Farming Chalice Dungeons is tedious. Why did FROM have to hide the platinum behind grinding through all these chalice Dungeons?? I mean they all look the same inside and the early ones are tedious but easy so why can't I just do something hard to skip to the good ones? It is against the spirit of BB design to force you to linearly crawl through the early Dungeons. I started them too late because I didn't know and now I need to spend a long time dungeon crawling through all these easy ones to get to the later ones that have the good stuff...

I'm looking for advice on possible optional areas I might have missed. I'm clearing them before entering
the hidden village, version 2
.

I have killed:
Rom the spider
Witch of Hemwick
Darkbeast Paarl
Amygdala

And right now I'm just starting
Cainhurst Castle
. I'm level 66.

I feel like I have missed something because there are several trophies I don't have. Only location I can think of, that I haven't explored yet, (outside
the hidden village, version 2
) is the upper level of
lecture building
but I have no idea how to get there.

Any pointers?

I would continue with the main quest. You'll find a somewhat hidden item that will let you open up another optional area

Not sure how the cleaver behaves, but I love the stun locking and thrust attacks of Ludwig's.

I never used the Saw Cleaver but does it scale better will Skill? You have a lot.
I went with the LHB on my first character and got it to +10 and it was beast, the R2 greatsword charge attack is amazing and has a good followup. It really depends on the gems you have in both though as they probably have different gem slots. It's nice to have 2 different weapons so you can try new tactics all the same.

Ludwig's scales with ARC, too, and you have low ARC. Start pumping points into ARC and you'll see a big difference in damage output.

Thanks guys, maybe I should give LHB a chance and start pumping points into arcane.

flex those Destiny farming skills, yo

Any pointers for the chalice dungeon boss
undead giant?
It seems like it's going to be a really hard fight since I'm just getting OHKO'd over and over. I'm fairly certain not under levelled either.

Just woke up, my copy of Bloodborne arrived, haven't read anything here yet today. Has the patch to improve loading times + performance dropped since yesterday? I'm guessing it has not.

So has this supposed memory leak making the game easier been discussed? Apparently it's the reason people have been 'mistaken' that insight affects difficulty.

Well even so, it's still a disadvantage... pretty stupid.

Yeah, its definitely not ideal. PVP invading in general seems really discouraged compared to the Souls games. If you want to kill some dudes you really got to put in the work.

Still totally worth it, this is the first time I've really enjoyed the PVP.

Finished the game.

Nothing makes sense. :/
Miyazaki!

For straight up invades it sucks but I'm okay with. It's people wanting to duel that it fucks over.

So I just got the Cannon. My strength is 25, Bloodtinge is only 8, but I have over 100k in souls right now. Worth it to level up strength and Bloodtinge or not? What say you?

Guys sometimes when I want to coop or invade I receive an error message and then I get kicked out to the main menu. Has this happened to anybody else?

Yes. Sometimes when the game doesn't find someone it disconnects the game and puts me back to main menue. Didn't happen for a while now though.

Wait, maybe I'm reading this wrong, but is someone saying LHB scales with arcane....as in str/skl/arc at once? Almost positive the arcane scaling is only with an elemental gem slotted, which removes physical damage you would have got from str/skl. If I'm reading things wrong, sorry.

Hey guys,any tips for Rom?

Look out for forward spider movement. If they move forward, they are about to attack.

When Rom casts the falling rocks, wait until they are about to hit you. Then roll back and forth (dodge straight left, dodge straight right, dodge straight left, dodge straight right).

Do not lock on to anything until very end after you have cleared all the spiders.

Yes the LHB scales with Arcane but you will only see this effect if you put an Arcane gem into it.

be patient, run in get like 2 hits then roll out. Constantly look for opening between the small spiders. Once it starts using the ice magic, I just run until it's done. If it's the close up magic, don't go in to attack or run out ASAP. Also don't lock on.

It's almost sad that this was released before DS2 for the PS4 as I now feel going to play DS2 when it releases will be a step back from BB in terms of game play and graphics but I'll probably do it anyway. It was hard but an enjoyable ride. I kept my insight high, I ended the game with 91 insight I believe. I've only had to summon another play for help once, and that was vs
Martyr Logarius (FUCK THAT GUY!)
other than that it was all done solo and it was one hell of a ride.
The downgrade in art direction and world design is way bigger than the downgrade in graphic, sadly. Still a great game and you should play it.

Canon is OP. Your choice though.

How much Bloodtinge is required to make it sing? Also, upgrade wise, I've got Ludwig and the Axe at +6 each, so I'm not sure Tonitrus would be a wise fit, hence thinking of focusing on the Canon instead. Or I just get Tonitrus up to stat as well, and level up Arcane instead.

I went the back way in Old Yharnam and the NPC who uses the
machine gun
up top is
hostile
...
i thought he is supposed to be friendly if you go the back way so you could talk to him..

Yep, the
Black Church
set to be specific. Not sure how it will work after he's aggro'd, as I killed him right away before learning about this method.

Nope. That set isn't required and he can be aggro'd previously and still do it. To do so...

Kill BSB and Paarl, then go up to him from the Graveyard of the Darkbeast lamp WITHOUT ATTACKING ANYTHING. This is the trigger that makes him aggro even if you go through the backway, just run past mobs for the ladder shortcut then walk up to the tower.

Dudes with the bags on their shoulders? Seriously no matter what I upgrade, two hits and I'm dead.

Bait an attack by standing in front of him about a weapon's range away then do about 150-200 HP worth of damage with the weapon of choice by stepping out of his reach then counter attacking. Run behind him since he will do his power up/enrage at this point, and charge attack him then back stab. Usually dead after that.

Just killed TOR. Took me three tries. Almost got it on my first try and I got stuck under him :/ But easy boss overall.

I heard A
mygdala
is optional? How do I fight it?

I'm making a Cannon + Ludwig + Axe build as well, I'm planning to get my Bloodtinge to +20, then have Strength at +30 and Skill at +20, the rest into Vitality and Endurance. Use them Bone Marrow Ash when you fire that Cannon for massive damage, I've seen people 3-shot Chalice bosses with the Cannon.

Yeap, just decided on this myself. Heard that you can get this other rune that grants extra ammo for it too. Yes please!

well, they are an extra source of blood gems (it's where you get the good ones), blood echoes, items and stuff. I think if the game gives you a chalice so early it's for a reason. Also Depth 3 onwards, they become challenging, on depth 4 it's comparable to late game stuff, depth 5 is harder than anything in the main game.

Hey guys,any tips for Rom?

Don't be too worried about his minions. They don't hit you much if you keep on the move. Attacks Roms sides with 2-3 hits and get away from him. Not too far though otherwise he'll rain shit upon you. Keep in the mid range and circle him weaving opportunities for a few strikes. I'm proper average at these games and I beat him second try

Yeah, I can see that. If you're really into I definitely encourage you to hit NG+, its not that much more difficult but you get crazy amounts of souls, or blood or whatever. It is essentially grinding but at least its fun grinding, progressing through the game all over gain.
