What the hell? I just entered the second area, explored a bit, saw a dead dude, tried to loot him and suddenly Frenzy shows up on the screen and I die...

Right before the
old one that shoots lasers
there's a hole in a fence for you to drop down from.

youre a saint thank you

It might require a higher level of ritual blood (2)/(3) etc. that weren't very creative in naming some of the levels of items.

yeah just bought some from the shop at it went into a different inventory slot and worked
what a stupid thing for FROM to do

Logharius
was impossibly hard for me until the time when I beat him, which was my easiest fight. Once you break his sword he just swings away. What a noob.

Second play through where I've grabbed every item and done every side quest now complete (save for the final boss). Took 24 hours but at least 2 of those were spent farming for chunks, god I hope they add the option to buy them or at least increase the drop rate.

Now onto chalice dungeons and wrecking people in pvp with my 450 AR scythe.

By the way, what's the level range for invading?

Omg, just realised the weirdest thing

I was playing in Yahar'gul, Unseen Village, and I always came across these 3 hunters standing in the church. I always just ran past by them, and everytime they just kept chasing me. So this one time I'm doing it again, and at a certain point I reached the shortcut for the Darkbeast Paarl boss. I didn't immediately went through the fog, but I waited for a minute because I had to check some things on my laptop. Suddenly while I was standing still I heard the sound you get when you gain bloodechoes. I looked to my screen, and saw +5000 blood echoes being added. Couple of seconds later the same. And after another 30 seconds or so I'd gained another +5000 blood echoes. I had no idea what was going on, but I didn't really think about it much afterwards. Skip back to yesterday, I came across that church again where those hunters were, and I notice these glowing lights which indicate loot can be found, exactly on the same places those hunters were waiting. One in the middle of the room, one on the far end of the church, and one pile on the stairs. I just realised that those blood echoes I've gained for some mysterious reason where probably those hunters getting killed somehow. But I just don't understand why. I didn't hit even one of them, and yet I gain their blood echoes? Better question would be, how the hell did they managed to die? All 3 of them at nearly the same time?

I bet you
the bag-men
got them.

I dunno why but the way they drop bosses in this game is way more devious than previous games. Love ya Miyazaki.

You got lucky. A lot of the time he kept spamming that sword ability in most of my follow-up attempts, so I had to keep focusing on that instead of him. Was satisfying to finally bring him down though, and while it was a huge pain of a fight it's probably one of my favorites so far.

Might have been my insight level at play however.

Okay.
Where do you start the Nightmare of Mensis? As I said I've beaten Amygdala but don't know where to go after that.

Lol - yeah, when they are wandering around not in combat they have a song they sing, it is incoherent, but it helps alert me when they are around...they also sing it when they have LoS on you, but are out of combat range.
Creeeeeepy!

Ok I'm sure you have all heard it a thousand times already but I'm so excited to finally play this goddamn game... best class/setup for a beginner?

I've played about 10 hours of Demons and 10 hours of Dark Souls so I know the general gist. But I don't want to pick a class I'm going to regret lol!

No wonder some people say he's easy. They never get to see the part where he goes fucking crazy and starts flying around, shooting shit everywhere, and attacks like 3 times as fast with twice the range.
Trick for me (and this works for most bosses) was to roll into him. Doing this makes it trivially easy to deal and avoid damage.

Initial choice doesn't mean too much.
The popular easy weapon seems to require 16 STR and 12 SKL so that may be something to consider.
Good luck, have fun.
When in doubt be more aggressive.

Amygdala is optional. You have to go to the room just past the area where you fought the One Reborn and examine the mummy.

Class doesn;t matter in this series due to the way leveling up works. Pick whatever you want.

Hi Guys, need some help with finding Ludwigs Greatsword. Ive beaten
BSB

Yeah, I feel like that fight is luck based. Only reason I got him into the second phase in the first place was because he used physical attacks instead of the back dash exploding skull.

The classes really don't matter too much. Waste of skin obviously makes things harder in the beginning though

You need to
get the badge at the top of the tower in the cathedral. Go back to the cathedral and down the steps from the lantern turn right and there's a newly opened door there to an elevator.

There are no classes, just starting Origins with different stats. Pick Lone Survivor for highest health at the start, then Saw Cleaver for a balanced weapon. Check out the beginner's guide in the OP, especially VaatiVidya's video guide (linked in OP).

go back to Cathedral Ward and previous locked door in right after lamp is open. Explore that area and you'll find the Radiant Sword Badge which lets you buy the sword in Messenger store

Do I need to buy it or can I find it somewhere

Fuck those guys.
Hell, all the late game hunters are wrecking my shit.

Here I would normally say something like "humans are the true beasts" but in this game that is clearly not the case.

I managed to isolate one of them by running back to where the bell witch was and fighting him in the courtyard. Came SO close to winning when his asshole friend
shot me in the face with his cannon
. Ended up backstab cheesing them lol.

AH Im spoiled. I was curious if this series staple was in BB and was hoping to find out myself. Please don't respond to spoiler tags with untagged answers.
Sorry about that, but what did you get spoiled about? I've seen that NPC name mentioned several of times in this thread untagged. Its just a NPC's name, it has no relation to any other Souls games, so its not really much of a spoiler. Its also not really possible to use spoiler tags on urls. The black bars appear, but the url itself can still be read (its in blue text).

Names of NPCs and places in the game are mentioned several of times un-spoiled in this thread, so to avoid any of these type of spoilers, its best to not read much in this thread before beating the game (that is what i did).

This isn’t going to sound like much but I finally beat Cleric Beast. I felt like I sort of cheesed the fight since I started off with two oil + Molotov hits and then followed up by spamming shots to its head until I could land a visceral attack. I didn’t feel like “shooting until its stunned” was a great strategy, it ended up wasting a lot of bullets whereas trying to time it with its attack patterns worked better but often ended up taking out huge chunks of my health because getting the timing right was a little frustrating.

I did some more exploring and my current question is if there are any shortcuts nearby to where I am. In a nutshell, the best I can really describe my location is elevator, boar, bridge, possibly the second boss (I noped because there was a message saying there was a bloodthirsty monster ahead with a ridiculous amount of likes and I had enough souls for a couple levels and then some)? The closest shortcut that I found brought me back to the fountain area* where the big guy is banging on the large wooden door. That’s not bad since at this point I’m comfortable getting through that path but it’s still a bit of a chore.

*There were also messages before I opened that shortcut asking me if I’m in the know and that there was treasure ahead. What treasure?? I’m not in the know. D:

Thanks for quick responses guys/gals. I didn't realise there were no classes per se, my bad! I'm still waiting for the damn update to finish!

Pro-tip: Don't ever pre-order from Gameseek. :/

So if a gem says +8.3% physical attack up but attack vs beasts down -4.1%, that would still be a 4.2% bonus damage to beasts? Oh wait, I guess they are comparing different things. Should I use that gem or no?
