I had an idea in my head of a Fire Emblem game where you choose from a team of SMT demons before battle, FF Tactics style. Of course, I knew that it could be anything at all, so I kept my expectations firmly in check - in fact I was convinced that it had been quietly cancelled.

There's already Devil Survivor, or Majin Tensei that exists. Though yeah, I DID think we were getting an updated Majin Tensei originally too.

I know it's been hinted by the devs that this probably takes place in the 'real world', but what if this is a theoretical distant future of the Fire Emblem timeline, where all the magic and creatures have long disappeared, but are now returning? That would actually be crazy awesome.

Still, this game already looks crazy nuts as it is, so I can get on board.

I think if this was a new ip, or at least a proper Persona/SMT spin off, ("with FE characters!" as a surprise) it would had been recieved far better, it doesnt resemble FE or SMT that much.

But it was announced as a crossover, and it generated these expectations that final product cannot be...
In fact, it was announced far too early.

I'm seriously impressed with the art style here. It's like a more colorful persona and it has that "looks 2d but is actually 3d" look to it.

If I had to compare it to something it's like a next gen persona 4 look. (as opposed to persona 5 which is like a next gen persona 3 look)

It's not necessarily just a cost choice. It's also an easy way to make a scene look more vibrant with less effort when it would otherwise be filled with a few types of background characters repeated. It's not an uncommon method in anime either.

He, Soul Eater was the first thing that came to my mind...

The trailer look really AWESOME, can't wait for more info tbh

Has Atlus make any bad JRPG ? (legit question)

Everyone has made a bad game in the eyes of someone, but generally speaking, Atlus has a phenomenal track record.

Like, this will be mediocre at worst. It's probably guaranteed to be solid, given Nintendo is involved.

I don't know about the Fire Emblem future but parts of the game are clearly in Shibuya, kind of tying into the interview posted about a Pegasus on the 109 building. Could be an alternate world, given that it is technically the 106 building in the trailer.

That...is a persona dungeon?

What does "artist" mean under that attack box(?). Is there like a special song that plays depending on the character or maybe changing songs has an effect on the attacks used?
Ohhhh, they went full idol with this then lol

It's very Lantis.

Is that a bad thing?

It sounds like some uninspired Jpop junk you'd hear in that School Idol Festival game.

:(

Honestly I expected something more SRPG related but this is a full RPG and similar to Persona it seems. I'm perfectly happy with this even though it was completely unexpected. The game looks beautiful and love the use of colors and character designs.

No o3o

What is it with Nintendo and fucking up collabs.

Because they leave it up to the other developers? Whenever they loan one of their franchises to another developer, they usually give them the reins and only check in. Atlus is making this game, not Nintendo.

Also, what other "fuck-ups" have they done?

This sure looks like a bunch of garish, ugly nonsense chock full of giant boob anime girls.

At least the music sucked.

Just off the top of my head

Metroid: Other M
DDR Mario Mix
That S-E Mario + FF basketball game

Looks like fun, but I wish the artist for Persona 3-5 or 1-2 did the designs. This just looks kind of cheap and generic modern day anime. The Persona and SMT had a distinct art style from the rest of the crowd. Whatever, I'd do the main chick in this game though.

Zombie Marth? Interested in the story behind this one lol

Actually, probably either Lucina or Chrom, as he/she has the Awakening version of Falchion.

True, but considering Fire Emblem IF clearly has samurai stuff in it, it's entirely possible that a future FE city could have a district similar to Shibuya. It's probable that the game takes place on Earth, but I guess I can dream.

Is there anyone who can translate what it says?
