Kill all of the insight-stealers and one of them will drop a key that lets you bypass the whole mess and head straight for the boss.

Just get through it. You're not far, but those enemeis will give some headache. I almost gave up that area... =/

Finished today. For me - best in "Souls" series I've finished all of them, got platinum in DkS and DkS2. I've got high hopes and even bigger hype for BloodBorne, but the reality blows me away. Game is far, far better for what i've imagined, what i wanted...Fucking stellar game! Along Alien Isolation, easily the best game ever created. Ok, back to game, there is so much more to do...

Glad you love it, but for me, getting bored. I stopped at lvl60, on 2rd play through, to help people with the harder bosses. With the lack of item variety and play style, I don't even feel the need for NG+ or restart with different builds. And, this coming from someone who spent hundreds of hours in each Demon and Dark Souls 1 & 2.

That's Hemwick Charnel Lane, just after you come out of the barn interior and wrap around the rooftops on your way to unlock the gate shortcut. Just before the campfire with one of the big guys with bricks and the dancing ladies. Down below to the right is the area with the 2 big axe executioner guys and all the dogs.

DLC to unlock shortcuts now? The door just connects the Cleric Beast lamp to the Cathedral Ward where the giant with the ball and chain is. I imagine From meant for this to be a shortcut, but later changed their mind and forgot to remove the button prompt on the cathedral ward side. Maybe at one time defeating Cleric Beast unlocked this door so that Father G could be optional as well.

as much as I can, lol.

Try to stay close to the boss, then theres a lot less chance that he does that air attack. It can still happen though, but its more rare. When you stay closer, you still have other attacks to avoid, but the air attack is the hardest one to avoid, in my opinion.

Literally just got done beating it. Go after

the guy shooting the 3 fireballs as fast as possible ad try to isolate everyone around the giant grave marker. If you keep strafing around and isolate them, the fight becomes easier. Also by killing off Fireball Guy and leaving Flamethrower and Sword guy alive, when you kill the 2nd one, the last guy who starts summoning giant snakes won't be as hard.

You probably missed a shortcut, or haven't been using one properly

Did you pull the lever to open the doors in the library area? By the ladder. If so, all you need to do is go up the elevator, run into the library and head left, avoid the stupid ghost ladies and witches as best as you can, and the ladder/opened shortcut will be at the end of the room on the right side

as long as you use 3/4 cords before killing him, you will be able to fight theast boss

Nope, you cant store blood echoes. Regarding that key:

you dont need it. There is a way to get around to open that gate without the use of that key.

Nope. That's the risk vs reward of having them on you all the time.

No, its possible to beat the whole game without doing a single parry. It does make things easier though. I hardly parried when beating the game the first time. I wish that i was better at parrying.

Not really, but it makes it a lot easier. Father G and BSB are two of the bosses where it benefits the most to parry.

Cainhurst Castle

is my favorite place so far. Such a cool environment, great loot. Just got two amazing armoiur sets and two great weappons. Boss was quite easy too. Beat him second attempt. First attempt he blasted me off the roof with his first magic blast. Would have made a great "BLOODBORNE" gif.
