What difference do the tombstones for the chalice dungeons make?
There seems to be 6-7 of them.
And also do you need to complete all the rituals to progress? For example I did the first 2 in order, found them too easy then skipped to the last one of the chalice cups I had for that type?
none, think of the tombstones like save slots.
no you dont have to but youll run out of material if you try skipping depths. depth 3 is fuckin brutal btw.
I tried everything. I tried being gentle. I tried reloading. I tried rezoning. I tried sneaking up on it. Video
I moved the dead enemies so as to avoid spoilers.
For the curious this is the elevator to (boss name)
___Ebrietas_
.
I'm going to have to kill 2 very easy bosses again, but the grind to get to them again is unappealing.
I wouldn't know. Found the boss fight easy as fuck. Don't know what the hell people are talking about. Maybe she is glitched in my game as I fought her like 7 times already.

66, got a few more now. Think it was just playing up a bit but went back to Hunter's Dream and it started finding people again! Jolly Cooperation never felt so good!
Just a quick question about stats and if its too late to change up. I was concentrating on strength / bloodtinge build at first until I received a weapon which i'm wanting to focus on and keep but it scales better with skill !
I'm around level 80 something. Can I from now on focus on skill and bloodtinge or will me character be unbalanced? Just started chalices and only final boss to go which i'm not doing until ive levelled my weapons and done the chalices.
was some serious bullshit. Thankfully the boss fight made it worth it. Took it down in one try
Stuck on two optional fights now.
Martyr Longarius and Eileen. Can barely damage Longarius and Eileen just does so much damage so quickly. I switched to Holy Blade seems to be working OK against her because of its added reach and stagger but she still can kill me so fast.
Any advice on either of these?
Also, any way to get to the upper level of the (optional location)
Ok, so I'm way behind everyone, probably something like 30 hours into the game but taking it really slowly, and holy shit this game is so freaking good...
I've killed
Cleric Beast
Father G
BSB
and Amelia, that's the only one that went down on the first try for me
so far and I've explored most nooks and crannies in the areas so far and shit, I just can't get over how much I'm loving absolutely everything about Bloodborne.
Probably the most amazing thing for me so far was
when checking out old areas I noticed the Oedon Chapel lantern was 'disabled' for some reason, decided to check it out and woah, Eileen duking it out with Henrik. Unfortunately he killed me and they never stopped fighting, by the time I got back there after a respawn all I could see was him killing Eileen with the last hit, then he killed me again... So I guess that's this questline for me, a bit bummed but hey, the whole thing was amazing so all this means is I have another thing to look forward to in the next playthrough.
He was impossible to beat for me tho, so I just cheesed him
doing visceral attack and running out of aggro range, rinse and repeat. That didn't feel good at all, but I could barely get him below 70% hp before he owned me for like 10 tries, and that's including the visceral opener - so it got old. I read somewhere that he eventually disappeared for someone so I didn't want to take the chance.
In general, I'm just absolutely in love with the atmosphere, the art design, level design, combat feels fantastic, the weapons are great (using Ludwig's and Threaded Cane for the most part, Ludwig is easy mode on big, tough to stagger guys but I've just started experimenting with learning to time my parries and spent this evening running with cane half of the time) and the mix of terror and wonder every time I get an inch further than I was is just amazing.
I spent some time farming, partially because I wanted my Cane and Ludwig at +6 and partially because I keep losing a ton of echoes and every time there's something new in the shop I just need to have it and I'm loving every minute of it. The only Souls game I played before was Demon's Souls and I didn't finish it, mostly because I started playing it as a 'filler game' waiting for Diablo 3 to release and I'm notoriously bad at coming back to games I took a long break from. I liked Demon's Souls a lot, but nowhere near as much as Bloodborne.
By and far my GOTY so far. It will take quite the game to top this. I just beat
shadow of yharnam
, and my experience so far has been one of the best in years. I just don't want it to be over, I felt like I was getting close then I remembered I havn't done any chalice dungeons yet. This game is amazing. First Miyazaki game for me. He has made 1 more fan.
Will have to pick up DeS and DS sometime. I will grab DS2 remastered as well. Feel like I missed out.
Also, how do I open the door at the top, way above

Consider yourself lucky it's Eileen you're fighting and not the hunter you get for completing her quest line :|
Dude is brutal unless you cheese him hard.
Just killed Mergo's Wet Nurse. I'm back at the Hunter's Dream and the house is burning down. I had an idea who would be the final boss....
Question: I just gotta killed Ebriatas and I'll be done with the optional bosses, right? Or are there more? I killed Amygdala and that mushroom dude, BSB, Cleric Beast, the witches...Who else?

Just grab one of the anthologies, they're all rather short stories. Shadow Over Innsmouth is good. Nyarlathotep is a good one to read because the character is reused. Also the Cthulhu story is great, can't remember the exact name though.
and he must've been bugged, because during the second phase, all he did was pretty much run back and forth, he never tried to hit me once in any kind of way. Kinda sucks, but I'll take it for now.

root chalices are the equivalent in difficulty with their namesake but they are randomly generated
once you are done with lower pthumeru (boss is a bitch), you'll have to continue grinding depth 3 dungeons for a while to gather the required mat for depth 4 dungeons.
don't forget to browse through the categories on the tab at the top when chosing the chalice
So...... I just advanced a game state and I'm not sure what caused it.
The creeper at cathedral ward is saying "yarnham is done for" and eileen has disappeared. I decided I was going to go help her fight Henryk and now she's gone The old lady is giving me sedatives too. I just got to the forbidden woods, what caused all this to happen?
