So, I've just beaten
BSB
, and I realised that I missed an NPC encounter earlier in the game (
Eileen
). Am I fucked? Was she easy to miss? Because I feel a bit stupid for not seeing her.

Edit: I've just noticed that 70% of players have beaten the first boss now. That's pretty impressive to me.

I'm wondering this too. I never ran into her, somehow.

What were the Chalices with good treasure or drops or whatever that people were talking about earlier in the thread? I forgot to save the name/information for creating that dungeon and just now unlocked the ability to do the ritual.

You can find them on reddit but just so you know, you have to have actually created that chalice before to be able to use any of the shared ones.

How does physical damage reduction on armor work?

There's a physical damage reduction and one for blunt and trust? How does blunt/trust work versus the physical damage overall?

gorgeous, nice work on the panos

I beat
BSB and now I can't find the next boss. I don't have the badge to open the big gate outside the Cathedral where the giant is going up and down the stairs. I've searched for new paths and somehow ended up fight a beast made of electricity or lightning. He destroyed me. Where the hell do I find that badge? Or how do I find the next boss?

I also found a crying girl before the electric boss and she won't talk to me. I'm assuming later if you beat the boss she'll talk to her and you can send her off to a safe spot.

You can either
buy The badge for 10k in the dream, or go back to the cathedral lamp and go down the stairs and up the elevator on the right to get to a tower and go down that way to get to the gate from the other side.

Thanks, that is what i thought. I hit the
baby only with a shot, and Arianna died too. I just wanted to ask to make sure that i didnt accidentally hit both at the same time.

So that's what happened. I'm kind of relieved. I thought I had accidentally
killed her
in the process.

How are people fighting VA without using the hunter key on that gate? I had to buy it to even get to that area.

Still can't beat her by the way. Should I just continue on to the left and right sections, or go back to old yarnham? Did I find that area too soon?

do you have fire paper? I finally did it using fire paper to do more damage, and lots of rolling to get behind her.

Left/right behind the cathedral - right got me absolutely slaughtered by three hunters? including one with an
electric attack
. Can I ignore that area or is it useful?

You can buy the badge for 10k souls at the place where you buy all the other stuff (the lower fountain near the leveling up doll). There is another way around though, but i dont remember where to go.

As for the crying woman, you need to use a church outfit. Then she will give another dialouge when talking to her.

Anyone have tips on quickly killing those snake head enemies? I keep getting hit and can't avoid.
Best I can offer is parry-riposte to gain back any health you lose. If you can find them before they go all head asplode, stun lock them to stop them from reaching that stage. The snake head guys are a colossal pain in the ass.

I'm around level 50, do you guys think I'm underlevelled for Amygdala? It seems very killable but I just can't seem to make it during his third stage. I've been told it's an easy one as well but it's giving me trouble. And for the first time in the game it's difficult to find people to summon.

The only other place I have left to go to is the Rom fight but he seems optional and a little annoying.

Nah, I beat him (her?) at around 50. Just stick to attacking his arms, especially when he slams them down and rush him then back out quickly when he does his laser attack.

I'm wondering this too. I never ran into her, somehow.

So I missed her on my first playthrough but figured out how to get her to show up.

1) If you meet her in the sewers, she will stay there until you at least start a fight with Vicar Amelia (you can lose or leave via hunters mark if you don't beat her) and she'll show up outside the door straight ahead of the Cathedral Ward lamp on the left. At that point, she'll tell you not to go to Tomb of Oedeon lamp, since Henryk has turned and is waiting there (you can confirm by attempting to warp there, as it shouldn't let you).
2) If you don't meet her in the sewers, I believe she is there by the time you get to Cathedral Ward for the first time, where she will give you the same things she does if you saw her at the sewers. I've never tried this method since I've always seen her in the sewers before I got to Cathedral Ward. I'm assuming she stays there and only updates her dialogue once you fought Vicar Amelia.
3) From there you can help her out in the Tomb, but beware Henryk is pretty strong if you're low level. I tried rushing in and he killed me pretty quickly. I tried a second time doing much better but then he ended up focusing on Eileen and killed her instead - effectively ruining my questline for her. I would only enter it at a higher level or be ready to spam poison knives, as she needs to survive to complete her questline. If she dies, you only get her Badge. Also, be careful not to hit her either, since I believe she can aggro you after the fight if you hit her, also ruining her questline. I believe you can do this up until you fight and beat Rom, at which point she moves to the Grand Cathedral and you must fight the Chikage hunter to finish the questline.

I beat the
Cleric Beast
last night and was surprised to realize it was only my third try. I'm still taking things very slow but that was a big confidence boost. I did find it annoying that parrying did not seem to work at all during that fight. Does the
Cleric Beast
have no stun window or did I just miss the timing?

Regarding the NPCs,
the crying woman in the basement, the one that you can talk to using the church outfit, and the girl that gives you the music box. I sent both to Odeon Chapel, but they are no where to be found. I also sent the grumpy guy there. He arrived at my first playthrough (although he didnt do anything, he just accused me of lying all the time), but on my 2nd playthrough, he didnt, eventhough i talked to him and mentioned Odeon Chapel. Am i missing something? If not, its kinda a pity that those NPCs wont arrive at Odeon Chapel. I think that would have added more to the game

So that's what happened. I'm kind of relieved. I thought I had accidentally
killed her
in the process.
Seems like it.
Its a sad destiny for Arianna. Either she gets killed at the Iosekfa clinic, or she gives birth to a monster (and optionally gets killed if the baby dies) :\

EDIT: Damn, i forgot to put the spoiler tags for some seconds, hope no one got spoiled.

warped to the cathedral ward lantern and went back towards Odeon to see if I could beat the hunter there (I didn't), but I noticed someone on the floor behind me that I didn't even know was there before, because I always go straight ahead from there. She says she is a safe place to tell people about.

So, after hanging out in the cathedral forever
Arianna
just vanished. I've killed all main and optional bosses up to the Wet Nurse. Is there a trigger I missed? I still will have 3 Cords so no biggie...

N
ightmare
of M
ensis
could be the worst level I've ever played. At least the start. It feels like I'm playing Call of Duty, and avoiding enemy turret fire.
