Sedatives help. I think there are armour sets that have frenzy resistance too.

In what way, friend?

For me, it's the fact it barely works lol.

Too easy he says... I don't know what hell on earth game you've conquered to make you think that but wow. It's by far the hardest game I've ever played.

How do I cope with frenzy attacks? I don't have anything to counteract it...

You have to stack the frenzy RES rune and frenzy RES armor (I think Ashen is best but don't remember) for it to really make a difference. Also, importantly, you are more vulnerable to frenzy the more insight you have.

Finally doing NG+ and I summoned Gerhnam in central yarnahm since i never did on my first playtrhough, man, this guy is a badass lol. He went all in on the mobs of enemies and the dogs and obliterated everything for me!

Sure made the path back to the cleric beast much faster!

Am I the only one who hates having to buy Blood Vials? I feel it just slows any momentum I get fighting a boss..start to learn strategy and then I'm out of vials and have to go farm. Really annoying mechanic.

I noticed an interesting difference while playing NG+. It is actually a lot easier to go through the path that leads to Hemwick Charnel Lane and the level itself, if you go there before defeating the boss at the Cathedral. The biggest difference is that there are no summon creature spawning (those thin demonic figures with glowing red eyes) in the areas. Neither is there a bell ringing woman in that house on the hill in Hemwick Charnel Lane. I think this has to do with them being triggered after finishing the Cathedral boss. I did all of this by accident due to my struggle with that boss made me rush there instead to Hemwick to take on the Witches. I also noticed the NPC inside that cabin there doesnt scream manically but actually talks to you. Pretty cool thing to notice!

People had issues with frenzy? I didn't find it much of an issue after I figured out you could just stand still and wait for the meter to go down. Maybe it's harder on NG+?

Right now, the only two things I would change about the game are loading times (sometimes they really are unbearable) and build variety. What is good far outweighs those two things.

What. First I'm hearing about being able to do that!

She's really easy until her final phase. That laser is no joke.
The laser is easy to dodge, at least, unlike the OHKO charge attack.

I'm on NG, and the meter never stops going up once it has started for me, even if I've killed the enemy. I'll just stand there and watch it slowly creep up until it fills up (rather than waste a sedative).

is dead. Screw him so much, my god. First boss that has really kicked my ass and gotten my blood boiling. Three days of him kicking my ass.

Guys, can I get a location of

I downed him on my fourth try. The magic is in - tactics spoilered:
Don't lock camera, rush him, slash slash, jump back (chance taht creep is already jumping) and repeat. Ignore his army, focus on him only. No camera lock.

How do you summon npcs??

Won't play Souls because it's too easy, damn you're just 2hardcore. It's not surprising that some people don't get past the first boss. You said the first three hours were tough for you. I imagine three hours is enough for some people to give up on a game if they feel they aren't making any progress. Also If it was so easy why would you summon for *that* fight? :p

Agreed that it felt like it ends abruptly (although there's tons of optional stuff), and the other games offer much more build variety.

That's not what i had in mind. The most important thing for me of not tackling other Souls games is the art direction/atmosphere/setting. That is the reason i didn't play them while i couldn't resist Bloodborne. The easier difficulty is just another thing on top, which really doesn't make a difference and i shouldn't have brought it up.

Also, i think i agree with you on the three hour thing. If the game doesn't click i can easily understand the frustration that some players face while tackling a boss without proper understanding of game mechanics.

Not that it matters but i summoned help after trying him for two times, failing, but not having enough time to play around and wanting to finish the game in next 15 minutes. The Moon Presence was a boss like any other - dodge diagonally into him when he attacks.

First playtrough done! Think I did all the bosses. Fucking fantastic game but I have no idea what the fuck just happened.
I'm afraid the replay ability isn't as high though, but we'll see, Diving into NG+ first then maybe an arcane character. Which I didn't touch at all.

And I could not not beat him. :D

Ignore the little spiders, use bolt paper, go ham on him and dodge.

I did pretty much the exact opposite. Take out all the little spiders first so they stop fucking with you. Don't lock on target them, just run around to their backs and slash away. They'll go down in 1-2 hits. After they're all dead run up to boss and slash away at his back too. Repeat for each phase.

Really easy fight when you approach it like that.

iirc the old lady you can send to the CW can give you some. Also in time I believe you can buy them from Hunters Dream. Can't remember if they cost insight or echoes. I haven't played in a little while.

I don't think I'm far enough for that. I just bought the emblem key and started exploring.

Wow, my Saw Cleaver seems a bit OP now, since I upgraded it to +9 and with all the blood gems I have added to it increasing the physical attack an extra 51% (171 +223). I was helping someone with C

missary
last night, and
once I found the right alien guy, I just started wailing on him and took him down to 5% health before he had the chance to transform. Took another 2 hits and he was dead. Whole thing happened in like 30 seconds.
I think we all just stood there kind of surprised the boss fight was over with so quickly. I only just fought this boss like 3 bosses ago and not even that many levels ago too. It took me like 3-4 tries then and I think I was just at a +7 Saw Cleaver then, with a couple different gems.

I really love this game. When i first started playing it i n00bed out a couple of times but once i got the "swing" of things and taught myself how to play it, its amazing. I just played for about 2 hours and didn't take any damage at all.

What do you guys think of the rifle spear? Thinking of levelling my bloodtinge to 9 (currently at 7) to use that weapon. Waste of stats? I've heard it's a pretty powerful PvE weapon.

Yeah that is what ended up working for me. Took a long time for me to figure it out and for it to work. Basically never stopped dodging after his first teleport.

Man, seeing Arianna
and her baby down in the basement, she having totally lost her mind, swinging between maniacal laughter and crying
, was super grim :/

After so much trouble with amilia i then do
witch, shadows and ROM without dying once (felt good), then get killed by a troll that cornered me in unseen village lol.
Bell girls respawning shit is already annoying. Necromancers all over again.

My kirkhammer is hitting like s truck which is great. I think 320 damage. One more chunk and can get next upgrade.

Lol.
Just beat the daughter of cosmos.
She gave me quite some problems. But on my last try I was totally surprised when she died. Went way to fast.

Attack her body a little bit, then got her down for a visceral attack.
After that charged up a R2 and she was dead. :D

Skipped her 2nd phase.

in the Chalice dungeons is a dick. One thing I don't like about this game is that some of the bosses are so large that you can't see what the hell they're doing. I'm just slapping this dude's shins and I can't see anything that's happening above his belly button.

has anyone actually played an arcane 40 build?

is it at all viable?

Oh I didnt know that
I am already at Max. So it has nothing to do with not triggering that event where you touch that skull in that Cathredral? The NPC in the cabin speaks of looking forward to the events that are unfolding

I think its an interesting weapon. It stuns bigger enemy very well and I find it effective to keep a distance between strong and slow enemies. I am planning to maxing either that or my shotgun on my second playthrough.

Dude, me too.

And the worst part for me is that I have no idea where all this optional content is, lol. I thought I checked everywhere. Apparently I missed like everything.

Me too! I thought I had gotten most optional areas. However I got the nasty shock after looking it up for New Game plus. I had missed out on as many as 3 optional bosses and another world! While looking back at my first run I realized that I had rushed through one level and if I had taken my time I would have discovered a lot more than I did.

So I wondered if anyone could tell me how to access that place above the sewers in Yarnam? I havent figured out how to get there yet. You can see if you look towards the other side when standing outside the window of that little girl.

Wait, where did you see that?

Last time I saw her
her hair had turned gray and she looked weak, now she's not in her seat and there's a black stain on the ground. I just assumed she had died.

Honestly.... those strange viscous guys, who grab you and take more then half of your hp and are fast as fuck may be one of the worse kind of enemies I've ever had the displeasure to encounter in any game!

They're so ridiculous!! I'm trying to pass through upper cathedral but when I meet one of these guys the death is pratically imminient!!!

I just beat V

It is kind of weird since I've been getting considerably worse in my playing in the last 5-10 hours.

See, I was playing better and better in my first 5-10 hrs but VA's beaten me four times. Granted, three times were showing bloodborne to non-gamers, so i wasn't giving it my full attention.

Hopefully she dies tonight.

Edit: may help if i ask: is it worth not locking on against VA? And ive heard she's one you should get up close against. I did best against her doing diagonal rolls past and staying to her left and back side

The art direction is on another level in Bloodborne. At least they outdid themselves. Souls has some nasty looking creatures but some of them look like Saturday morning cartoons compared to the shit here. Definitely more of a horror tinge. If you like that I suggest Demons Souls out of the other ones because it gets the closest to that in areas. Dark Souls is incredible for its interconnected world. You might like the bonfire system more than the lamps.

Seems like BB's difficulty is front-loaded for a lot of people. It was for me too and I know Souls. I still sucked at it because enough had changed, just takes a while before you know what the game expects. Unfortunately there was no mid or late game boss that made me feel like I really got over a hump. Dark Souls has those.
