Bloodborne |OT3| I Cane, I Saw, I Conqu- YOU DIED

It was a use item in demon souls, causes your weapon to do arcane damage. Same thing in bloodborne, both are white slugs that cause arcane damage when rubbed on weapons
Ah ok, i see. For some reason, i didnt see that it mentioned this in the link that you posted. I remember that from
Demon's Souls. "The Great One" sounded like the last boss in Demon's Souls, but i remember those slugs enemies in the game too :) Like in the room before the Old Hero.

all the people talking about farming and grinding...
how come I went through this whole game without ever doing that ? Im not even good at it really...

That would help, but it is unfortunately a band-aid. People can just kill the bell ringer and it is done. The Multiplayer system is flawed from its main design. The lack of a proper duel system will kill the long term PvP community. There are only random, sporadic invasions.

Shame. I get it, different game means different priorities, but still. I would have preferred if they left out all online functions and allocated those resources elsewhere if they weren't willing to implement them properly. They could have stood to make chalice dungeons a bit more interesting.

Yeah, I don't see how anyone can say this is a worse game than DS2.

Most major issues Bloodborne has can be patched, and ever if they're not it would still be a better game.

Just got to the
Unseen Village.
Wtf FROM calm down.

Cant find the 3rd bell maiden. Little annoyed they respawn. Thought it'd be like the necromancers from Dark Souls. And the one in
Nightmare Frontier
doesn't.

Thre shortcuts/level design in this game are incredible though.

What's this?

Bosses can bug out and just not do anything but a few attacks. Happened to me when I first did M
artyr
L
ogarius
where he did nothing but basic melee slashes regardless of how far away I got. NG+ I saw the full moveset finally. A late game boss M
ergo's
W
et
N
urse
seems like a common one as well.

I was in a party with my friend while he was playing and
he never had Vicar Amelia heal/saw her ever do anything beyond some basic attacks. He had the same thing happen at Logarius.

The most annoying thing is it can be hard to tell if that happened and you 'really' beat it.

The PvP issue is a fundamental design flaw, not a bug. If someone's main draw to the game is the social aspect then yes I could see them rating it lower than DS2.

If you dupe your level to an obscene level PvP will not work for you unless you find another duper. I have found the co-op works almost all the time when you are in a reasonable level range for the boss. For instance I rang the Resonating bell at cleric beast (just to fight him again) at lvl 70 and I did not find anyone. I then went to Cainhurst and rang at the boss and within 30 seconds i watch matched.

I am starting to think people who say it does not work dont understand the match making system.

It is based on where you ring the bell and what level you are.
Yeah, i think that is how it works indeed. It would be nice to know the exact conditions for matchmaking. I'm currently at level 150 or something (i havnt duped). Sometimes its easy to find someone, but other times i've waited like 10+ minutes and i didnt get any matches. It also depends on when you're playing (it might be less people playing at night for example). And like you mentioned, which area you're at also matters. Its a pity that there is no way to know for sure which area that is most popular and where most people are willing to do co-op.

Just beat the game after putting in 44 hours. I enjoyed almost everything about it, but the
refuse ending
was so unsatisfying to me. I liked what story and mystery there was, but I feel like they were too vague this time around.

"Eh" is not a very good feeling to walk away from a game with, no matter how good it is overall! :-)

I'm going to copy pasta my post on Kotaku:

There are several reasons why the game has you become a Hunter and go through the whole process of slaughtering just about everything.

1. Your duty is to purge the cause of this beastly curse for the “survivors” and other Hunters. This means hunting down and killing the Great Ones that are the cause of this fiasco since they really should not exist in this plane of existence. This is why if you choose to surrender your life to Gehrman, you are effectively banished from ever having to deal with this beastly nightmare. This is why this particular ending has you wake up to a picturesque view of morning in a decidedly empty Yharnam, because it is a literal ghost town and there are no beastly nightmares to deal with.

2. You hunt and kill just about everything as a way to demonstrate that you are the strongest. But displaying this strength is exactly what one of the Great Ones want (the final, final boss), because they desire a new vessel (more like vassal) to exert their power/control. This is why if you just beat the “final” boss (not “final, final boss”), you effectively become Gehrman. Gehrman is partly responsible for managing this nightmare. He may not have created it, but he is duty bound to manage it. This is why killing Mergo’s Wet Nurse and ending the nightmares reveals the house in Hunter’s Dream being in flames. There was nothing left to sustain the Hunter’s Dream as it existed in its own microcosm.

3. If you are doing the True Ending, then you are slaughtering everything to become the strongest so that you can reset the world as a Great One. This ending assumes that you have been paying attention to the various lore about the Great Ones that are scattered all over Yharnam. Part of the reason why the Beast Curse/Plague came about was exactly because some people got the “bright idea” of trying to commune with the Great Ones and a few others got the “bright idea” of even becoming a Great One or of creating a Great One by their own means. Their desire for ever more power was what summoned the Great Ones into this realm and once that happened, it was pretty much too late for anyone within Yharnam to do anything about it.

Mid/late game is there anywhere better to farm vials than, you know, the first area of the a game?
Witches abode lamp. Backtrack from the lamp and kill the villagers, the cleaver cape guys x3, and the ogre with the hammer.

You can also just farm Lecture Hall floor 2, you get tons of echoes and can max out your vials or anything else quickly

this boss bug is souring my experience looking back at it, as I bet I was hit with it a lot from what im reading

Amelia
never healed for me,
Micolash
just tried to punch me (I thought it was a joke by from actually),
Wet Nurse
never split in 2... thats a fucking shame

hopefully ill get the "full" experience one day when / if I replay it

Me and mah slug friends

Can BSB not be staggered in NG+ or does my timing just suck now?

He's
SUPER parryable. Look for his predictable right-arm swipe (YOUR left)
.

How do you take full screenshots in the game?

The timing of the ps4 suspend patch really fucked over this game.

Thing is that the basic design of the PvP for these games is that they were designed for invading, as in you get invaded by someone trying to dick you over while you're in the middle of doing something, not "tip your helmet and bow in front of the stairs in Anor Londo" honorable dueling that it became for some reason. Seems like they're trying to get away from that.

So yeah, the saving feature in this game doesn't play well with power surges. I lost the progress I made today to the save being corrupted.

Thankfully, if there was ever an argument to be made for the virtues for cloud saving, it was certainly this situation.

What I did:

-beat Rom
-finished Eileen's storyline
-killed Iosefka after her miraculous conception happened
-unlocked the Lecture Hall

It's really not a shitload of progress in the long run, but it sucks all the same since I did spend some time farming blood for a particularly weapon you get from the end of that storyline, which is unfortunate, to say the least.

Was running through random chalice dungeons trying to find those stupid electric centipedes so I could farm Arcane Haze... found the Arcane Extractor instead. You can get 5 Haze from pretty much every chalice item, including Ritual Blood (1). So good.

Also, this Level 5 dungeon is the hottest of bullshit. Didn't even know the
normal aliens shot lazorbeams CONSTANTLY.

But they didn't get away from that, they made it worse. It's almost impossible to invade someone outside of the areas that have bell women in them by default.

If you mean without my character in view, that's just clever positioning. Can take a while.

No i mean full sized, not tiny twitter pictures.

it also means im not as good as I thought I was afterall lol. I bet ill go back to being destroyed in DS2 and having to resort to summons again

It basically the same deal though, in DeS and DaS they had human and soul form, so when you wanted help you'd go into human form and search for signs while being at risk of invasions, other than that you just stayed in soul form. This is more or less the same in that you only get invaded when you're ringing for co-op. I just think they should make it so you can kill the bell woman.

There is always NG+ :) Regarding
Micolash
, i think that is a scripting bug. I think the programmers want you to
jump down after him. If you rather sprint all the way around instead of jumping down, he will just run the same pattern over and over again. If you jump down after him, he will go to the area that the developers intended.

How so?

So I still don't understand what part of the chalice dungeon is procedural generated.

Are the main dungeons and depths fixed until you use a root chalice?

Cause I've seen that the first depth of the first dungeon appears to be fixed going off of videos I've seen around.
