At what I'm guessing is the point of no return. I've resorted to Playstationtrophies.org to mop up anything I've missed before I hit NG+ (forgive me blindGAF).

Turns out I've missed 2 whole areas - and I only found another place because I'd heard about it already. There's some Painted World level shit in this.
 
Jesus fucking christ. The
ceiling slimes
have such a huge hitbox in Isz Chalice, it's so stupid. One grab and you're toast, too. With 50 VIT. So cheap.
 
So Im still in the beginning though I found the first short cut, I have no bullets, no molotovs, no pebbles, and no echos to buy them with. How screwed am I?
 
btw whats with those frenzied blood items? have not used any since I keep thinking its going to have some sort negative effect when I claim them lol
 
When I can actually connect to a damn match the pvp in this game is unrivaled. I just had a two minute duel with a scythe user in the Nightmare Frontier... it was so sick.
 
So how are you supposed to kill
Bloodletting Beast
? Crap hitboxes + shit camera + hits that do 70% - 90% of your health that don't seem like they can be dodged = one of the most monotonous and boring fights ever. Do they just expect you to grossly out level the main game, or wait until you're done with the main game?
 
Hey, I finally killed the
Gatling gun guy by pushing him off the tower, but he fell inside some sacks on the other side of a boundary fence. Does he ever respawn or am I doomed to never have his drops on this save?
 
In Central Pthemeru Chalice Labyrinth, is it normal to receive a
Uncanny Saw Spear
instead of the
Short Root Chalice?

I'm trying to find the latter on Layer 2 but can't figure out if I use the regular dungeon or the labyrinth...

Just respawn and the item
will be on top of the building. I also pushed him off the ledge, but then i also fell off right after. Then i just went to the top of the tower again and his dropped item was there.

The second floor door takes you to the next story area. The one you get to via the first floor door is an optional one, but also clearly the easier of the two going by monster damage / hitpoints / gimmicks / environmental fuckery.

You kind of have to fight him like a Dark Souls boss. Hopefully your weapon has a decent range. Wait for him to do his 3 hit combo, sneak in one hit, back away. Takes forever, but it's the only safe route. You can sneak them in sometimes after his double hand slam, also. Additionally...
he is weak as shit to poison. One knife will poison him and do about 1/8th of his health. You could cheese him with 20 knives and backdodging pretty easily.

But, to answer your question: Chalice dungeons don't level up with NG+. I think 4+ is definitely something you should tackle after beating the game at least once.
 
some questions.

i'm a veteran Souls player, having plat'd Demon's and Dark. I don't have much time for BB, so get maybe an hour a day, making it considerably more difficult to remember layout/etc.

There are a few things I don't want to google because i don't want extreme spoilers...

1) I don't understand the summoning system. I hear it costs insight, so I'm wary to even test it. I'm currently working on Old Yharnam and wouldn't mind some help, but don't know if i've even 'unlocked' coop yet. I know i have to ring a bell, i think i have that... but does it matter where i ring it?

2) are the coldblood dew things just 'souls' in storable inventory form? i never really used them in *souls (inventory hoarder), but i'm assuming it's approximately the same thing,

3) parrying... i seem to be able to parry medium size enemies with my gun (like the troll banging on the door). but the bigger the enemy, the harder it seems to be to parry... is the goal to hit it just before it hits you (as in, very late in its swing).

4) I can't figure out any direction to go other than Old Yharnam... I found the huge closed gate but that's locked. So is OY the next destination?

5) beginner's guide to insight? does it matter if i spend it?

There is a way to get there (the 1st floor) quite early on. I definitely stumbled all the way to the
Nighmare Frontier
way before I had any reasonable way of dealing with that was waiting for me.
 
Darkbeast Paarl is so easy if you fight him at the proper stage in the game. My first one-shot if I dont count the failed attempts from 25 levels agO after kidnapping lol

Just had my first rage quit, gonna spend an hour or so away before going back.

Lower Pthumeru Chalice - Depth 3

I thought Rom was the end of the dungeon but noo, there's a whole 4th level to it and the black goo things that fall from the ceiling keep getting me!!

And I was complaining yesterday the chalices are too easy!
 
FUCKING FINALLY! Just beat E

after god knows how many tries. Don't think I've fought a boss more frustrating than that and it was the first time I had to intentionally farm blood vials since I wasted so many on each attempt.
What gets me the most is that save for one attack it's a pretty easy boss fight but either it does that charge thing that screwed me over or I ended up getting trapped in a corner due to the rocks.
