Hey all newb here I need some advice. I'm about to fight the third boas the blood soaked beast and I'm wondering is there a shortcut or a checkpoint before this guy? I really don't want to go through all of Old Y all over of I die which I prob will while learning its attacks.

There's two. The last one is at the top of the church that the werewolf jumped out of.

Holy sh*t - this is atrocious. It's the main shortcut to a late-game boss on NG+. How does this even happen?

No real spoilers in the video since all you see is an elevator that refuses to move...

There's also another elevator glitch that makes an optional boss impossible to reach. yay bugs.

From the lamp, you know how you can run straight and drop down the roofs, well there's a gated door that if open on the other side leads to where the werewolves are. Search for way to open the door.

the shortcut is on the way to BSB. it's the building where one of the werewolves jumps out at you.

Yes go into the tower the wolf burst out of right before the boss, go up the spiral stairs and open the jail cell door.

2 optional areas before moving on. They both have items you will want.

I was told roughly how to do it on here but going up thru the healing church, down all those falls, and up the lift to emerge in Cathedral Ward and finally get that item was awesome. Almost died a few times thru sloppy play...

First 2 bosses went down pretty easily on NG+ (Ok,

killed me twice).

Seem like they are not doing much more damage but they definitely have a lot more HP. The first one took quite a few hits to die (with a +10 Ludwig Holy Blade).

I think the fact that the game is shorter than previous souls games has me much more motivated with Ng+. I feel excited to play it again right away. With Dark Souls I would often wait a few weeks before starting NG+, to play some other stuff after spending like 50 hours with the game in the first playthrough

yep that is my experiance. I was take less damage per hit (Health bar %) than I did on all of the early bosses but I was only chipping away health. Still easy and actually more fun because I did alot more parrying and dodging.

there's no real order if you played it completely blind as the devs intended. most orders are usually suggestions as the most effective way to complete the game.

If you leave the church building and go to the left, there's a ladder you can climb to get back to the top.

If you haven't bought the key from the bath merchants to break the sequence, the only way forward is in that same area, but down. After the pathway to the building itself, go right. The walkway is cracked and you can drop one level down. From there... well, you'll see.

You can reach two separate areas, one of which gets you forward. The other one is a small dead end area that nets you some cools stuff. It is the original version of the hub area.

Go to the Cathedral boss. You'll need to buy the key for 10k souls or find the dangerous path there

yeah, i bought the 10k key, not sure where it works though...i took Baalzebup's advice, ended up wrapping around to a gate i could open making a shortcut in the cathedral ward, gonna go back & explore there more now

from the big round place, with the 2 huge dudes, one way leads to a door, that needs a password.

After searching for a while I gave up and had to use a guide to find out I was literally at that exact point lol.

I barely remember this place. Either way new area woot!

I was in the Cathedral Ward and I noticed this new enemy off to the corner that I never saw before even though I've been in this area numerous times. (area with the guy that gives you the fire paper) This enemy jumps at me and basically kills me in two hits. I die and I come to in this area I've never been before. There is a woman praying in one corner and a bunch of man beasts and those same enemies that killed me before. I go through this one path that takes me outside and I run into a boss fight. I forgot the name, dark pearl is something, but it was the one that IGN teased with the electricity. Basically I get my ass handed to me and I glady die so I can get the hell out of this place...BUT then I start right back in that same place again. I go up some steps to run into two more of those super strong enemies and THANKFULLY find a lantern. how the hell did I warp here? Was it because of that enemy killing me outside the Cathedral Ward? I need details people lol That humbled me real quick because I've been cruising through the bosses without any problems. BSB, Fa. G C. Beast...all killed in my first attempt...but this place...HUMBLE PIE!

your not supposed to beat that area at this point.I would say the appropriate time to farm there is around lvl 60. Before that its usefull for cheesing the bag dude to get twin bloodstone shards.

Your next boss is in the Cathedral Ward. But use this area to try to get your weapon to +4 or +5.

there's no way to avoid it. elevator bugs were happening prepatch as well for another boss.

You should have found multiple shortcuts on your way there. The last one is

inside the building to the right of the small bridge you cross, after you reach the kinda intact seeming village part with the werewolves. It takes you to/from the area you get to when you turn right directly after entering the Old Y area and go after the little beastie that drops blood shards. It allows you to basically to sprint your way to fight the BSB.

The one before that

leads to/from the base of the tower that Hunter Djura was at. It cuts past the church area after Djura, the one that has like 20 beasties there.

Hmmm I went to the level 2 of that dungeon and I'm ringing my resonant bell but it's not finding you (I'm lvl 123 so that should be within the +10 +10% bracket).

Edit: Ha wait the chalice glyph isn't the same that's probably why.

Yeah I realised that after. I thought I just had to be in the same Chalice for a second. I'm not sure I've got the strength to beat the first boss again, he's a pain in the ass :/

Hunter axe is seriously OP for its moveset. Saw cleaver with hidden dmg modifier + hunter axe for moveset is an insanely OP combo.
