Illusory Revelations#FE (SMTxFE) - First Trailer, Winter 2015 [Up: Screenshots]

Holy shit it even has the angled slide with the logo in it like Persona 4 website http://www.atlus.com/p4g/home.html

Well, good thing about this being on the Wii U is you can play on the GamePad and hide the creepy otaku stuff from your friends and family.

I don't disagree, that would have been rad as hell and preferable, but I certainly wouldn't say this looks bad.

For many people, including me, this is not the case. I don't know what FE has gotten up to on handheld since i've been away, but this is nothing like tonally what i loved about the franchise. And it definitely doesn't look like SMT coming off of 3(Nocturne) and 4 especially.

It doesn't look like DDS, it doesn't look like Raigo, it doesn't even look like Persona, its like if P5 was handed over to NIS pre production and they just changed it into this weird thing

Remember this:

Interview July 9, 2013

Yamagami added, “Oops! I shouldn’t say that the game takes place in the real world. We haven’t announced it, right?”

The idea of a Fire Emblem game in modern times doesn’t sound as outrageous as one might think. In fact, Intelligent Systems, the series’ developer, considered the idea of a modern-day or even sci-fi setting during the development of Fire Emblem: Awakening. That said, it wouldn’t be surprising at all for Fire Emblem’s traditional medieval setting to play a role in the game as well.

I think it's fair to assume that at one point they would make a crossover, but now it's two separate games.

Fire Emblem If draws inspiration from SMT (IV), but at heart still a FE game in a traditional sense

Illusory Revelations#FE draws some inspiration from Fire Emblem Awakening, mixes it with weird Atlus juices and cranks the mixer on MAX.

Apart from character design, how much is Intelligent Systems or Nintendo for that matter involved with this game. It feels more than a Atlus game right now.

Horizon knows.

So what? I'm saying I don't think it looks bad stylistically.
Exactly. Horizon approved.

It's weird that Fire Emblem If looks more like what we expected from SMTxFE.

Especially with the CG demons from the first trailer, and the SMTIV-ish black and white screens from the latest trailer.
Maybe that's what happened to the original project. It split into two and Atlus was left with handling whatever was leftover. I'm fine with what they're leftover. SMTxFE and FE:IF both look great to me and I will get both (all three?).

That neon persona lime green. Its like Chie made the website or something.

Awful Google Translate gooooooooooooo

And that the collaboration work with the "Fire Emblem", I think than quite unlike anyone who was there were many with the expected.
Their original also, how far to have either a very trouble incorporating the "Emblem", both Nintendo have worked carefully consultation.

But "as long as the development of work that conforms to the original, if Intelligent Systems's may be Tegakere. Atlas is to develop, should be in the works that Atlas is good."
After ended up at all to the conclusion that, was a stretch direction is Sadamari.
As a result, "# FE" is the basic axis of "modern Japan to stage, draw the growth of life-sized character who suffers from a variety of worries and conflict RPG", was interwoven the essence of "Emblem", mere It was a thing to aim the work of more than collaboration.

In this time of PV, or would have to But part of still making over many, the atmosphere of the game can tell?
Essence of Emblem might was hard to understand, but I think if you can wait for the follow-up to that point.

This is almost decipherable gibberish! I think they're saying that the more Fire Emblem style elements aren't obvious now, but they'll reveal them later?

Can't believe how disappointed I was. Guess FE really is dead for me, was hoping after Awakening they'd switch it up, go back to the old, anything really, but no they doubled down on it, to the point of making even this otaku-bait.
I was looking forward to this so much from that first teaser, but this is everything I hate from JP media all in one package.

Yes, I'm beyond salty but I guess I should be used to it. What a shame.

So it kinda looks like they took the battle animations from FE and slapped them on a persona game?

I'm somewhat interested. If I have a (whatever console it's on), I'll probably check it out if it's well received.

That would work with this:

Shit I just realized....if this involves actual SMT stuff then this can somehow be connected to Persona....0.0

What? Most people are saying that it looks like garbage stylistically. They're right.

A lot of people are just coming in and saying it looks bad without specifying.

Stylistically it looks like Persona and I see like loads of people with Persona avatars on this site so I don't really get where the hate for this is coming from?

The only people who I agree with and have a right to be genuinely unhappy are the people who wanted more of a SMT look, I would have preferred that but I'm glad that the game still exists.

Okay, I'm calmer now. Having a fifth go at the trailer, my hype has slowly grown from the zero it had gotten. There is basically one character, the female Pegasus Knight, that is very flamboyant and off-putting.

The main character character though looks very subdued and the apocalyptic wasteland in the end makes me hope the Neptunia-style tropes are not really played straight. Maybe like Midori was made so annoying to contrast with the other guys in Devil Survivor.

Maybe it IS like Devil Survivor, as it has high schoolers and some pretty awful character design, but its story is really dark and interesting.

I'm illuded easily, I know

At this point, I'm really glad this is getting made. It looks really nice. Just please, SMTV, and not 9-10 years down the road.

Yeah, I can see the Persona influence, but there's definitely Fire Emblem in there too.

I guess we'll have to wait and see more.

I'm a bit disappointed we won't get a real SMTxFE, but frankly I'd be ok with it if what we got was still good. And this doesn't look good. This looks like one of those low-quality Vita JRPGs that try to make up for their shortcomings with piles of fanservice.

Considering the team working on it, it should be a good game. We'll probably find out more later that confirms that it is not Compile Heart-level trash. But that trailer looks like Compile Heart-level trash.

I think the SMT part is actually a Persona part which is actually the gameplay and story themes. So basically one world is Persona, and another world is Fire Emblem.

With that being said I'm hoping to see SMT demons as enemies in the game.

It really didn't look like anything you'd expect from a crossover of the two franchises. Plus I feel like they amped up the anime portions of the game WAY too much. Fire Emblem, even in Awakening, is relatively serious, and this just seems like a generic anime game that may play a bit like Persona. Persona and Fire Emblem are both really stylish... this doesn't seem like it so far T_T.

As a big Persona fan myself im disappointed because Persona isn't about fan service, sure it had its moments but even then its nothing compared to what this game is presenting us with.

It's overstyled persona, that what's off putting to me and others IMO.

I like the anime style of Persona but done to this degree...it's off putting unless you are really into otaku level stuff.

The artistic style is whatever. This right here is what I am personally salty over. I just wasn't expecting it and it caught me off guard. I'm not massively upset over the art style alone, however.

Yeah. This is too much.

Guess you can't please all of the people all of the time. I'll wait for a better look at gameplay before making a judgement.

The series would literally be dead if Awakening didn't sell as well as it did. Expecting Nintendo to not continue with that style is just silly.

Personally, the tonal difference is what killed my hype. I was expecting something much more like Fire Emblem characters teaming up with SMT characters to take on YHVH and Satan's armies in turn-based strategy with Press Turn.

There's a massive difference in tone between this trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Et7a4bM7n3M

And this trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKaHMqkjGS8

Hell, it looks waaay closer to Omega Quintet: https://youtu.be/ZhvwlCDQ_m8?t=13s

Exactly. Are we 100% sure this new trailer isn't for some completely different product?
