I was at the same point as you yesterday. All i can say is that
Upper Cathedral
let me rage pretty hard.
 
I beat the
Shadows of Yharnam
yesterday on the first try, felt pretty good. Then I realized that are probably pretty easy to begin with and then I felt less badass :p

Also got like 5 new armor sets yesterday :o After using the same one since the start :p

You're going the right way, try to get past it and there will be a lamp for you.

I'm behind the 8-ball on Bloodborne compared to the rest of you, but my co-op partner and I made it into the Forgotten Wood tonight and worked our way through to where the
Suspicious Begger is. Decided to kill him because I'd heard bad things, and it turns out Poison Knives work a treat on him - just stood in the doorway and he couldn't get through :D
 
You can use up blood vials really quickly. Last session I played, I had 99 in storage and couldn't hold any more. I just killed VA and have 0 blood vials and none in storage. Need to go farm for a while.

Don't think I've met that character... Who/where was he exactly?

EDIT: Never mind, I looked him up. How did you find out his name? I've noticed a lot of people have discovered the names of NPCs, but they either never introduce themselves properly to me or give me any indication who they are.
 
As a souls noob I was quite impressed with myself finding out that I needed to go into the house to upgrade my weapons lol. Managed to plough through to the bridge and killed all the enemies including that huge bastard banging on the door without upgrading anything haha.

I feel stupid, but surprised with myself to get through it. Died about 8 times with my first time with it last night. Work needs to hurry up and finish now though so I can have 4 days of it. I played 10 hours of demons and 10ish hours of dark souls and whilst I enjoyed it, I wasn't fully engaged (was playing way too many games at the time) but I can't stop thinking about different strategies and stuff whilst at work for Bloodborne.

I'm finally starting to see the love for this series :D
 
Oh wow, this game is even more stunning without a HUD. I turn it off now before each SS.

even with a summon I still used 16 blood vials, he just wrecks me with the exploding attack

Now Im in the castle and
queen vileblood girl
wont talk to me, I guess thats because Im in the hunter coven? Says she wont give an audience to an ill mannered beast
If I kill her what will happen?

edit; oh fuck I cant even do her damage

if you want you can just kill her, takes a few hits.
She drops something with which you can call her back later on.
 
Man, I've had such shit luck finding NPCs. I just saw that apparently
the whore is vital to getting the good ending
? I've already beaten Rom so I'm guessing my chances on getting that are fucked lol.

well,
whores are always vital,
but not so much for the ending as there are 4 possible items to gather for it when you need "just" 3 of them.
 
Question: Whilst playing last night I knocked on a door and some woman spoke and asked me a question as if I could say yes or no, but the game only made me say no. Is there something I can do to say yes for me to get a special item off her or something? I can't remember for the life of me what she said but it stuck out to me as it seemed like the only worthwhile conversation from knocking on doors.

I've filled up 40+ gigabytes on my drive with videos and screenshots from Bloodborne. Going to make a montage series of "my first NG" highlights for my own personal enjoyment.

yesterday. Easy mode with two or more people.

And yet it still took me all day to beat him due to co-op with muppets that did not know what they were doing...or me being a muppet but I finally managed to beat him last night.

Yaharghul can go get fucked. What a brilliant, terrible zone.
 
This game is incredibly dense. Right now I've conquered all bosses up to and including
Ameila
and am now checking out three paths.

1.
The Forest Area
2.
Nightmare Frontier and Amygdala (How do you fight this thing!?
3.
Darkbeast Paarl. Same thing as #2, how do you beat this thing!?

ok then, without spoilers, go to cathedral ward waypoint, go up the lift in the sideroom, cross bridge, jump down, in the pit look closely for a hidden balcony with a closed door. Get there and go inside. If you can stand the mindfuckery there might be one item in there. You will get another one from beating a boss in one of the nightmare maps (after yahar gul)
 
Wow, absolutely wrecked BSB with the parries. I thought it would give me a hard time, apparently not. The area before the boss had me on my toes the entire time. Game is absolutely brimming with atmosphere.

#2 - Attack the arms and low-hanging head every chance you get.

#3 - Aggression worked for me. Dodge his sweep attack and then get in there. Drill him in the head enough times and he loses his electric charge. Then he's on the ropes. He will still swipe from time to time but keep on him and just beat him down.

This one is tough, the only thing that gets it are hits to the head...I used the cannon to parry it a couple times in coop, and got it down to less than half dolo by using the axe to reach up and hit its face....all I gottfor that one.

this one is easy with a a few levels...but dont raise too many as it gets too easy.
