I think this may be another souls game I never finish by the looks of it. Not only is
The One Reborn
a tough boss but the whole area is impossible. The big monsters hit like trucks and are fast as anything, they even come in groups. Then there's the
3 hunters
who are practically untouchable due to the onslaught they can rein down.

I was really looking to beat this game but I don't think I'm gonna have much more steam left. I feel like I just hit another DS2 area of bullshit. I've hardly fought anything in this area because it all flurries me to death in one go.
just run past them and kill the boss. the boss itself isn't particularly difficult.

Makes me sad seeing people hate on Yahargul, I honestly think it's one of my favorite Souls levels now, right up there with Latria and Oolacile.
Cthulu Deathbeam, Bell Maidens, enemies respawning out of their bloodstains, the hunter trio, that room with the two axe guys and the Gatling Grandpa, "Behold! A paleblood sky!" ...
SO many memorable moments and enemies. I'm not even all the way through yet.

Clever.

My favorite level to this point that is for sure. Definitely a "shit just got real" moment since it is right after defeating
Rom
.

So I beat
Rom
yesterday and... I think I glitched through that boss unwittingly.

Here's what happened:
I land in the water and Rom is guarded by small spiders. I hang back for a while trying to figure out what to do. As I'm looking around I see two groups of spiders to the left and right of me that "blink", meaning they are rendered for just an instant, then disappear. I figure I'd investigate and when I get to where one group of spiders should be the full group of spiders behind me that were also blinking suddenly spawn. I run over and kill all of them because apparently they are oblivious to my presence and won't attack me back. When I killed all of the spiders the other group of spiders spawn, so I run over and kill them as well. Then I engage the main group of spiders guarding Rom and take them out one by one. I know I can safely do this since Rom won't attack until he has transported once. Then, after getting Rom down to about half health, he transports. Usually when he transports a new group of spiders fall from the sky to protect him, but this time it didn't. Then it hits me; "I killed those spiders before they spawned". This enabled me to stay fairly close to Rom without having to worry about the spiders while at the same time remaining at a perfect distance where I could easily dodge any attacks and easily swoop in for a jab or two before backing up. After beating the boss I stayed behind and offered help in coop, and the glitch seems to trigger every time as long as you hang back for a while and try to locate the blinking spiders.

Is this a known glitch?

[Edit] Found a video demonstrating the glitch (warning, spoilers): https://youtu.be/yDnjMnPhXcc?t=9m1s

so any reports of the patch "fixing" bosses?

because I 1 shot
Gehrman
this morning and now I cant kill him O_o

I guess my 77 insight isnt helping

Some help on these bits:

The 3
hunters do not respawn, and if you are careful and walk slow you can land a backstab on the one in the center and then focus all attacks until he is dead. Then you do the same to the one on the stairs by approaching from behind. Then the third one you fight one on one. You can also just ignore them entirely and run past.

For the boss:
there are stairs at each side of the back end of the arena, from which you can run up and kill the witches. Will make the fight a lot easier.

Ok but I have 40 hours in the game, and I did one Chalice Dungeon and I killed every enemy in it and I opened every single chest in it and I picked up everything and I never destroyed anything in my inventory and still I don't have enough materials to perform any other Chalice ritual for any of my other Chalices... At least that's what I remember from earlier... So I have to regrind the same Chalice Dungeon to try to RNG more materials to perform another ritual even just to do the same Chalice Dungeon of a deeper level right?

How many bosses did you kill in that chalice dungeon? Was it 1, or 3? If it was 1, then you only did the first layer. Each chalice consists of multiple layers. So after you kill the first boss, there shoudl be an elevator going down to another level, then more stuff and another boss, etc etc.

Maybe you can post specifically what chalices you have in your inventory, and what the materials you are missing are.

I did the first Chalice Dungeon. I forget what it's called. And I went down to the third level. And there was no pathway to any lower levels. And I killed everything, all the bosses, and picked up everything. I can't post of my inventory and what I am missing now because I'm not nearby the game. I can do that later on tonight possibly though.

Yeah the bosses strength is odd. Everything else in the area is disproportionately stronger than him, but it's bugging the hell out of me that the only way to explore this place is sprinting for my life and grabbing stuff at the cost of death.

30 blood vials later... and I think around 10-12 tries...

D

P

DOWN.

My second FUCK YEAH moment after BSB.

However, moments later I'm sad because for all of what I've done, Dj
ura remains aggro towards me as I climbed up the ladder, and I had to kill him. =(

Sounds like you missed the shortcut allowing you to skip the 3 hunters.

Run past everything including the 3 hunters. When you exit their room turn left and go up the stairs into a door. There's an elevator there which takes you back to the first checkpoint of the game -- cha-chaing! new shortcut unlocked! Now go back down the elevator, about halfway down roll out the window. You'll be on a ledge. You can grab some items up here, but the real reason you're here is right where you encounter dogs, there's a door you can go into and interact with a shiny blue thing on the ground that teleports you. Go out the door it teleports you from, run across the bridge, drop down the ladder, and boss is right there. Total time from checkpoint to boss is about a minute run. Boss is honestly pretty easy.

I do agree with you though that that area sucks, was probably the least fun part of the game for me. I'm glad I found that shortcut though, it makes a big difference.

I'm in the
unseen village

I'm right at the beginning, the normal mobs seem a lot stronger and I keep dying, I have a holy blade +6, am I imagining things or is the game telling me to strengthen my stats (also i need a blood chunk)

I was actually summoned by a friend to help him with that fight since I soloed it and he needed help and the same thing happened to him.

If you have the shortcut unlocked from the very first lamp in that zone, you can skip most of the mobs.

Where you are going down/up the elevator, you can hop onto the roof of the building and it leads to an altar that you can use to teleport to skip most of the mobs

You had to have missed a door. I've done around 6 dungeons and I've never had to buy ritual items. You generally find a chalice for the next level of dungeon and the materials to perform the ritual. Some of the chalices you get from the main game require items you can find in later dungeons.

Going to get the game eventually how many bosses are there also can you stun them and do viserals go them like minor characters?

Guys... I want to make sure I'm done with the first tombstone world and missed nothing.

So the areas I've unlocked were:

1st floor sickroom
Central yharnam
Great bridge
Tomb of oedon
Cathedral ward
Grand cathedral
Old Yharnam
Church of the good chalice

And the bosses i've slayed were:

One at the great bridge
One at the graveyard
One in the ruins of the old church
One in the big cathedral

So did i miss anything?

And if i did please tell me how to get it right, thanks a lot.

welp cant kill
Gehrman
, maybe I shouldnt have gotten my save back lol

tried to parry him now like I see in videos but I cant parry for shit (I rarely used it during the game), and im actually now out of vials in the storage for the first time

Is anyone else blown away by the trophy statistics of this game? 70% of the players have beaten Cleric Beast, and 20% have beaten Rom. 20% May not seem like a lot, but for a difficult boss relatively late in the game I think it is. It looks like players are really sticking with this game. To give a point of comparison, only 36% of people who bought Uncharted 2 beat it on normal.

I don't see how any of this is true, other than the areas part(if you're only referring to crystal cave and Lost Izalith, I'd understand). Especially the Coop part, the coop is just as broken as it was in Dark Souls.

I mean, i guess it's better balanced, but that's due to the lack of variety.

I've played coop plenty in Bloodborne. It only worked twice in Dark Souls.

You need to go back in time and see how broken it was back then.

Thanks guys, got the shortcut unlocked now along with an easier route to the boss. It still seems a shame though because the architecture is fantastic in the village and it looks like it's trying to tell a bit of a story about what happened here too but it's tough finding the breathing room to take any of it in. Great looking area though, perhaps I can come back and scope it out properly nearer the end.

Okay so this more than likely been observed but I just want to make sure I'm not crazy... Does the loading symbol look like the Berserk cursed seal on Gutts to anyone else?

IDK I feel like I explored the dungeon thoroughly... I will check later on the next time I play though... Glad to know that people are saying I don't have to grind for ritual materials. thank you!

yes

any tips for
Gehrman
besides "get gud"? I dont think im missing anything in the fight, Im just fucking up on dodges and shit, but still

Fuck this
blood moon
shit. Like, seriously. The enemies
just respawn and are way too strong.
so mad. Fuck those big Ol' creepy things

So I have killed 5 bosses so far (the latest one being
the witch in hemlock.
. What's the recommended place I go to next? I have access to some
Prison
place I was
kidnapped in earlier in the game, but didn't explore much of it.

I'm trying to remember other places that might have opened, but I'm drawing a blank.

Title is accurate. On my new character for a katana build and I just can't use the cane at all. The low damage and moveset just feels to slow for a weapon that barely staggers.

Ludwig has spoiled me.

Did they fix the item, souls glitch? And what about load times. Just started and died a lot but I want a shield not a gun but oh well great game though.
