I thought it sounded like Clara from ClariS.Do we know the singer of the song?
If not, it's someone who has a voice very similar to hers because the timbre is close.

Why are you saying that like this game absolutely must be compared to another? SMTxFE shares similarities with Persona. It also clearly has its own identity. Its own identity doesn't have to be diluted by having every single aspect of it relate to another game.

Alice graduated from the duo and was replaced by a girl named Karen. Both of their voices (Alice and Clara, tbh I can never figure out who is who because I've never heard them solo) are a bit less screechy than whoever they got to sing Reincarnation IMO.
The use of # as "Sharp" in popular culture is a very Japanese thing.

That IGN analysis was fine, but there's way too much Persona talk in it.
I don't feel like a lot of the Persona comparisons that are being brought up for SMTxFE are warranted. A lot of them feel like a stretch. There are some obvious parallels such as the 2-world set-up, or the high school setting, but their transformations aren't anything like "Personas," and characters aren't referencing Persona.
IGN put up a 23 minute rewind theater look on the trailer. One of the better ones they've done I feel.

IGN wrote a Devil Survivor Break Record preview that was entirely Persona comparisons. Atlus games aren't going to be able to get away from them as long as it's their biggest franchise.
We'll, don't a lot of Atlus games have a similar battle system? Like etrian odyssey, Devil survivor, and persona? It looks like a turn based game to me with 3 characters. I'm sure it'll have its own twist, but will be fairly similar to traditional SMT combatWait, whoa there. I have to specifically quote this in a reply: what do you mean by "SMT-esque combat"? If there's anything in the trailer I could say is absolutely different from anything SMT, it would be what we're seeing from the battle system.
I think "summon" is better than "Persona." Soon, people are going to start calling the demons in other Megaten games "Personas" if this keeps up.
Alice graduated from the duo and was replaced by a girl named Karen.
Clara has the richer voice in the mezzo range. If you listen to something like border, you can hear more recent similarities in timbre and the way she phrases her vowels.
Alice had the voice that could go higher that had less depth than Clara's. But I don't expect most people to be able to tell the difference like I can.
I don't think I'd call the vocalist in that trailer screechy. It's very calm, and the composition of the music is very similar to their more recent style over the past year.
You'd think one of them would have picked up on that, then.
Has anyone noticed that the faces are similar to the Smash bros faces? At least the red haired guy with Robin. Which is weird, since those don't look like FE characters. I wonder if they look like that in Smash because of this game.

It's all good. I figure I'd throw my speculation out there because I'm usually pretty good with these things.I know she did but I haven't kept up since Alice left.

Both IGN and GameXplain say "hashtag" thanks to modern day social media lol. Would be cool if one of them said 'sharp", but I don't blame them, I guess.
I think they may have gotten seiyuu to sing songs in this. I am sure Japan is probably trying to figure it out.

I never would, honestly. Not unless the person was sort of a japanophile and/or had seen a lot of anime. I have yet to watch the widow, but I imagine neither person fits that description.
This week was my first time hearing of this, myself.
You never explained how I misused idol
You keep using J-Pop instead of idol.
One of them said they lived in a Japan for several years, I honestly think they should have known.
I've played SMT 4, Persona 3/4, and a bit of EO. It looks turn based and it has the weakness system. It's of course going to be different, but still similar (since it's kind of a SMT game)Have you played those games? I really, really am not seeing the battle comparisons between SMTxFE and those games you mentioned. Is this the common opinion and I'm an outlier?
whats the difference and the reason for the distinction here.
*shrug* Honestly, I think you guys are being a bit unrealistic in what you expect IGN to know, in particular. The Persona comparisons happen and will continue to; For this game and others.
The series is popular and gaining. It's only natural they would mention that and not SMT. It would be great if people did their homework, but they're reporting on video games; the pressure isn't really there.

I'm just guessing though, based on the footage.
don't look to into the "SMT-esque combat" thing from my original quote. Just saying that it has its roots in SMT gameplay while being contemporary japan.
Its kinda like calling a rocker a country singer.

I've seen people say it looks like Grandia, which I haven't played, but Child of Light also cloned Grandia and I can see the comparisons to that game, although we haven't seen enough footage to really judge properly.
The weakness thing does look very megaten though.
I mean, what don't what these cats in the game are exactly and that comparison doesn't really work. Idol music is still jpop
Are you trolling? You know not all Jpop is idol but still insist of using them interchangeably like they are the same thing. Idol doesn't make the majority if Jpop ffs.I mean, what don't what these cats in the game are exactly and that comparison doesn't really work. Idol music is still jpop

Ew. Well, whatever, I guess. It's a testament to how much more recognizable the series is getting, I suppose. Just as long as Persona doesn't overshadow everything else Atlus does.
Well, Its really not the same thing. Idols can be pretty much in any music group and style, not only J-Pop. They could also not sing at all. They can be actors, politicians, promoters, or just have a weird ability that makes them popular.
I mean, there is not THAT MUCH of a difference since J-Pop is a huge part of Idol culture, but its not limited to just that and sometimes they have nothing to do with each other, so saying they are the same would be, well, wrong.
I don´t really mind, but there are people who have issue with not knowing the difference. I should know, my GF once got mad with me because I couldn´t tell the difference *shrugs*
What are you talking about. Are you trolling? You know not all Jpop is idol but still insist of using them interchangeably like they are the same thing. Idol doesn't make the majority if Jpop ffs.
I mean I aware of the difference. I follow idols and I listen to jpop. If were talking about idol music then were specifically talking about a performance style and presentation. As you mentioned yes there's curveball idol groups who music wouldn't be classified as pop but that's mostly the exception not the rule.
Like if we are gonna to be precise here were not exactly sure what to call these cats in this trailer since we have no context or understanding of what they are yet. Harping on this issue at this stage is playing semantics just because you can.
What are you talking about.
tbh, it's the same as when people think all Japanese music and videos look and sound like this:
its already doing that
To be fair, Persona does kind of overshadow any other output that Atlus has >_>...
No it isn't.
Not sure if these two were posted yet.

May I ask a naive question... why is Persona so popular? To be fair, Persona does kind of overshadow any other output that Atlus has >_>...
Yeah, the FE symbols and classes have been more or less known for some time. I'm really curious to see how FE classes will be incorporated into battles and used for strategies. Not sure if these two were posted yet.
