Fuck you
moon presence
wait
im a slug..
wtf
Haha. Yep, all this time you're a
fricken garden slug lol
.

Anyways, JUST FINISHED!!! Great game. I'd give it an 8.5/10. First half is 9.5/10 and Second half is 7.5/10. Just too many annoying enemies and levels in the second half. Anyways, last two bosses were tough and fun. Maybe I'll do a more detailed review tomorrow.

I'm sorry if this has already been asked, I'm avoiding spoilers so I've steered clear of this thread until now. When buying armor, is there an easier way to compare stats between what you're looking at and what you're wearing? I'm just going into the vendor menu, memorizing the stats, and then backing all the way out and looking at what I've got, piece by piece.

Does this game expand the search for invaders? Because whomever just invaded me had no business doing so. They went down in 6 hits.

So just how much are people leveling up? I'm at SL 125, but don't know if I should go higher. Got a million+ echos and don't know what to do with them.

Unfortunately that's the best way right there. It's a huge oversight.

*Whenever you equip a resistance rune you get status afflicted of that rune. So if you equip a Poison resistance rune your poison bar gets displayed and then it slowly starts to go down. Same thing for Frenzy.

I think this is normal. It also happened in the previous Souls games when you equipped status resist rings. Maybe your body is exposed to the poison/frenzy/etc and then your immune system fights it off and becomes stronger against it.

Well, since I'm unbanned now.

Here's my Hunter:

I'm 21 hours into the game, level 46 and I'm pretty sure I went somewhere before I had to.

I found Nightmare Frontier before being done with the Forbidden Woods.

If there is I never found it. Have to buy to compare. I ended up buying/acquiring everything so not really an issue.

Regarding your spoiler: I did the exact same thing, completed it too.

Am I in the wrong spot? I beat bsb then went back to the ward and found this
tower. Traveled up the tower and found a locked door so I went down. Go to this town and died. Ended up in a cell and found a lamp post. Problem is these sack guys are 1 shotting me. Any tips? It takes 3 parries for me to kill them.

Haha, you had the same sequence for things as I did, as far as that goes. No, you really don't want to tangle with that place just yet. Well, unless you're mad. If so, please go ahead and post results.

That be crazy, yo. Respect.

Go straight up the stairs. At the top of the stairs, wait for ball sack man to walk by. Then continue up. Touch the lamp and nope the fuck out. Come back later when you're like level fifty.

Quick question guys. I have the saw cleaver and the kirkhammer both at +3. The kirkhammer have a higher stats compared to the saw cleaver. But how come the saw cleaver can cause more damage than the kirkhammer? I,m at level 32 now.

Avoid em and run up til you find a lamp and get out of there. you just ran into death dealers btw, anytime they kill you you'll end up there

It's doable up until the boss. If you clear the boss at level 46 then please post a video...lol

I'm soul level 80, over 40 hours in, and I STILL can't bring myself to use any weapon other than the Hunter's Axe. It just really clicked with me for some reason

And I think my game bugged. Can't light the first lamp on
nightmare of mensis, after the first snake werewolf enemy

Well I tried to get back to Hunter's Dream, but I got some message about a lady ringing a bell and I couldn't use it anymore, so I explored a bit. Since I have Ludwig's Holy Blade +5 I kill the normal mooks there pretty easily, but I got ambushed by two hunters.

That weapon is INSANE.

If you want to kill them you can very easily, just go down the stairs and lure them down, they can't pass through so you can hit them from safe distance.

Just finished my NG+ run, did all the optional non-chalice bosses this time, missed a lot of good stuff on my first playthrough, but it almost felt like playing the game for the first time I had so many other bosses to kill and areas to explore. I can tell I was probably severely under leveled for
Gerhman
the first time I played through since I totally wrecked him this time. Think I'm going to try to do some of the chalice dungeons and if that doesn't catch my interest, I think I'll try a different build with a new character.

Scaling.

Each weapon has a stat that increase based on a certain attribute (strength/skill etc.). You like have more stats in an area that the saw cleaver favours.

It's because of this that my Ludwig blade was doing more damage than my more upgraded hunter's axe. The former has a B scaling for both Str and Skill whereas the axe only has C and D.

While I prefer the axe moveset, especially that charged R2 - the Ludwig just does so much more damage, even when you haven't upgraded it as much. The more you level, the more the above scaling comes into play and just completely wrecks the axe.

It's probably the best weapon. I ran the saw spear the whole game and loved it - except on bosses where the short swing radius is a huge problem.

So I just beat a boss (can't remember his name) in N
ightmare
of M
ensis
. I proceed to the next lantern and get invaded. The invader somehow misses me and runs ahead. I wait for him to turn around and come back, noticing he took an elevator I could see so I waved at him. Didn't notice. Suddenly, I get a cutscene of
A giant brain wrapped in chains falling into an abyss?
.

What the hell just happened? Did they trigger an event for me that I may not have wanted to? :(

nicest invader ever

damn I need to do that for someone

So I should
go back to the ward, descend down that tower again and avoid dying to the sack dude?

There are actually fairly easy to kill by 2 handing a Ludwig or any other heavy weapon. First, try to damage them from a distance using jump thrust attack (up+R2). Do not get near them as their punches and kicks destroy you. When their health is 4/5th, they go into a rage mode and that's your chance. Before they go into rage mode they stand still for 1 second (and another second or two till they become super saiyan). As soon as their health drops to 4/5th and you see them standing still, run up behind them and land a visceral attack from behind. Done.

I just accidentally found the
Celestial Emissary
on NG+. Never fought him before. Beat him first try. That was ridiculous.

Also, OMG the canon does so much damage.... Knocked off 30% of his health with just that.

WITCHES
DED

Where to now, O Gaf?

There is a door that asks for a password in the Cathedral Ward.
You got the password from watching the cutscene when you fiddle the giant skull on the altar after killing Vicar Amelia.
From the big center plaza with 2 giants, you go via the small doorway that leads to a crow and a small cthulhu-man/mindflayer. There is a passage to your left. Just follow that path to the end. Don't break the barrels and whatnot to get to the villager mobs, that is not the way.

There's more to that area.
Break the window.

I'm pretty sure that is a "joke" boss right before the hardest boss in the game. The Cannon is a boss killer...especially if you buff it.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye for that stats. :)

Yeah, he doesn't have a ton of health. Was all "oh fuck" when I stumbled onto the fight, but I destroyed him pretty handily.
Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos
right after him put me back in my place, though. :P

So I feel like I'm cheating using my gun on bosses now. I just killed A
mygdala
first time seeing it by only using my gun.
