Bloodborne |OT3| I Cane, I Saw, I Conqu- YOU DIED

Reached the first lamp in the nightmare.
Died 5 feet next to it.
Run of cliff because the camera jumped when I walk around that weird sculpture and lose a whole bunch of souls.
I usually don't care if I lose souls, but that was stupid.

I guarantee this is a real glitch, I've seen it multiple times in my playthrough. I even have a video of the Castle boss doing it, he totally skips the "powerup" phase along with it, which isn't just luck as that's something scripted to happen. The AI breaks somehow, though I don't know if it's necessarily a memory leak/how it actually happens. There's atleast four bosses where I know it happens.

This isn't just RNG in the background - four bosses did this to me. That's far too many for it to just be based on 'luck'. Something is broken.

I don't know how you even use suspend/resume. I close the game down every time I stop playing.

You hold the PS Button and then choose "Suspend Application". The PS4 goes into rest mode and next time you start it up you're at the same place. Now that you know, don't use it for Bloodborne. :)

EDIT: Apparently I didn't remember how it works. There's no "Suspend Application" option, just "Enter Rest Mode". Entering Rest Mode while the game is running puts the application in suspend. You need to explicitly choose "Close Application" first.

I always do it to recharge my controllers and headset over night. I also have been off work since laumch and play all day...thankfully I restarted after kissing alomost all the NPC event sto the mid point of the game ....but man I almost did a no healing/ no health loss run on BSB the second time around....has me thinking!!!!

Also, to clarify, it should still be fine to suspend your PS4 so that you can charge your controllers, just make sure to choose "Close Application" on Bloodborne first.

oh ok that's different than closing application and rest mode over night...still I play a long time each day while off work........

Yeah, now that I know about this potential bug, I will still restart it, but it will be nice for other games.

yes some bosses' AI is glitched and they can repeat the same 2 moves until they die. that's also why I thought that some bosses were "too easy" when people started streaming the game 1 week before release.

one boss especially is super easy if glitched but if not glitched shit gets really crazy.
Mergo's Wet Nurse.
really cool boss fight (and dat Lullaby music) if it doesn't glitch.

Ebrietas
charging me and taking off 80% of my health whilst I'm at point blank range is not cool. First boss I'm having trouble with, but I should probably just play it safer.

Time for a colonoscopy.

Geez, can anyone confirm this? I leave the power saver on all night but I usually quit bloodborne application. I am really paranoid that all of these guys sayign how easy the game was were affected by the memory leak. There seems to be a HUGE discrepancy between peple's opinions on whether its a hard or easy game etc.

Yeah this makes sense. I've seen videos where the boss looks a lot simpler than the one I faced. I figured it might have been due to insight levels but it could be the glitch

Er, actually, I think I'm wrong. I believe just going into rest mode puts the game in Suspend, unless you explicitly "Close Application", there's no "Suspend Application" option.

Please tell me there's a way to up your dream storage of vials and bullets. If they want me to farm so much, I hate hitting the 99 cap then wasting so many I could be keeping.

After so many hours with this game I've two complains:

1- Bosses start being amazing and then they go from fine to horrible, at least some secret bosses are great but the mindblowing feeling from the first 4 to 5 bosses never came back (I still have to fight against:
One Reborn, Micolash, Gehrman, Moon, Mergo
)

2- I love the shortcuts and how the game connect itself but I find no point at all at some being so far from the boss or filled with enemies that give no reward at all, if I lose too many times against a boss and I have to farm to get items why can't I use those enemies you put between the shortcut and the boss to farm them? Maybe I'm pissed because I've been fighting against
Ebrietas
for far too long but it happened the same with
Logarius
, the road to the boss is fairly short but you have enemies in the way that are completely useless, they drop nothing, they probably will never hit you once they're just there being a disposable obstacle.

I find the point 1 to have more weight because I'd love to feel like I did when I did my first steps in the game. That's why I try to not outlevel the game because the challenge it's what excites me the most right now.

Help:

I killed Cleric Beast, Father G,
BSB, the Witches, Vicar Amelia, and Darkbeast Paarl
. I've explored all I could find in
Central Yarham, killed all hunters in the Cathedral area (except Alfred), and tried to go through the password door, but Amydagla got me and sent me somewhere else.
Eileen died ( =[ ). I've sent three people to the church: a lady that is going crazy (I'm thinking of killing her, but I'm afraid of the others' reaction), the nun and the whore. I gave the little girl the pendant, and can't find her anymore.

Is there anything I should do before heading through the the new area I'm in?
Am I missing any optional area or boss?

Ah, and there are two items I can't get, no matter what: In the C
athedral Ward, there is a shortcut gate you open to the stairs that lead you to the cathedral. Right past the gate, there's a ladder on the right. In front of you, there is an item, near a ledge. How to reach it?

And in O
ld Y, there is a house you either go inside or take a ladder before reaching the area with the scaffold, with a bunch of enemies. there is a lower, thin part to the left and, close to the building, there is a hole, a bit higher than the ground, with an item to the end. How can I get in that level of the building? I can't jump in through the hole, and I've searched the whole house and haven't found a mean to reach there.

I've spent probably a couple of hours trying to find ways to get to those items but I just can't. I felt so dumb.

1. Go check out the upper cathedral ward, check around the right of the building. 2. Go to the left of that building, you should see some greyish things jutting out from the building, try to jump to them

Is there anything of note in
Hemwick other than the witches and the rune tool?

Also, where is the
nun? So far I've killed Cleric, FathaG, BSB, Amelia, Paarl and the witches. Trying to figure out what to do next.

Not until you get the summons to go to the castle.

Unseen Village, near the area where you were thrown into the prison.

GAF, I need help with Rom boss fight. Can you somebody team up with me to kill that thing? I try many times but unable to take it down :(

I'm not around to help right now, but have you tried
maximizing your Arcane Defense? You can use the robes you find in Byrgenwerth and the arcance defense rune to get high enough Arcane defense that his magic attacks won't hurt you too much. I also recommend killing the spiders first, and then getting a few hits in on him. I found the Tonitrus works *really* well on the babies.

Thank you very much <3
I could swear I checked that area very thoroughly, but I'm usually afraid of
jumping
in those games =DD

NOt sure about your house one, but I also missed some stuff and eventually found it by poking around the area up the elevator inside the church...only watch video if you want to be spoiled.

Loving this as my first Souls like game. In the time it took me to get past the first area, I would have beaten most other AAA titles these days. Have downed the first four bosses and am in the Forbidden Woods area. This level has me tense and has taught me that I need to approach fights patiently even more so then previous areas. I've unlocked the three or so shortcuts I've found so far but I have one question for those that have finished the game:

From reading around, I found that the Forbidden Woods area links back to Iosefka's clinic. All I want to know is whether this shortcut is naturally found at the end of the Forbidden Woods level or if you have to find it by exploring the woods yourself? Don't tell me where it is!!

Great game so far and I'm considering picking up DS2 now because I'm going to need to feed this newfound addiction somehow.

Explore around
