Really?
Amygdala was gone form that room after I killed it.

Did you do it late in the game?

Because there is way more than one of those things. The
Unknown Village
crawls with them. They're on almost every building.

I got the cutscene and everything though "oh amygdala..." got teleported too

Unrelated:
Are there a lot of chunks in this game?
I have two weapons at +6 and can't decide which one to upgrade

I'm thinking what determines how well I do against bosses is how good their blood defense is.
The official guide can't come here fast enough so we can finally learn proper stats/weaknesses etc.

Also ENB said that there is more to the Beast transformation that he's hoping the community figures out....

Let the rumor mills fly!

Gosh, I skipped a lot in Unseen Village. Combing through it better in NG+, and found
a random bath that teleports me to an elevator shaft. Prolly a shortcut?

Yeah, that's
a shortcut to the boss ffrom the first lamp.

Did you do it late in the game?

Nope. Just to make sure you're talking about
the one in the room with the pool by where you fought Vicar Amelia, right? Yeah, it was gone once I beat it in the Nightmare Frontier.

Don't. Just stay close, and he usually doesn't do that move. Avoid his other AOE when he gets on his back -- it's an easy tell.

Ugh but then the spiders wreck me. i was hopin to keep my distance til i could pick off the spiders but guess not!

Second boss in a row thats bugged
First celestial emissary just seems to commit suicide at 60% health then daughter of the cosmos gets stuck in a blood spitting/body slamming move
she was wrecking me before with her lasers but my last two fights she didnt even use them. Unless you can blind her by shooting her face (because I didnt shoot her before)

I enjoy cheese as much as the next person but it kinda takes the fun out of it

i cant seem to dodge
rom's blue crystal things
i mean i can sometimes but other times im rolling away but they still hit me.

any tips?

I'm wondering the same!

What halped me was starting to roll (basically mashing the roll button) before
they start coming down. Basically start when he goes into the stand up summoning animation. I still got hit with one sometimes though.
I don't think there's a sure way to avoid them all 100% of the time.

I noticed
he will stop it if you are close. Once within a certain range, he will switch primarily to the AOE/ground crystal attacks
which are easier to bait and avoid.

Huh? 2nd try for me. Thought she was cake. Father G took me literally 20 tries.

There are two main kinds of boss in this game: bosses with vulnerable locations you have to beat on to open them up and bosses that are weak to ripostes. Amelia is the former and Father G is the later.

It seems like most people are good at managing one but not the other. I for one got Father G in 2, but Amelia easily took me 20+ tries until I figured out what her deal was. From then on, every boss has more or less been a Father G or an Amelia. The moment I figure out which it is, its toast. Figuring out how to do both kinds makes progressing through the game a lot less frustrating.

I really wanna figure out how to propose to the queen. There's a ring, but no one has gotton her to accept. The ring says it's for someone who's pregnant. The blood dregs say she uses them to try and give birth to a new king. So I'm guessing after enough dregs + maybe something else, you try to propose her with the ring something will happen.

If there's one thing I really hate about the Souls games it's the obscure sidequests that you can fail without ever even knowing you were doing them. Spoilers regarding the E
ileen the Crow
sidequest:

I was low on vials after beating VA so I figured I'd farm some by running the Central Yarnham -> Tomb of Odeon route a few times. Upon arriving at the tomb I got attacked by a hunter, and shortly after Eileen, whom I'd only met once before just before the sewers, joined the fight seemingly on my side. Didn't do much good for me though since it was practically impossible to hit the hunter without also hitting Eileen. I did manage to get enough hits in to piss him off though and got myself killed. Respawned and ran back to the tomb just in time to see the hunter kill Eileen.

Sidequest failed, better luck next run. So fucking annoying.

To the right of where you fought her yes, you go down a set of stairs and past the guy with the electric mace. Then you get grabbed when you walk up to a closed door that opens when you beat Rom.

They wrecked me for a long time too, but I realized I was just being too greedy, trying to get in 3 or 4 hits when I should have just went for 1 or 2. Just bring in a ton of health, use Bolt paper (it wrecks him), and be conservative with your damage, but liberal with healing.

Where do you get the ring from?

Have you tried to propose to her after reviving her? Maybe use a particular gesture like the one you got from the prostitute.

This game man...

Just finished it.

I got
Metal Gear Solid 3
vibes from the fight against
Gehrman
. Loved it.

Overall, I thought it was a brilliant game. On par with Dark Souls, and one of the best games I've played in years. Time to jump into NG+ and tackle some more Chalice Dungeons.

Yep same i absolutely loved the scene though

Don't have the ring myself, just read about it. I'd get it, but it's in a chalice dungeon and I'm not sure how much of those I'm going to run. Been reading about people trying the ring on different people. So far the queen just flat out declines, heard conflicting reports on what it does on other npcs... but nothing very exciting.

I noticed that if you do a 90 degree turn (either direction) that you can very likely avoid it. That attack is aimed at you from direction you are going in. So changing direction helps to avoid it greatly.

Accidentally killed the doll when I accidentally did a charge attack to her when not looking at the screen lol. Hope I haven't screwed myself too bad. Damn sensitive triggers.

Ok, I think I'm done. This game has gotten far too hard for me and my slower reflexes. I'm in the hidden village and getting beaten easily.

Question about trophy. There are trophies for purchasing all the weapons and tools. But do i have to buy them or just have them? I found some and bought a few. But i don't know which ones i found and which ones i bought.

How does one go about equipping runes? Do I just need the rune or is there another item that'll allow me to equip, like you need the blood gem workshop tool before you can start using gems on your weapons?

You need a tool you get for visiting the
witches of hemlock
.

You should run past those enemies as they are powered up on purpose (unless you kill the bell maidens there which are hard to find and not worth the effort IMO).

doesn't matter how you obtain them. you just need all of them in your inventory.

Just have them. You need to buy the majority of weapons.

I really need some help with the doggie boss in this defiled chalice dungeon :(
If anybody wants to help I'm level 104 and using the password in the OP

Could someone in the know do me a massive favor and drop a shortlist of the secret areas/bosses and a rough location their accessed from? I'd look up a guide but I've done that twice now and both times it had a damn picture of the boss right at the top spoiling it for me.

I've got 4 headstones opened and beat the major boss in each one but the last and I don't want to push on without doing 5 he optional ones that I might miss.

As cool as the scythe is, it has some mediocre scaling. I'm thinking of investing my chunks into the cane or Blades of Mercy. Anyone use the Burial Blade? Is it worth it?

Can we all agree that the ugly fuckers that suck your insight are the most op lesser enemies in the game? These motherfuckers are a hair away from being straight broken...

I hate them with a passion.
