Bloodborne |OT3| I Cane, I Saw, I Conqu- YOU DIED

Ugh really is there anything that can be done about these singing frenzy things? Feels like they are just there to ensure you do a suicide runs, I can't see any fucking way on earth it would ever be worth fighting them.

They drop
very good gems and 10,000 echoes each.

Well I died and I did die again but I figured I could get the souls that I gathered on my way to my death. That's how it always worked before. I don't see them on the ground and I killed all the enemies in the area. Maybe it's a glitch, I dunno. Oh well.

When you die, you lose your blood echoes. If you die again, without picking them up or killing the enemy who has them, they're gone forever.

Equip a ton of frenzy gear and runes.

Oh okay, so the giant
Cthulhu monsters in Yhar'gul have lasers. Because dealing with nearly infinitely respawning enemies wasn't enough for you, have some one-hit-kill lasers.

It's a shame
all those gems come with massive disadvantages. Putting one of those -weapon durability ones in my hammer makes it so that I can barely get through an area without it getting to the "at risk" point.

just totally blows. Between the poison swamp and the singing things, it takes the award for hands down the worst zone so far. Why From thinks that movement slowing poison swamps that are mandatory to traverse are somehow fun and has to put them in every fucking game I do not know.....

One of my favorite areas in the game. I also adore Upper Blighttown and the Valley of Defilement.

(One of the big disappointments of DkS 2 for me is that I don't love the Gutter. It's ok I guess.)

Preach it. I love Valley and Blighttown along with Nightmare Frontier.

Agreed. I simply adore and enjoy every other area but that one is fucking terrible. I need to go back as well to get some items and shit I missed on my first run when I killed the boss.

it depends on when you got to paarl. you can get to it relatively early, or later on in the game. do you remember which boss you beat before it?
Again I appreciate the help guys.
witch and shaggy the dog. I remember one door where this ghost hand came out of nowhere and crushed me. Been trying to get back there to see if I can get in it now but I can't find it. Lol

Can I just check I'm going the right way?

Spoilers,

I beat the woods boss. So do I go back now and go the path of the scary dude with blue magic on the right path?

I assume the boss in the middle of the 2 paths isn't to be beat yet

not really that mandatory to go in the poison much...you really only have to be in it for a few seconds if you search the whole level....but when I fell in a place that was obviously the WRONG way....I found one of my favourite items in the game..

supposed to be that easy? I didn't parry her, but compared to
BSB
she was definitely not as bad.

Yes I understand that. Umm I'll try to be more clear. Say I have 1000 echoes and I die. On my way back to retrieve them I collect 800 and I die again. The 1000 are gone and I understand that, but where the hell are the 800 I just got? Also, what determines if an enemy has your echoes and if they're just laying on the ground.

The one I got
is +19% phys damage at a mere +2.7% stamina cost. With a +15% stamina rune and 40 End I'm destroying stuff with my +10 Saw Cleaver.

I'm glad I sold high on Shadow of Mordor when I did; going back to its shallow button masher combat, dumb story, and drab, visually uninspired world would have been next to impossible after Bloodborne. The flaws of lesser made games shined brighter than the Sun after playing TLOU, and I'm definitely expecting the same thing going forward post BB.

FINISHED THE GAME I have no idea what happened at the end But I finally beat it!

Now to start a new toon and make a different build!

I think the game really lose some bright from Unseen Village. First the girls with bells that respawn enemies, then 3 hunters in a row, then those stupid frenzy singers, not saying some minor headaches but still annoying enemies. Until Foribidden Woods everything was awesome and maintaining a excelent pace.

Hm, you should be able to pick up the 800.

I don't know, it could be random. You will always be able to get the blood echoes you had on you when you die.

okay. yeah, you definitely need to go to the password door. start from the grand cathedral lamp post, go all the way down the long stairs into the round court with two axe giants. go to the right entrance, then immediately turn left. hope that helps.

I know you only need to be in it briefly I guess it just makes me grumpy because it wasn't fun in Valley of Defilement, wasn't fun in Blighttown, wasn't fun in Earthen Peak, still isn't fun now. It's just like something for them to check off the list and no one has realized it fucking sucks to roll around healing be through poison and never having stamina. Not even especially hard, just irritating.

Don't get me wrong everywher else I have love dearly, I'm just currently frustrated and needing to vent.

I thought she was hard when I first fought and beat her at level 24. Leveling more seems to really trivialize the fight as she keeps getting stunned, which I was barely able to do.

That (Shadow) was supposed to be the next game on my backlog to tackle, and thinking about it now I'm never going to be able to do it. I remember Demon's Souls doing the same thing and ruining a whole section of action/adventure games I was previously interested in. I know people will say the games are really different, but once you've had real steak that Outback roadkill just doesn't cut it.

Man I think I had a way easier time on
Ebritas
than some.
Beat her my first try because I kept stunlocking her with my 1h ludwig's + bolt paper during her 50% health phase swap. Came back later after finishing the Crow quest to help people through co-op as I want echoes for the weapon/gear, and I'm seeing attacks I never even saw when I did it. lol....

what kind of strategy did you use?

Sorry for the late answer.
I went two handed with a weapon that has a lot of reach. When the hunter slow walks up to you, you've got time to charge up an R2 attack and slam him down.
The only phase thats hard with that tactic is when he starts throwing bombs, you have to get in close and risk the visceral he can get on you.

Took me 3 tries with that approach. Trying to be swift just got me slaughtered on NG+

Have you levelled up quite a lot? That can make a big difference. You're about where I am, but I just finished the witches. You may get to the forbidden woods before me so I'll enjoy reading your pain (in a good way) :)

Is there anything around the other side of the cathedral? Two hunters were down there, and a bag man hiding along a small path but I havent explored oast there.

Man, the Undead Giant in Lower Pthumeru Chalice (depth 3) hits like a truck. And I guess I can't parry him?

Yeah he's giving me some hassle too. That weak point on his back helps for taking a huge chunk off and I've found you can occasionally get a brief stun off one of the limbs but he doesn't leave many windows open.

The first phase is easy if you lock on and dodge into his attacks from a close range but you have to get back out again really quick after a hit or two. As for the second phase just try to keep some range and take your time, he calms down again after a while. The only problem is he can OHKO you at any time pretty easily if you slip up with your positioning. I'm still stuck on him thanks to that.

Depends on your playstyle, I one-shotted BSB but it took 3 tries to beat VA because of
her healing
, but overall I felt both were easy. If you have a more sedentary playstyle
VA practically stands still at points waiting for you to do a massive charge attack so whittling her down is easy
, on the other hand BSB
is very agressive, but predictable. I only got hit a couple times the whole fight because almost all of his attacks are dodged the same way.

All in all though I'm more shocked at the fact that people have gotten stumped on VA than the people who have gotten stumped on BSB.

late reply but to me it means "people in the world of Bloodborne that have chaged into animals." If it says darkbeast Paarl for example, it is a beast. I would guess this excludes aliens, ghosts, people, insects even. I used the blood gem in quesion I think for quite a while, before the enemies changed to things besides BSB and Amelia etc. I dont think I got until after these obvious opposrtuities though.

I agree, granted there are a lot of achilles heel tricks to use in Bloodborne, but the base difficulty is as high as ever and people are not doing as well at SL4 runs as we did with the other games.

Thank you, i dont think i will use it, lool

Chalice Dungeon Question. (trivial mechanic spoiler)
Are Illusory Walls limited to central and lower dungeons? Getting tired of hitting everything.

The one with club/sword combo? Haven't found a way.

Curved blade/club, with chains on the back. Just beat him. Basically stayed in front and whipped the whole time. I'd just back up and bait attacks. When I got close to the arena wall, I'd unlock and turn him around, then repeat. Last 5% of his life bar, I just kept using Bone Marrow Ash and shooting him.

My favorite thing to do in these and DeS and DS games a re to help ppl on bosses.

How does the small resonant bell work. I ring it and my summon sign follows me or what?

Watchdog of the old Lords in the Defiled Chalice is kicking my ass like no other boss in the main game

level 105 and cant make a dent in him. he has waaay to much HP and having only half the HP, he's almost always 1 shotting me.

any tips ?

Man
Ebrietas
is so cheap... on NG+ and even though I beat her first try both times she is such a bad design in terms of mechanics.

Lol, I had the opposite experience.
BSB
was a pushover, but
VA
gave me fits.

I find it very interesting to see how so many people can have vastly different experiences.

Keep hitting his head, it will eventually crack open allowing to do 1k dmg for each hit depending on your weapon.

He's an absolute son of a bitch. Took me a long fucking time. By the end it was a zen-like gaming experience that's rare. Everything in sync, knew his every animation and frame, was dancing in and out. Frustrating, but so good.

holy balls i'm so lost .. i went straight from
Father G
to central y to cathedral to old y in about 20 minutes... found some stuff on the way but no bosses or anything ... should i keep going after the
gatling gun dude
or do I need to explore back around central y and cathedral first? I feel like theres nothing there for now.
