Lol can't wait to see your reaction to Yahar'gul. I actually really liked Forbidden Woods, it's one of my favorite zones in the game.

The
One Reborn
was the first boss to make me legitimately queasy >_<

I especially didn't like how the moon
poops it out at the beginning

Anyone have some suggestions for the O
ne
R
eborn
boss fight?

I know to kill the
witches up top to start off with,
but keep getting destroyed by the monster itself.

I'm running at level 62, with a +7 cane, +6 blade of mercy and a +5 Ludwig Holy Blade.

Also, as far as GETTING there, do you guys really just sprint?

Tips!

Shortcut: There is an elevator you can take from the bottom level to the top near the Unseen Village latern. To find the elevator, go out from the Hypogean Gaol lantern (when it was there), take the door outside and go left when you reach the road area and look around. You'll find it there, I believe. The elevator goes from bottom to top, but there's a middle landing you can walk out onto. It drops you off on a roof. There are two dogs you must kill, then you're right in front of the portal. Use portal, go up the stairs, across the bridge, kill the bell bitch, kill her minion, take the stairs and then sprint. You won't have blood flying at you that way.

To kill the One Reborn, focus on its back legs, and never its front, until you've got it staggered. Watch for the red glow appearing on the back legs, and roll away when you see it. When she's staggered, go round to the front and shred up the head a bit. Always be watching for raining body parts. If you use this strategy the fight isn't too bad. If you have a +6 or above weapon you'll be a-ok, just need to focus on the right parts :)

Oh and of course kill the bell bitches on the 2nd floor.

Nice man, any strats for Amy in the Defiled Dungeon? I got her down to like half health, playing really conservatively, but one mistake and it's over. Wondering if I'm missing something.

yeah, tbh, it only took me about four attempts playing it conservatively, it is frustrating when you get it down to like 30% after playing it slow then get one shot :/

I just stay far out of it's reach, hitting it's arms and sometimes it's head when it flailed about, always rolling unlocked

once it ripped it's arms off I just attacked it's legs/spine/tail thing constantly staying right next to it/under it (1-2 hits then it would jump, it will jump around a lot but never came close to hitting me, just roll when it does, takes a while since at +10 I was doing like 166 damage with two hit combos on it's legs, but it's safe) use bolt paper to speed things up slightly, but that's obvious.

Posted in the wrong Bloodborne thread. Here it is.

Went to the Nightmare Frontier, someone invades me. I don't feel like dealing with it so I run back to the lamp. Lamp doesn't let me teleport. So I say F it and get ready. Here is what happens. 2 minutes long.

Any reason why I didn't take any damage?

So another typical inconsistent from software game where for every 2 good areas there is one terrible one?

I really hoped they would have a bit more consistency in this game.

Ehh there is really only 1 truly bad area in the game design wise. The area You are hating is actually a favorite for many, it's level design is actually great and packed with smart shortcuts.

Forbidden woods was fucking awful. Such terrible design and it will be a major reason I won't do NG+. I just beat the shadow boss but that took me way too long to get everything and I just gated the design.

I thought that area was fine. Took a bit of time, but the shortcuts there are probably some of my favorites so far. Very well placed and made the run back to the boss (even though I beat it on my first try) more bearable.

It was another blight town for me. I got both shortcuts and didn't actually die but it did take me ages.

The level design was awful for me. Way too many similar looking areas.

I've enjoyed most of the areas until this part.

Who feels this title would be better if there was a damage penalty for hitting objects in the environment before successful hits? I personally think it would improve the game, removing using obstacles or environment traps to easily get kills.

I love, love love FoWo. The only part of the game that I didn't completely love was NiFro, but I kinda like how punishing it is, especially since the reward there is really quite good. You can even get
very early Blood stone Chunks

I think the main problem with the Woods was the amount of enemies for the size. Too many.

Wait which shortcuts did you get? There are 3 there with one being pretty close to the boss.

Thanks. I'll try again later today -- I think where I messed up big was when it ripped its arm -- I didn't get more aggressive and paid for it.

Alright, have all bosses beaten except for the last boss
or two :)...
. Loving this game, though it's noticeably more content-starved than the previous games. Doesn't bother me that much since the core gameplay is fantastic. The Lecture Building is the most drab, boring area in the game by far; didn't mind any of the other areas at all; even loved Forbidden Woods. (late game spoiler)
Didn't like the fact that Shadows of Yharnam became regular enemies in Mensis, hate that kind of stuff in games.

I believe I have all the items I am able to get in my NG run, but I'm conflicted if I should do Chalice Dungeons now or warp into NG+.

When starting NG+, do you retain all your Chalices and/or materials? Will you be able to generate Chalices immediately in NG+? What happens with any of your progress in a Dungeon after starting NG+?

I actually liked how large Forbidden Woods felt. My issue is that area was super buggy. If you try and do coop the framerate goes absolutely crazy at times and crazy stuff like the floor in the shortcut room wouldn't render at times or the elevator just straight up wouldn't work.

Upto the soft cap, you get the most bonus from lvling that stat. From soft to hard cap, the amount is less. From hard cap and on, you barely get any.

Interesting. That explains why it wasn't giving me as much as before recently.
So is it best to focus on other stats after you've reached the soft cap?

when he is around 50 % health
(after his AoE attack)
?
Till 50 % he is no problem and i don't get hit. But he is twice as fast and very mobile. Almost got him but a 3 hit slash combo from him finished me.

I tried putting my blood rocks in storage and using a chalice dungeon code that has one. It didn't work, I still got an insight item. Not really surprised, though.

WHAT THE HELL IS
YARGHUL
. WHY AM I IN A
JAIL CELL
. I'm afraid to go outside. :(

It's a really
easy section full of extremely friendly monsters who all just want a hug real bad. Don't you go and disappoint them now.

I call it cuddlesville due to the friendly atmosphere and lovable inhabitants
.

I'm a soul noob and BB is not as hard as i imagined :p

The thing about the games is that, for the most part, they are just a fair challenge. They aren't like oober cheap reflex-heavy things most of the time. You just need to pay attention, focus, and play smart.

There are some bosses which border on cheap, but usually when you think it's cheap, you're actually just missing some key strategy/approach.

I just played really conservatively, stayed far away until he did that attack where he jumps in the air and comes at you -- roll right when he hits the ground and you'll be able to get in 2 or 3 attacks no problem.

When he uses his sword in the ground attack, take it out. Other than that, no risks.

Wait which shortcuts did you get? There are 3 there with one being pretty close to the boss.

First one, gate in the house.

Next one, door which leads back to the first Lantern.

Final one, elevator from the big building which goes down.

It's academic really because I didn't die in the area or go back.

I had 80k souls on me when I fought the bossed because I thought I might get lost if I went back.

Any tips for the
Shadows of Yarnham
? I keep taking down the one shooting fireballs, then the other two wreck me.

Try to position yourself behind the large grave stone thing and the fire guy, then you can kind of handle the two others in peace for a bit, cuz the fire guy will be busy shooting the grave.

I think the main problem with the Woods was the amount of enemies for the size. Too many.

If we're talking about the big snake enemies, I agree. It felt like too much considering each one felt like a mini-boss. But the small ones die super easily and you are in a big forest. And a lot of them are hiding in the high grass/forested areas off the main path anyway.

So just started another hunter for pvp and some co op. Will cap him at lvl 80. Going to kill first three bosses (CB, FG, VA) via remote play: Challenge Accepted !!!

Equip axe in 2 hands

Add bolt paper

Stand behind the big Rock/stone thing.

Do the double spin and use that to pick them off one at a time.

Do laps and heal behind things when you are hurt.

Don't try to take him on when he does the fast slashes. For the last 50 % you want to just run away from him until he does that aerial attack. It's pretty easy to dodge, and you can get a couple of hits on him afterwards. After that run away again, rinse and repeat. He will almost always do that aerial attack if you run away from him.

Nothing cuddly about these fuckers at all! I just had to lure them to the stairs to cheese them because they do 3/4 of my health in one attack. WHAT THE FUCK.

Fireball -> Katana -> Firebreather is my recommended order. Bolt paper works great and keeping all three in your camera is the most important thing you can do. Also, I believe you can parry the katana guy.

I switched to a
faster weapon and it seemed to help a lot (used single handed ludwig's blade with bolt paper). Go for the fireball guy first then use the big gravestone to help separate the flame sword guy from the other one. take down none flame dude then if you're lucky the last guys AI will glitch causing him to strafe in a circle without attacking. I've seen it happen a few times now.

Alright, I've been trying to play through the first time without any help, so I haven't been reading the thread, but I think I need a hint. I have beaten six bosses,
Father G, Vicar Amelia, Cleric Breast, Blood-starved Beast, Witch of Hendrick, and Darkbeast Paal.
I'm pretty sure the next place I need to go is
Byrgenworth, which is allegedly in a twisted forest, so I've been searching Hemwick Lane but with no luck.

Can someone give me a nudge in the right direction? Maybe which lantern I should start my search from? Thanks!

A typical experience in the Forbidden Woods
