Can anyone answer this question without spoiling anything: is there a
boss
in the
Forbidden Woods
? I feel like I've been everywhere here.

Yes.

FUCKING FINALLY! Just beat E
brietas
after god knows how many tries. Don't think I've fought a boss more frustrating than that and it was the first time I had to intentionally farm blood vials since I wasted so many on each attempt.
What gets me the most is that save for one attack it's a pretty easy boss fight but either it does that charge thing that screwed me over or I ended up getting trapped in a corner due to the rocks.

Ya I finally finished that fight last night. My gun saved my ass, contributed like 50% of the damage I did that fight.

So how are you supposed to kill
Bloodletting Beast
? Crap hitboxes + shit camera + hits that do 70% - 90% of your health that don't seem like they can be dodged = one of the most monotonous and boring fights ever. Do they just expect you to grossly out level the main game, or wait until you're done with the main game?

?

I thought it was a not so difficult fight.I kept standing between it's legs(and a little bit from his back) and hit it,then dodge back, waiting for it to attack again and repeat.

Just killed
Amygdala
on my first try! Quite easy tbh. It's so slow it's very easy to just stay behind her. Only thing you gotta watch out for is when it stomps it's feet. And when she jump up to move away from the player. Which actually makes it easier because she always jumped away from me and landed with her back aimed at me. Easy kill. :D

The second floor door takes you to the next story area. The one you get to via the first floor door is an optional one, but also clearly the easier of the two going by monster damage / hitpoints / gimmicks / environmental fuckery.

.

ok thanks

Also i havent had much trouble helping others kill bosses. My co-op experience is just fine

some questions.

i'm a veteran Souls player, having plat'd Demon's and Dark. I don't have much time for BB, so get maybe an hour a day, making it considerably more difficult to remember layout/etc.

There are a few things I don't want to google because i don't want extreme spoilers...

1) I don't understand the summoning system. I hear it costs insight, so I'm wary to even test it. I'm currently working on Old Yharnam and wouldn't mind some help, but don't know if i've even 'unlocked' coop yet. I know i have to ring a bell, i think i have that... but does it matter where i ring it?

2) are the coldblood dew things just 'souls' in storable inventory form? i never really used them in *souls (inventory hoarder), but i'm assuming it's approximately the same thing,

3) parrying... i seem to be able to parry medium size enemies with my gun (like the troll banging on the door). but the bigger the enemy, the harder it seems to be to parry... is the goal to hit it just before it hits you (as in, very late in its swing).

4) I can't figure out any direction to go other than Old Yharnam... I found the huge closed gate but that's locked. So is OY the next destination?

5) beginner's guide to insight? does it matter if i spend it?

1) You should already have the Beckoning Bell, use that to summon people. If you want to help others, buy the bell from the vendor in the hunters dream when you have 10 insight(It's the first left inside the house, looks like the other vendor).

2)Yes

3) Pretty much. The windows vary depending on enemy and attack. Some can be really small, others can be large, you kind of have to experiment a bit.

4) OY is a good choice when looking for your third boss.

5) Insight is used to summon help and buy items from a vendor. You can spend it as you wish, though the vendor only appears at 10 insight. The more insight you have, the harder the game gets. The first threshold for that happening is 15 insight, so keep it below that if you don't want an extra challenge.

Does enemy respawn change depending on NG+? I'm seeing enemies I'm positive they weren't there on my first play through.
The tall lady monster the witch boss spawns are in the graveyard area

Is it possible to get
Eileen's weapon without killing her? I ended up killing her before I knew she could be friendly, looking for my alt.

is there anything else interesting do? I'm at the very end of the game just got 2 bosses remaining.

Can I go help others? or can I only help in locations where I haven't beat the boss? (which basically mean I cant do any helping since at end game)

I think that's something insight related, NG+ enemies are the same.

In Central Pthemeru Chalice Labyrinth, is it normal to receive a
Uncanny Saw Spear
instead of the
Short Root Chalice?

I'm trying to find the latter on Layer 2 but can't figure out if I use the regular dungeon or the labyrinth...

Reposting, seeking answer please.

I don't see a Short Root Chalice in my inventory and that sounds like the same place I found an Uncanny Saw Cleaver.
Maybe?
Jesus fucking christ. The
ceiling slimes
have such a huge hitbox in Isz Chalice, it's so stupid. One grab and you're toast, too. With 50 VIT. So cheap.
That's disconcerting.
I stopped leveling ~75 with 30 VIT. It felt like more than enough. Might have to start pumping VIT again since I'm not even on a PvP character yet. Speaking of chalices. I started on a new type. I forget the name, but I found an old boss again (early boss)
Blood Starved Beast.
I killed it without being hit once. PERFECT. Also finally caught up to my old save. Knowing what was coming I spent all of my (enemy combat mechanic spoiler)
insight
before heading into that area. I managed to get through the whole thing without that attack hitting me. Oh well. Safety first.

(late game boss)
Daughter of the Cosmos
dead. Feels like I'm heading into the home stretch. It's been excellent.

That happens when you have 15 or more insight as far as I'm aware.

tsk, I'll play the game 3 TIMES to get the endings. probably even more during the year

no, those enemies are there because of your Insight. NG+ doesn't add more enemies.

edit / beaten.

Is it possible to get
Eileen's weapon without killing her? I ended up killing her before I knew she could be friendly, looking for my alt.

Yes. You can follow her quest to the end and, like most NPC hunters, she'll give you a badge that opens her equipment in the messenger shop in the hunters dream.

Ok just got home from work and brought bloodbourne, its not my first souls game but will be my the first one I beat, I hope lol.

Also new ps4 owner, my wallet isn't happy.
Aaaand im stuck at the cleric boss, not cool. The game is amazing but I have a hard time staggering things to do that cool thing

is there a limit to how much you should level a weapon? for instance I am using kirkhammer but don't know if I like it more than sawblade, but I have about 50 bloodshards so does it matter that much?

also how do you summon a specific friend, and I have the small bell to call but don't see the other one in my inventory to go out and help?

Super
Ebrietas
in this Chalice dungeon, is also the worst. I don't remember dodging her charge this obscenely random.
Oh I do. The trailing damage from her appendages is really fucks up
This thread moves too fast.

Asking again. Any use for the Tear Stone or Gold Pendant? Or can I just use them bow
No use, you can use it

Shards and twin shards aren't an issue, but don't spend chunks lightly

Managed to beat R
om on my second try. Not bad, getting in some hits and running like hell worked pretty well. On to the next area and holy crap I'm in for some serious pain aren't I?

Don't worry about that until stuff starts requiring blood stone chunks

First 2 bosses went down pretty easily on NG+ (Ok,
Father G
killed me twice).

Seem like they are not doing much more damage but they definitely have a lot more HP. The first one took quite a few hits to die (with a +10 Ludwig Holy Blade).

I think the fact that the game is shorter than previous souls games has me much more motivated with Ng+. I feel excited to play it again right away. With Dark Souls I would often wait a few weeks before starting NG+, to play some other stuff after spending like 50 hours with the game in the first playthrough

Forgot I had this, but in honor of the previous OT:

Praise the moon!

Ugh... so me and a friend have been trying to Co op a chalice for a while now... why isn't this working? We are Both in the same chalice at the same area, I rang my bell, he rang his, we can see each other as spirits, but no luck actually joining up. We are within 10 levels of each other as well. what gives?

Have you put in the password in the network settings?

Rebooting the console can help with network issues. My friend and I found that ringing the small bell first, wait until 3 seconds after the "Searching..." text appears and then ringing normal bell works like a charm.

Blood gems. Use them to convert em.

EDIT: Maybe read the description first. But I haven't seen anything that indicates they shouldn't just be made into gems to socket.

So two hours in: already
beat cleric beast
first try, almost
beat Father G first try (mother fucker went berserk on me when he had less than 1/4 of health.. that and a tree got in my way)

Oh and guys... Did I just
Brutally fisted a pigs asshole

I got so excited when I thought I'd figured out a reliable way to dodge
Roms' ice-thing attack.
Nope! Still hits me half of the time.

So the game punished me for exploring the game early instead of reading online guides ?
Why just not make the NPC drop it it early ?

How is that a punishment? You're obviously gonna find everything if you look online so I don't see how it's a punishment for exploring

Yes, yes you did. And it won't be the last time.

D

P
aarl
down! Came in with a fresh mind after the full night of attempts... and fails... and got him on the 4th try. Level 35 with a +6 Kirkhammer with A STR scaling. Should have saved the post, but thanks to the poster who recommended the Pungent blood. I didn't think it would work, but it really was what helped me get to the last slithers of health. Gonna try this whenever I'm struggling from now on.

Now I gotta try to help
Eileen
