In the end, I like it better with all new characters. Good to have a good complete canon story than a crossover of characters.

There are a bunch of FE characters though even in that trailer. Young Tiki is in, without many changes, and there's also Gangrel and Aversa as monsters.

Also a blue haired swordsman with glowing eyes and a Falchion... Looks like FE references are pretty much replacing mythology here.

Each time I watch the trailer the more stunned it leaves me. Everything is great, the music, character designs, anime cut scenes, I'm so glad it turned out like this. The game has charm coming out from every where.

I understand people might have expected something more like Project X Zone but I'm a bit confused about the anime complaints. Like these are two of the most waifu franchises out there, it's perhaps the only thing they have in common (especially the modern games).

Anyway, I'm sure if they initially announced it differently people would be Persona 5 levels of hype but I'm sure people will come around.

So basically the overall mold of the game is supposed to be Shin Megami Tensei such as modern setting and summoning demons, but in this case the "demons" are Fire Emblem characters? Are there any concrete SMT connections from what we've seen aside from the conceptual stuff?

I don't know how to feel about the setting. I love Fire Emblem, SMT, and Persona so I play a lot of "anime" games, but even then this seemed too far for me. I went crazy watching the Persona 5 reveal, but this one turned me off even though there are elements in common (High school students leading a double life, etc.) and I can't really put my finger on it. (music definitely didn't help)

I will say this... A lot of the issues of this trailer (not saying they're all that's there) are the sort of thing people feared the direction of Persona 5 could take. Thank goodness for Hashino and the crew.
