Oh cool! So I should stop and double back to clean up as many trophies as possible.

I missed
Eileen the Crow
, so I'll have to run through the beginning again for the weapons trophy.

Hoping to get the platinum
Have you talked to her at all? If you didn't complete her sidequest, but did talk to her, she will be in the Great Cathedral.
Defeat her
and you'll get her badge.

Ugh, I think I'm done. I've long since gotten my Platinum and all my stats are softcapped at 50/40/50/50/50/50/ (level 240). Have every weapon and piece of attire.

The only stuff I'm missing is a few Runes that I really do not give a shit about and would probably never use. I just can't take running Chalice dungeons for them anymore. They are a dull, lifeless, soulless slog of boredom that is the worst part of any Souls game ever. The same uninspired mishmash of corridors over and over and over. I don't know why FROM thought these were a good idea. They are so freaking bad.

What weapon were you using? I can't decide but I've mostly been using Ludwig's Blade and the Cane. However, I did try the
Burial Blade

Whip cane, Once he starts the phase where he does the side bites followed by the frontward torpedo head charge attack that puts his head on the ground, I got a lot more selective with my attacks. I would jumping heavy attack after his barking flames and try to bait the torpedo attack and heavy attack then while his head was on the ground...took a while, but since there really is hardly any room for error, figured it was the safest bet. Kept it transformed to whip.

EDIT: And a lot of side strafing.

Back up your save AS SOON as you return to the dream if you want the Platinum without doing the game over multiple times.
Almost didn't do that myself, haha.

I love that axe but I figured it was too slow, I'll give that a shot.
Yeah, I feel as though I need to put on some calming music and just let the fight slowly unspool.

Probably a strange question, but how do I do that?

Any tips for the (Chalice Spoiler)
Defiled Chalice Dungeon and on wards leading up to the Queen?
Do you have enough materials for the last chalice dungeon?

1st boss - Some guy - Parry and do visceral attacks, it will go down quick. The boss is very fast and a few hits will KO you. You can easily parry him though.

2nd boss - Fire dog - Wait for it to do its attack (usually combos at HP 70%) and counter when it's recovering (just hit once with R2). Avoid its charge attack, it will one shot you.

3rd boss - Amygdala - Pretty straightforward. Just keep a distance and attack its head after it has finished doing a combo. During the third stage when its jumping, just stay near its legs and you'll be safe.

Lhyll Chalice

1st boss - Some guy - You can parry him. Take cover behind the pillars and do a charged attack.

2nd boss - Bloodletting beast - This dude is very difficult. After he does his combo smash, try to get a few hits in and go back. Get ready to heal ASAP.

3rd boss - Queen is not so bad. All you have to do is get a few hits in and avoid her ranged attacks. When she summons clones, kill them fast. She's not that difficult compared to the previous boss.

Yeah, sucks, sorry about that.
Seems wierd, cause right before that I got summoned by, i think? a gaf group and did the boss.

Yeah, I mean it's totally possible or even probably I'm doing something wrong. I would just love to see that feature of the game and I don't know why it needs to be this difficult.

I'm really enjoying the game (first Soul type game for me) other than that and being stuck on this boss for a couple days.

Have you talked to her at all? If you didn't complete her sidequest, but did talk to her, she will be in the Great Cathedral.

No, she never showed up. I missed her at the first possible encounter, and she never showed up after that.

Is anyone else disappointed by the lack of
mimics
in BB? Unless there are some toward the end of the game which I haven't gotten to yet. I still
strike every chest before opening.
:)

i agree with people, Chalice is no fun. All I need is this one trophy. Why couldn't they just let us play through them? hunting for materials is just awful.

I'm wondering this myself. People raved about it in these games. All I've gotten out of it is losing 20 or so insight, but I'm not sure that's a bad thing anyways. I'm just confused generally about how it works, and, like I said, if it actually does work. It would be really fun to play with some people.

Do you know about that matchmaking issue when you put your PS4 in rest mode? It seems like the online becomes borked because of the new suspend/resume feature. You have to close the application and restart it again to fix the issue. It was in their recent blog post.

If anyone is in the mood for fighting, i'm in the
nightmare frontier.
Invading people. >:D So much death.

Reposting this one, anyone?

So is it really ill-advised to level past 120?

"Everything i'm reading on reddit and otherwise is indicating that's the sweet spot where the PvP community is stopping

Any thoughts on this?"

People want the pvp range around 100-110 but right now since the game is still so young most of the pvp is found in the Nightmare areas and around lvl 60-80. I had to make another character and stop leveling at 75 to get decent amounts of invasions. 100 and up seems dead right now.

Is the only thing you gain for helping 1 insight? Or are their other benefits behind the scenes?

Omg i am so fucking bad at this game. I tried to help someone with amelia but i died before. we could kill it.

Hm.. That was written only a couple minutes after my helper died in the first 30 seconds of battle with her. If you ran down with me to the hunter area on the right (where it turned out i already killed everything and the path I thought we needed to explore was fog closed due to you being there) and we ended up just running back... that was me.

Random gafs crossing paths? Or coincidence?

guys what are those 2 slots just above stamina level?
on youtube i see 1 slot/2 slot/3slot sometimes

most common 1st blue with arrow up?

Which materials do you need?

Ritual Blood 4 and Bastard of Loran to get Defiled opened up. the blood is just fucking not dropping that much for me from the sack dudes. so tired of running back or using Bolds to reload lamp. anytime i see blood is required i just cringe.

I think I'll upgrade my Cane a bit, she's a little weak compared to the rest of my arsenal.

Thank-you for the write up!! I believe I have enough for it, I'm stocked up on everything at the moment. Although, I could do with some more Arcane Haze.
After somehow getting through Defiled boss #2 I should have no trouble with the rest of the game it looks like. Amygdala should be fairly simple.

Some people are dumb. Just got summoned into a guy's game and found out he apparently pulled about every enemy in the cathedral ward area. lol

what are you doing ?
Im at the end of defiled chalice right now and did the Isiz (or something) as well, and I never had to grind for anything....
Just playing all the chalice in order should give you all the mats you need.
blood is mostly in chests, this isnt a random thing

I didn't, thanks alot for that. I'll give it a try, but for now I don't think I'm gonna make my 75th (or whatever) run at
One Reborn
. Struggled with
Rom
a bit, but nowhere near to this level and I at least felt I was making progress there.

My lord
unseen village is trippy as fuck with these giant creatures all over the buildings and bell ladies summoning extra tough regular goes to come after me over and over till I kill her and those damned crazy bitches from the witch area. Creepy as fuck

I get the feeling some shits about to go down and can't wait. The buildup has been phenomenal.

it's random for me. I need 9 Ritual Blood 4 and I only got 2. And I killed every enemy and opened every chest along the way.

Yeah, after I got my plat (lvl 160) I was *done* with those dungeons. It's not that they are inherently bad -- it adds plenty of 'decent' gameplay past the main experience that some people will really dig for many hours. But there's a moment where your enjoyment is gonna shift, and they become horrible, boring, unfun slices of game.

I felt this at lvl 160. You went to 240? I mean, holy shit, the fact that you didn't literally die of bordom is kinda amazing and says something good for those dungeons, ultimately. Anybody who spends that kinda time with them is gonna end up hating them.

Hell, on NG+++ now, and I think I'm done with the main game. I love the hell out of it, but the content for me is absolutely consumed. And it's 60 dollars well-fucking-spent, so I don't care that that's the case. But yeah, it's over, the dungeons are over, and it was a great ride.

GAF I need help!!

For those that have gotten past Byrgenwerth and
Rom
- once you get ported to the big chamber with the
amygdala
hanging in the ceiling above you... I got taken by it and transported to the nightmare frontier. From what I've seen my next step is to go to the Unseen Village but now I can't find any death dealers to kidnap/port me there, and I don't have the lantern for that area because I got kidnapped by the
amygdala
... am I screwed? Can I no longer go to the Village?

I had the same issue, I found the best route was killing the big guys with fire prods, the bag enemies, and chest digging. Once I was out of chests in a particular dungeon I generated a seed of one and ran those as they costed no materials to make.

I can't beat (Cathedral Ward boss)
Vicar Amelia
. She's just relentless. What I'm doing is trying to bait out the jumping attack, because it's the only one I can dodge and punish reliably. If I'm close, her
"white fur"
takes up the whole screen which means I can't really see when the attacks come. The problem is, for the jump attack I need to stand relatively far away, and that is problematic because eventually I run out of space.

Tips please!

So in
Nightmare of Mensis,
I pulled a lever that
made some sort of blood creature thing fall into a pit.
Is that a boss? If so, how can I get to it?

It's a timed event. You missed it.

Go back to the first level (where a ton of those midget guys are) and you'll find an elevator there that goes down into a dark pit.

edit: Also, you can get to the bridge where the thing was, and find a
Blood Rock
. Definitely get that. One of two ways: either find the key that opens the door in the place where you first fought the boss there, or in the area where you pulled the switch there is a hole in the ground.

I had the same struggle. Bastard of Loran is in Ailing Loran Chalice so if you didn't do that yet I'd just go there since you'll probably knock out both birds with one stone. I think it might take some blood to open the chalice but you'll need to do it anyway.

I also agree with the whole setup being annoying. It's an empty calorie loop where most of the 'loot' is just materials to get to other chalices and repeat the same process. Doesn't help that basically all the optional bosses in the main game just drop chalices themselves.

No idea how to get to it, but I think that brain thing was the cause of the frenzy buildup at the start of the area. Never happened to me again after I dropped it.

Man I really had a hard time with C
elestial
E
missary
.

Said no one ever. I literally didn't even notice I'm fighting a boss until it was almost over.

But fuuuck that
Upper Cathedral Ward
place and it's sucking ass slug motherfuckers. Well at least I got a nice amount of chunks from the wolves.
