first time earlier. The former cracked me up. It was like living out a Bloodborne version of the Eiffel 65 "Blue" video. The latter was mad as I had no vials and a sliver of health and yet was able to pull off 3 heavy blows to finish that prick off.
Just got 3/4 story bosses and 2 more optional bosses left to beat.
Oh and the
Nightmare Frontier
can fuck off. Worst area in the game by far for me. Adore every other area though.
That's pretty shitty. On the complete opposite end of that, I died during a boss fight earlier because my controller died. I really should pay attention to those low battery warnings in future.
People keep saying weapons are about preference as opposed to discovering new powerful weapons, and Im thinking it's true. So why bother with skill and strength when I can level up health and endurance. Is this line of thinking wrong?
Okay i will write my thoughts on the game. Played around 80 hours with 2 characters.
The Good
- Art style is amazing, best work FROM ever done.
- Level design equally amazing, lost of shotcuts and the interconnected zones feels like Yharnam is a real place.
- Combat is the best of all Souls games, i love the agressive shield-less playstyle.
- Blood Gem system adds more customization to your weapons.
- Lore is mindblowing outstanding with a lot of references to the
Cthullu Mythos
. Bloodborne is Miyazaki's love letter to
Lovecraft
.
- Solid framerate while playing solo.
- Chalice Dungeons add a lot of replay value, as it has unique boss encounters and enemies.
The Bad
- NG+ doesn't offer much other than a raise in the difficulty.
- Right now it takes too long for summon or be summoned.
- Framerate while co-oping is unstable, i got low 20's on
Cathedral Ward
and
Forbidden Woods
.
-
Rom
and
Headless Bloodletting Beast
boss fights. FUCK THEM. Seriously those two are among the worst fights in Souls, almost Bed of Chaos tier of bad.
The Ugly
- Loading times. If the loading screen contained some item descriptions it wouldn't be much of a problem, but looking at the Bloodborne logo for 30 seconds really turns me off.
Despite its flaws Bloodborne is still an amazing game and IMO the first true must-play game on this generation.

Me too. Just ran out of vials but I think I came to a semi-reliable strategy when I head back to him.
I was continually backing away from him hoping he pops up into the air to do that swoop attack. Time it right to dodge forward just when the swoop reaches you, and he should end up just behind you recovering. Do a powered R2 attack followed with a visceral attack. Hopefully it'll work next time I attempt him.
I'm half way through NG+ and I feel bored guys. I'm not having fun in PVP and I don't care about farming dungeons. This was an amazing game, but I don't think this game is going to get more hours out of me besides the 60 I devoted to it.
ughhhh, just found out I have to play through the game again because I messed up one of the collectibles needed for an ending...I really dont care anymore. This game is too hard for me and everything is too vague. Like, I dont mind not having my hand held...but just flat out not telling you anything is really annoying. Dont really want to playthrough the game again. I glitched to level 90 something and I am still getting my ass handed to me by random enemies

The ATK UP one boosts all attack stats of that particular weapon. Certain weapons do multiple damage types and PHY ATK UP naturally only helps with physical attack stats. You can also use it to buff a weapon that you've changed to do Fire, Arcane or Bolt damage via other gemstones that allow such.
Like seriously though - the boss AI bug I can stand. But this elevator not working nonsense? And I HATED the boss fight that happens nearby. I don't want to have to run all the way through to get there... Jesus.
No idea dude - I didn't do anything weird. Managed to get the key to a certain secret area that was nearby and then mainline it to this elevator. There are three NPC hunters in the area who I just avoided - maybe you have to kill them first? Who the f*ck knows. That wouldn't be the case though. Game is just f*cked.
Best Runes? I have one with all defence up by 4%, one with phys defence up by 3% and one that gives me more Echoes at the moment. Have a fuck load more but these seem the most useful. Guess I could replace the Echoes one with the 5% health raise one I have.
Run and then roll. It's the only way to avoid it. Also, if you stay reasonably close, it should be an issue. If you actually always run, you'll never get hit by the mobs in the area either. So just stay close (but not too close) and run in for a hit, then retreat. Repeat this. He'll never launch the long range stuff.
Rom is not a skill fight, it is a luck fight. It's the most out-of-control feeling fight so far. You can have the patterns down but , you don't know where things are coming and going. I present pure luck in video form.
