Where's the best place to farm souls? I've got everywhere available?

If you don't have the later chalice dungeons unlocked, a couple of runs through
Mergo's Loft: Middle is a good place to get about 70,000 per run. You have to fight three giant pigs and maybe seven sword guys (can't remember their names). Use the elevator at the end of the path before the location of Mergo's Wet Nurse and repeat. Equip any blood echo boosting runes you have.

Whats everyones hardest boss? for me its the
Abhorrent Beast in Ailing Loran chalice
this thing is relentless took me 8+ times to finally seal the deal

Is it easy to miss the workshop tool required for memorizing Caryll Runes?
I've found 14 runes so far but I still can't use the altar in the hunter's dream.
I'm starting to worry that I've missed a important item somewhere.
I don't use any guides or hints or anything but the more I play, the more I get the feeling that I've missed something.
No spoilers please.

It's not that hard if you make a point to do as much as possible.

It's not like hidden in an obscure corner of a chalice dungeon or anything.

The 3 hunter fight in yahagar is fucking bullshit. Fuck this.

Run back to the lamp, usually only one hunter follows. If you manage to leave the fellow with the [weapon spoiler]
--cannon--
for last, you can walk across the room on one side, get behind him, perform a visceral and retreat. Repeat until dead.

You missed a fight.

Could someone please help me past Nightmare Frontier?

If nobody is willing, here's a tip: Attack her front arms and head

Thanks!
Actually, I'm not even at the boss (I know I asked help against Amygdala). I'm trying to reach it... but Frontier is a pain. =/

Took me four tries to defeat the B
lood Starved Beast
. His last phase is a real pain in the ass. Getting poisoned while just standing close to him was what did me in during my first three tries.

An by the way, what is up with Antidotes not automatically refilling from your storage. It was kind of annoying going all the way back to the Hunter's Dream after every death to the B
lood Starved Beast.

Don't they respawn in ng+ when you killed them before?

Well I never kill 'em... so er hopefully IF I can get the job done they'll stay dead.

Or get respawned by a nearby bell maiden or whatever. It's not an area I stayed around long enough because I was running for my life haha.

True. I ended up just looking at a video for a fast way there due to the annoying as fuck sniping giants

So I wonder if some of the stuff in Dark Souls II was actually made for Bloodborne and then not used and put in Dark Souls II later?

-The big guys in Lost Bastille
-Aldia's Keep looks like a rough draft of the building in Upper Cathedral Ward
-The torch mechanic

There's probably some other stuff in it too. Given that DSII apparently had a hard development it wouldn't suprise me if they took some unused assets from BB to save time, I wonder if that's the case?

I was almost at the shortcut, without kowing it, then I fall in a hole with a bunch of those frenzy singers and poison! T-T

But then 2 random co-op parteners joined in in my next tries and we did it till the end! =D

This battle was made quite easy on my bloodtinge build. Bullets to the head do a fair bit of damage and can stun.

Don't have time to help just now but I will later if you're still stuck.

Yeah, actually the boss wasnt hard. The way is the worse! =O

Two year lurker, bad english speaker, and a souls game first time trier here.

I finished the game in 50~hours. Used the bell once for Gehrman fight. Got every weapon, fought every boss, done it all except NG+. It's a very solid 8/10 experience for me.

Things i liked:
+Art direction, environment
+Atmosphere
+Animations
+Weapon uniqueness
+Hitbox accuracy
+Very easy to use and intuitive HUD
+Most of gameplay mechanics
+Level design

Things i didn't like:
-Too easy
-Repetitive boss fights
-Unintuitive lantern system
-Not enough weapons
-Weak lore
-Load times
-Ends abruptly, no culmination
-Very little build difference
-Very little armor difference

I'm sure i've missed a lot of things, if i would've known i would write to GAF about my experience i've probably made some notes while playing. The biggest shocker for me was how mildly hard it was. At some point i thought that i've missed the difficulty settings before starting the game. There are legends on the internet about it being one of the hardest series in modern type gaming. But in reality it only is challenging, and more so to some type of action twitch spaz player than anyone. If you keep your head clear, be more pace-inducing than reactive, and generally smart about what you are doing - the game will reward you.
When i booted up bloodborne i was in zen mode because of all the things i've heard about the soul series. I was ready to die a gazillion times, but master it eventually. And the first three hours were exactly like that - i couldn't even pass the first patrolling area. But then it clicked, and from there on out i was alright for the rest of the game. And it's coming from a bloke who plays maybe 5 games a year. It's very hard to understand how so many gamers just can't pass first, or second, or third boss, and stop playing the game, when my girlfriend did it without my help and she can't even aim properly in TLOU.

A very good game, nonetheless. Would play a sequel.
Sadly no Demon's / Dark Souls for me, as i've heard they are even easier than Bloodborne, and the art direction doesn't attract me at all

What's with my souls appearing in the Lecture Hall despite dying elsewhere? I think it happens every time I quit the game after dying without collecting the souls. Bug?

If I have an excess of Blood Stone shards, should I fortify multiple weapons if my main (axe) is already maxed out? Or will I be able to use them for something else later on in the game? I'm at the point where I can only level up my axe using twin blood shards. Unless later on in the game I can convert blood shards into twin blood shards somehow?

Too easy he says... I don't know what hell on earth game you've conquered to make you think that but wow. It's by far the hardest game I've ever played.

How do I cope with frenzy attacks? I don't have anything to counteract it...

Just beat the game. Took me ~38 hours, which is the shortest amount of time it's taken me to complete a Souls game, probably because I didn't have a strategy guide and as a result missed some optional stuff. I think the only area of the game I flat out missed was with the kidnapper dudes. I also bungled a lot of NPC stuff. I also spent about 30 minutes total on the Chalice Dungeons and didn't figure out what runes and the games magic spell equivalent items did until I was about 85% through the game.

Still, gonna be hard to beat for GOTY.

Won't play Souls because it's too easy, damn you're just 2hardcore. It's not surprising that some people don't get past the first boss. You said the first three hours were tough for you. I imagine three hours is enough for some people to give up on a game if they feel they aren't making any progress. Also If it was so easy why would you summon for *that* fight? :p

Agreed that it felt like it ends abruptly (although there's tons of optional stuff), and the other games offer much more build variety.

The 3 hunter fight in yahagar is fucking bullshit. Fuck this.

Here's how it took care of them
Take care of that magic asshole in the right side of the stairway first. He should be dead, or close enough before the other two assholes join in. If he's dead, he's dead, so don't worry about dying since your souls should be near the stairway. Then take care of asshole with sword and flamespray, sneak up from behind him and murder that hunter. Claw asshole is cake since you can dodge and wail away at him.

Where are sedatives available?

iirc the old lady you can send to the CW can give you some. Also in time I believe you can buy them from Hunters Dream. Can't remember if they cost insight or echoes. I haven't played in a little while.

Was actually wondering the same thing haha. Took about 4 or 5 tries, but accomplishing that fight was one of the most satisfying experiences I've had in gaming.
