Anyone know if the Eye runes make better items more likely to drop, or just influence the overall item drop rate like DeS luck stat? The wolves I'm killing for chunks always seem to drop something, with or without the runes I can't really tell if they are worth stacking or going for + blood echoes runes instead.

Just eat them before you fight the final boss in the Hunter's dream. Just chow them down before you walk through the gate that's been locked since the beginning of the game.

if you stand at that overpass where that happens, and look at the cliff edge above using the telescope, you can see the spider guy there and shoot him down.

Well this is a second playthrough because I duped on my original character and lost all satisfaction playing this game so I have done this area before and beat the boss. That sequence is just something I didn't encounter the first time I ran through here. I'm pretty close to the boss, is there something special if I go to the area again

I'd say the entire game seems pretty depressing quite frankly. I think it's because there seems to be more emphasis on the other NPCs around.
I think if you run through the water and make it to the end of wherever it leads you can get the illusion spell that turns you into messengers. I haven't done it, though.

I just got to Mergo's wetnurse. YO DAMN. Hard boss. I went in, and it did not pay off once the darkness and 2nd version comes out to slap. Hits like a truck too and I have over 1K health.
With that said, is there 1 boss after this, or is this the final ?
Other questions: How do I get the +9 to +10 item for weapons? Is it Chalice Dungeons only ?
Once the game ends and new game + begins what will I lose, and what will I keep ? Do I have to unlock all areas from scratch?

Maybe I'm forgetting it but I feel most DeS/DaS enemies depend on LOS or you being stupidly close to their backs to detect you.
Still, that entire section is neat, especially if you arrive in

the church who can alert all the other enemies the entire place. Surprised it took this long for FS to do more complex detection other than pure LOS.

I have been mostly binging the game and avoiding this thread but I just thought I'd pop in and say that I originally had reservations about the trick weapons but From Software really nailed the feeling of impacts with the weapons much like in some of their other games. Just playing around with everything feels so good.

1) Yes, 1-2 more bosses depending on what you did throughout the game.
2) +9 should just be with chunks, +10 is with the
blood rock in mergos workshop.
3) You keep everything in terms of player items/souls/levels/gear/weapons, etc. All the games progress resets. Imagine starting a completely new game but with everything you have on you the second after you kill the final boss. Make sense?

Little girl ask hunter to look for her mom, mom was killed by dad who's Father Gascoigne, one of the first bosses, then little girl escapes and little boy ask hunter to look for his sister, hunter found little girl's ribbond inside the big pig in the sewers, hunter deliver ribbon, little boy go nuts... the end

Girl daughter of Father G gives you music box to remind him of stuff.Find brooch of her mother and multiple options follow, giving it to her is heartbreaking, not giving it to her will not prevent her from going out and getting killed. You will find her white ribbon covered with blood near the pig in the sewers. Later you go back to her home where her older sister looks for her and you can give her that and she goes mad, and other options lead to some more tragedy.

there is one more story boss after this one.
you can get +9 from the game, but in limited amounts. you can only get _one_ +10 item per story playthrough. you get it by taking the elevator from mergo's loft middle and going through an open window.
you keep everything in ng+ except for keys and other key items. you will need to unlock all areas again. there is really no point in ng+ unless you want to level up faster.

I miss the Stake Driver
Those were some fun hours, killed 2 bosses with it too. But alas, kirkhammer and then ludwig just outshone it in every way
Definitely, I would say even the Hunter's Axe is a bit better than it in general but even the less effective weapons feels fantastic and are fun to use.

You need to eat 3 umbilical cords asap. Go find them and "use" all 3 before you fight last boss, which will trigger a 2nd last boss after you defeat the first one.
2) Confused what you're asking for this, but basically, to get the +10 item, there is an area in
Mergos Workshop somewhere, where you drop that big brain, in that area is the blood rock.

They could have just made it insight dependent or when the red moon appears like they did with all the other ones. Also I feel like they downgraded these dudes. The ones we got don't have all the crazy eyeballs.
I've accidentally hit NPCs too. I don't think they get angry right away like in Dark Souls. When I tried to murder someone they spoke when they turned hostile.
