Chalice Dungeon boss
Watchdog
from the defiled layer is kicking my ass. He has this dash move that KO's me after one hit.

What weapon did you guys use to tackle him?

So, I just beat
the Witches
and
the Shadow of Yarnham dudes
on my first attempts. This, after having struggled a bit on the first four bosses (3-8 deaths each).

Have I overleveled? I feel a bit overpowered, or were those 2 bosses that I mentioned just a bit easier than usual?

A certain item that you can get from completing an NPC's quest.

hum... fuck.

Eileen is dead. Fucking Henryck wrecked me so hard in chains, I couldn't help her.
Alfred ?
I pledged allegiance to the Vilehood last time, not sure if its the queen that gives you this item or...
What other npc could it be ?

Alfred. If you've seen the queen you might have an item for him. That doesn't complete the quest, but hopefully you should figure out what he's planning to do. I'll spoil it outright if you want.

I've been battling against Ebrietas for 3 or 4hs, It seems impossible in my current state, I can't make her don't use her charge attack and I can't dodge it 4/5 times, videos I saw are from people that must be a higher level than me because they take much less damage than me, she deals me half damage with any regular attack, 80% with her charge attack and the same with the stomp and beams.
I manage to dodge almost every hit except for the charge and eventually I run out of vials, I try to stay close thinking that she might not use it but it doesn't work always and sometimes I just die from one hit.

Going to take a shower, then to have dinner with some friends, first boss that force me to cool down.

I found them both to be pretty easy, one of them is barely a boss. Depends on what level you are though.

alfred wants
the book of spells I found in Cainhurst. I was planning to give it to him in this playthrough to finish his quest and get the exectuionner's rune. He wants to use the book of spell ? to do what ? :s

He don't like vilebloods. Also it's not a book, should be a summons

That sounds about how much damage I was taking. Best way to avoid the charge I found is lock on. Then when you see her getting ready to charge walk to the backleft, then when she's about to hit do two dodges to the back left

Geez, can anyone confirm this? I leave the power saver on all night but I usually quit bloodborne application. I am really paranoid that all of these guys sayign how easy the game was were affected by the memory leak. There seems to be a HUGE discrepancy between peple's opinions on whether its a hard or easy game etc.

Anyone read this thread on reddit yet?

http://www.reddit.com/r/bloodborne/comments/31bogg/how_to_active_bloodborne_easy_mode/

Basically the OP says running the game for more that 12 hours (including leaving it on suspend/resume mode) will reduce boss encounter movesets due to a memory leak. I really hope this isn't the case. It would make my last few kills feel less of an accomplishment if true. Anyone have any experience with this?

I don't really understand how a memory leak would effect the AI like that. A memory leak would typically lead to crashes or performance issues in general, not the AI being dumber...

I'm not saying there isn't a glitch there, but if you haven't seen the code I don't see why you can just assume it's a memory leak.

(Either way, it should definitely be fixed if it's a thing.)

For now I'll just never use Suspend/Resume, and make sure to restart the game every couple of hours.

yeah, I figured that one out. So I must took that items to the altar ? Will it cancel alfred's quest ?

Just beated it, second try. Ever. I used bone marrow ash and Evelyn for the very last phase. I couldn't risk going near. I shot it from afar. Worked WONDERS

Ok so from V
A's Cathedral, instead of going through the cave and into the woods on the left, I went right and had to fight two Hunters at once: a Rifle Spear user and Bolt Mace user. Shit was intense, but I made it through. Now I'm overlooking a huge cliff with a building down at the bottom. Where am I headed and is it the right way?

It's an optional area you won't be able to access yet. Try the path in the opposite sirection from VA Cathedral first.

I didn't understand that at first, don't know if were you who told me. Going to try that next time, sounds a super precise move though. :P

Never mind. I came to some altar looking thing with one of those Frenzy vortexes trying to snatch me up so I guess I don't have the item to open the door yet. Guess I'll go to the left of the Cathedral then.

Stats and level could play a role. I always shutdown, but going vit first really gave me some breathing room. I beat most of the bosses starting with the 4th on my first try, but I took some hits that would have killed me with less HP.

Yeah, seems like BS to me. Most of the evidence is pretty circumstantial and could easily be luck.

I marathoned it around 8 or 10 hours and I've just done some stuff in Cathedral Ward. Also farmed plenty of Blood Echoes. Fantastic game.

Father Gascoigne can eat a dick.

Ok, found the first boss in the game that's making me rage -
Rom, you motherfucker... I got him down to about 5% hp once, but apparently those jumping attacks from the minions kill me in one hit with 24 vit when they get me from behind or while using an item so yeah. Worst part is the freaking icicles from above, those fucking things either miss completely or one stuns me and 2 more hit from the same wave. A bit infuriating to say the least. Love the aesthetics of the fight, but the icicles and the couple attacks that just kill me in a single blow make it really freaking annoying.

There is a glitch for sure, what causes it I don't think any of us know. Being lucky isn't enough for ton of people to see bosses repeat the same move over and over.

Yeah, and now there's going to be a lot of confirmation bias about it as well. Often the RNG in Souls games will give you a boss that gets stuck in a loop of the same attacks or much more favorable attacks. That's always happened, doesn't mean there's a memory leak. There may still be a bug causing issues, but now tons of people are going to think something is wrong everytime a boss is easier than normal...

Interesting point. I do wonder if some of the people breezing through it ran into aome of the boss glitches where they get stuck doing the same attack and not enter 2nd phases.

I used the axe though it took awhile.

It does make me wonder though, I experienced those exact issues on
Micolash and the Wet Nurse, as well as the Moon Presence. Wet Nurse and MP in particular literally used one attack the entire fight, I didn't even know WN had any other moves, but some people are saying it's an incredibly nasty enemy that spazzes out hardcore

Just stay on him at all times so he doesn't use his homing attack and keep rolling once you get close. If you manage to reach him right as he teleports you can catch him before the rest of the spiders join him, assuming you're not wasting your time killing them.

That wooded area outside of VA's Cathedral? Holy shit. I have never jumped and dodged as much as I have in this game until that point. That was almost a set piece to me lol.

I guarantee this is a real glitch, I've seen it multiple times in my playthrough. I even have a video of the Castle boss doing it, he totally skips the "powerup" phase along with it, which isn't just luck as that's something scripted to happen. The AI breaks somehow, though I don't know if it's necessarily a memory leak/how it actually happens. There's atleast four bosses where I know it happens.

I don't know. I am a Souls vet and my experience so far has been reasonably difficult. I do still have a ways to go so that could change, just beat VA as the most recent boss. So far I find it has been one of the more difficult in the series.

I think some over level and use co-op for bosses which makes the game easier. I felt over leveled at times myself even though I never farmed. I did explore a lot though which naturally netted me more echoes.

Also, if people are watching videos on how to beat bosses then that makes the game easier as well. Part of the challenge of these games is figuring out how to beat them.

Sorry for the late answer.
I went two handed with a weapon that has a lot of reach. When the hunter slow walks up to you, you've got time to charge up an R2 attack and slam him down.
The only phase thats hard with that tactic is when he starts throwing bombs, you have to get in close and risk the visceral he can get on you.

Took me 3 tries with that approach. Trying to be swift just got me slaughtered on NG+

Appreciate it, I'll give it a go tonight!

Hm, interesting.

It's too bad really. I honestly don't have too much faith in From patching it. Every single one of their games has several big/glaring bugs that never get fixed...Dark Souls 2 *still* has the weapon durability bug, even on the Scholar of the First Sin remake.

So I guess everybody needs to make sure that they don't use Suspend/Resume, and restart the game every couple of hours.

I don't know how you even use suspend/resume. I close the game down every time I stop playing.
