This, game looks fantastic and perfectly suitable for screenshots.

I need to experiment with poses and locations some more, everything I've snapped right now is pretty basic

one of the easiest bosses in the game. I guess you figured out her gimmick.

Ok, I killed
1 ash man
then another spawned, so I figuered something was up. That's when I started trolling around the area until
I ran into her
. After attacking, I figuered it's a "attack the core" boss and focused on it.

You did it perfectly. I figured out something was up as well. It's a cool boss that requires people to actually observe instead of blindly attacking everything spawning out.

What kinda sadist designed the unseen village?
Nothing stays dead, the maidens are all behind walls of 10 enemies I can't even run through without being lazered to death by Cthullu.
What the hell am I supposed to do here? This feels really cheap right now.

For starters, you need to work your way through Unseen Village...

Done that.

Beaten
One Reborn
. Didn't realize that
Amygdala was optional. Went on and beat the alien boss and now I'm trying the Daughter of the Cosmos or whatever she is called. I'll go back and try to get into the nightmare.

Need a point in the right direction, I've killed
Father G, Cleric Beast, BSB, Amelia and the Witch in Charnel Lane
, any hints on where to go next? I've just been mucking about.

Yeah, I feel like that fight is luck based. Only reason I got him into the second phase in the first place was because he used physical attacks instead of the back dash exploding skull.

Found it similar to Paarl. I've seen people and have even on an attempt or so be able to rush in and bring him down rather quick with little protest. Most of my attempts though he was still hitting me despite being near his back legs, rolls weren't doing their thing, spamming his AOE...

That's why sometimes it's irritating to just see people say 'X is easy' in contest to the lamentations of the 'x' fight from other players. There's certain strategies that will of course make things far smoother, but folks forget that the ease can come from the game 'cooperating' too. Rewatching some of my videos on the page (thanks for all the views GAF btw on that FF NPC video), I can see moments like with the Cleric Beast where I could have easily been killed if the boss was being as aggressive as I've seen and heard from others.

Still, I love the challenge. Sucks when you have to 'waste' a whole day on a boss like M.L., but the result is so satisfying.

For that section
with the eye beam of doom I couldn't find the bell maiden the first time so I just ran through. There's a lamp down the stairs from that section
.

Once you know where the maidens are you can usually run straight to them and kill them first (or only take out one or two enemies prior)

What the hell? I just entered the second area, explored a bit, saw a dead dude, tried to loot him and suddenly Frenzy shows up on the screen and I die...

Same. I could kind of make out the shading of a translucent giant something. I hope we learn what it is at some point!

Quick question: It looks like you can use the motion controls in the DS4 to use gestures. Can that only be done with PS Camera, or is there some sort of setting (perhaps in the OS, since I can't find one in-game) that'll allow me to gesture that way?

Gotta run to work, so thanks in advance to anyone who can/does answer. I'll be up for some jolly cooperation tonight (lvl is about mid 60s).

I'd start by getting your insight below 15, there's a lot of enemies added to the place if you have high insight. Then
if you time it right you can get down the stairs where the laser is being fired, there's a few safe spots on the stairs themselves, keep left at the start of the stairs to see what I mean

Hold X and shake your controller. The gestures only get triggered while holding down X. Doesn't require camera.

I'm sitting on 90k souls and I'm not sure if I should spend them, I'm wary of overlevelling. Currently lvl 55 and in the Forbidden Woods.

I think you have to hold x for them? at least I keep doing them on accident anyways

The forest is next. Its in the main square of the town where you killed Amelia in, past one of the giant guys under an arch (which is to your right, assuming youre coming down the stairs from killing VA, and make a left.

Yep.
Once you figure out where all 4 of them all, area becomes much easier. As you can easily run past the enemies anyways. Once you unlock the shortcut to bypass the 2nd lamppost (so use the 1st one again) area becomes much better

Anyone have a new game+ checklist? I kind of rushed through the game on my second character and would like to know what to go looking for before starting ng+.

Keep playing, you can't access either of those areas at that point in the game

Oh, God, I really hope I can get passed the three bosses I'm stuck on. One is story related
ROM
and the other two are extras (I think):
Amygdala
and one is in
Cainhurst Castle

Hold X, waggle DS4 in directions indicated.

Ah, ok. Thanks!

Forbidden Forrest? The "need a password" door at the bottom of the stairs before you fought Amelia.

That insight scaling I think has really fucked me. I've been running around with 30+ the last 5-10 hours and didn't know enemies scaled with it.

I'm struggling with the
Cainhurst Castle
boss myself, I completely understand the mechanics but I just fail every time.

I'm guessing a Blood Gem with "HP continues to recover +1" will give me health if I lose it slowly but will do nothing against a high poison rate since it heals too slow.

Oh relatedly, bit of trivia/maybe lore: did anyone break the pots in Byrgenwerth? They are filled with
eyeballs of various sizes.

remember 2 days ago i was about to finish with the game about being frustrated for cleric?

today i beat him + father in 4th atempt :)

ME VERY HAPPY NOW :)

Is NG+ really a harder then the 1st playthrough?
I mean, obviously the enemies are much stronger to keep the challange and the increased blood echoes, but is the experience actually harder, or almost the same challange?

This isn’t going to sound like much but I finally beat Cleric Beast. I felt like I sort of cheesed the fight since I started off with two oil + Molotov hits and then followed up by spamming shots to its head until I could land a visceral attack. I didn’t feel like “shooting until its stunned” was a great strategy, it ended up wasting a lot of bullets whereas trying to time it with its attack patterns worked better but often ended up taking out huge chunks of my health because getting the timing right was a little frustrating.

I did some more exploring and my current question is if there are any shortcuts nearby to where I am. In a nutshell, the best I can really describe my location is elevator, boar, bridge, possibly the second boss (I noped because there was a message saying there was a bloodthirsty monster ahead with a ridiculous amount of likes and I had enough souls for a couple levels and then some)? The closest shortcut that I found brought me back to the fountain area* where the big guy is banging on the large wooden door. That’s not bad since at this point I’m comfortable getting through that path but it’s still a bit of a chore.

*There were also messages before I opened that shortcut asking me if I’m in the know and that there was treasure ahead. What treasure?? I’m not in the know. D:
First, smart decision on converting those souls :] If when coming from a lamp you encounter an elevator then that is the fastest way to the boss. More precisely
from Central Yarnham you should be using the gate on the left (lamp incense side) and from the Cleric Beast's lamp you should be going left.)
I can't place the exact treasure in that area. Just remember that red lanterns mean there is someone you can talk to.
