I'm gonna do the remaining bosses on my own after needing help with
Shadow of Yarnham
and
Rom the annoying spider.
. I sure hope I am ready.

Is it just me or is the Threaded Cane just the worst weapon ever? Massively regret choosing it for my new character and I just want my old Saw Cleaver back :(

After beating the third boss
Vicar Amelia
, I can't help but gawk over From's unbelievable art and sound design.

A bit of elaboration about what I mean for this boss:
it just exemplifies the mastery of art direction in this game. I haven't heard more impressive sound design since The Last of Us. They did a phenomenal job of designing beast noises that unsettlingly and ferociously bridge between human shrieks and beast snarls. It sounds not quite human, not quite animal, but completely unnerving and terrifying. The moon lighting of the cathedral on the beast as you move in and out of window space hearkens back to traditional themes where you couldn't quite see the beast's true form except under moonlight (this is even done in Beauty and the Beast), and it teases you of what's to come regarding the religious concepts between beast, blood, and transformation (such as having the beast pray for health). The beast itself is carefully designed, having remnants of the human (beautiful blonde locks) mixed with sickly hide and scabbed skin.
Just stellar art design.

And then
She's actually STILL alive due to her immortality. But she's stuck there as a smashed up lump of flesh. Pretty fucked up. At least you can revive her after you beat Ebrietas. Also, if you go back to where you met him for the very first time, you'll find that he committed suicide since his mission was complete.

Question about that last part:
Were you supposed to get three of the rune his corpse has? I thought that was really weird, considering you can equip only one elder rune at a time.

Just you. The Cane is great if you invest in it and like its moveset. There are no bad weapons in Bloodborne.

Look behind the Big Pig in the sewers and rejoice.
Although I started with the cane and in retrospect think it was a pretty great weapon for a certain playstyle.

Depends. It's not the strongest against individual bosses, but it's super effective against crowds of enemies or multiple bosses/bosses's minions on screen.

I killed E
brietas
.

So on the way to this boss there is an area that you can see downstairs. How do i access it?

Also
does that thing after you kill her(a spider?) do something?

Settings->Network:
Set to Worldwide and Enter the GAFcode on entry field.

After that you're set to ring your beckoner bell, and someone in your SL range and code who rings coopter bell (and only with that code if you put one in *gaf members in this case) will be summoned. From what I've tested, it helps immensely to be near the exact same spot when the bells are rung, like by a switch.

I'll be ringing my coopter bell for anyone who needs help on
The One Reborn
behind the wagon before the bossfog (fog side), SL 73.

Thanks. I had asked before but no response. We'll see if anyone shows up. How close do they have to be? I'm at the bath near the fog to One Reborn.

Finally beat the watchdog of the old lords in the defiled chalice.... was BY FAR the hardest boss of the game for me.
Beat him with threaded cane+10 at level 105

The prayer like movements in her attacks and how she holds her chest where her amulet had been were brilliant little touches as well. Probably my favorite boss for little details like that

I think the area you're referring to is actually the area where the
Vicar
was.

And do you mean the Altar of Despair?
That's where you revive Annalise if Alfred kills her.

Can someone that knows how to beat Vicar help me? :( having a ton of trouble with her

Dodge.
Don't get cocky in your attacks. Use fire paper. She signals her attacks really well so just dodge a lot. Attack her when she prays to heal. Side dodge when she lifts her hands in a fist. Strafe and hang close to her when attacking. When healing, make radial distance from her and heal. She's not that bad.

OK, I rang the bell behind the wagon near the fog to One Reborn, if anyone is free to help. I'm level 75.

At this point I have to admit I'll believe that coop exists in this game when I see it.

Can't avoid it this time, gotta farm if you need blood vials.

Or you can coop a few boss battles with other people to earn the blood needed to buy vials. That is infinitely more interesting than grinding, because boss battles are very different from regular mobs

Fighting the 3 hunters in the
unseen village.
That's some unfair shit. DS2 style.

Its a crappy part of the game.

But just walk towards the no armor guy in the middle, do a stealth combo and then book it towards the lamp you start out at (past the hopefully dead bell maiden etc). If he comes alone, great, hes easy to finish off. That leaves 2. The second one is at the lower right stairs, sneak behind him from the left stairs and do the same.

The third one I just fought fair and he was ridiculously easy to parry.

This may be true. Again, I can only speak for myself, but I didn't need to grind for these in my first playthrough either. It seemed like I had max inventory more often than not (save for when I was exploring the
poison
area of the lower level
Nightmare
) and hit max inventory again on NG+ by the time I first reached Hunter's Dream.

I love it, almost done with the game and it is the only weapon I have used. Experimented with the daggers and like those, but overall prefer the cane.

I'm one death away from asking for physical help with this boss. I always get it down fairly close to the wire before being one shotted.

Abhorrent beast
I presume?

Yeah the co-op system is poorly designed with too many restrictions. Just allow anyone to co-op with anyone else... and just have a formula normalize the current build of the summoned to be upgraded or downgraded to be comparable to the summoner... in not too long when less people are playing the game then co-op is going to be nearly impossible and summoning is going to be a waste of time IMO.

Was summoning this bad in the souls games?

In terms of interface? No.
Seeing signs in the world means you knew for sure if you could connect or see someone you wanted or not.

In terms of bullshit? Yes.
Dark Souls 1 had you switch servers like every 5 minutes at random, so sometimes I wouldn't be able to connect to someone with exact same everything for hours.

Fuck the Defiled dungeon. I can't even beat the first boss, who has been pathetically easy every other time I've fought it.

I'm going to clear my head and try again later.
It is very easy with the right weapon.
Blade of Mercy transformed into dual wielding weapon is the right for that boss. It stuns him so he won't evade until you deplete your stamina. As you finish your attack, quickly roll because he will hit you with fire in his second phase.

Edit: What level are you? I can help you if you want.

I'm wondering this myself. People raved about it in these games. All I've gotten out of it is losing 20 or so insight, but I'm not sure that's a bad thing anyways. I'm just confused generally about how it works, and, like I said, if it actually does work. It would be really fun to play with some people.
