm awful at twitch based games but will give it a go when i get home from work.

its mostly the dual pistol shots that are doing me in but that's just a case of avoiding them I guess

It's not that, but it's more like im not used to the button layout and the general controls. Need to get to used them that's all..

It started in Dark Souls. R1 punches above you, as well.

Yeah. I remember punching a lot of lizard men in the Duke's Fortress.

You literally have to jump over a ledge by running and then hitting circle. IIRC it's the helm of the set that you found below.

Ok thanks man, will back track and see if I can find it :)

Just mosied on to C
ainhurst Castle
and making some decent progress inside the buildings, but my god do I hate those
spider humanoids and eel creatures in front of the castle
. The former are humongously difficult to parry or to dodge cause their attacks have wierd reach and tend to track, and the latter are just super hard to hit cause they are so small and thin. I find inside the buildings much easier. :)

Question regarding cords.
I found one in the real world location the dream is based on, have the prostitute at the chapel so I think I can get that one but I've never met losefka and little girl died in her house. I'm up to Rom but haven't killed him yet. Can I still get the true ending and if so how? All I really need is the one from the girl but I don't know how that happens.

True, I'm on my second hunter I created and find it's easier to skip some enemy's now I know where to go. But yeah...you die, you learn. :)

Oh yeah, and once you
beat him when you run down the long sewer passage he came from don't go all the way like some of have...you will fall, and of course DIE.
Just trying to save you some load times.

Right when you spawn in
Mensis
Nightmare, turn around and walk down. There is a looooong trail that goes into a cave and it's a dead end. Am I missing something ?

Yeah kill that dude and then find the clinic.

Tip, you can attack it from behind by going a certain route :)
Aka any of the routes and just running to the back haha

Youll get one more through the story, can't miss it. After you kill Rom, you can go get iosefkas, and I think after you get the story one, you can get the whores, I'm not actually sure what the trigger is for it, but it's when she disappears from the cathedral.

When should i go to the nightmare frontier? I went in there and through the
lecture hall
and then ran into two hunters and get owned pretty hard. I just beat the S
hadow
of Y
harnam
boss and am level 60.

huh, that's where I spawned in for the first time when I entered through the door in
Lecture Room Second Floor
. how did you spawn outside of it?

Now is fine. The area is deceptive in its difficulty by putting the hardest fight right at the start.

Wow, I didn't expect ludwigs holy blade to get A rank in arcane at +10.... I think it's time to start leveling up my arcane stat to the soft cap.

Ending spoilers:

The fight against Gehrman was incredible. The words beforehand, the setting, and the music all set a very impressive tone for the fight. I'm sure it was snoozeville if you're a baller who can parry his attacks constantly, but it felt like a proper fight to the death and it was a lot of fun. I think I like it more than the fight against False King, it is probably my favorite fight to play out of these games. Just two hunters in a field of flowers duking it out, really great stuff.

Moon Presence was a bit easier, but it was cool looking at least. I just walked behind it and hacked away. It wasn't a particularly challenging fight.

So just dodge and wait it out, got it.

You can do that but what I meant was
back away enough so that he isn't aggro anymore. He'll walk away from you and he will never disengage is katana's buff. Waiting it out while fighting legitimately is riskier because he'll remove the buff if you're too close. You'd be better off trying to parry him.

I think I went after killing
Rom
and doing
Cainhurt
, but before
unseen village
. Its a totally optional zone, so just do it when you feel ready really.

kill rom, find losefka from the path in forbidden forest, kill losefka, get cord. You only need 3 of the four cords in the game the losefka one isnt necessary if you get the prostitute one.

I completed it at 50-55. Make sure you have good poison and frenzy resists for that area.

Honestly this game runs like shit. It really does.

I'm a fan, but going from a game that runs relatively well and then turning this on, it's pretty gross. So damn stuttery. PS4 is super disappointing. So many devs are releasing these games that run poorly. Console gaming is really getting on my nerves.
