that's not better than hunter's axe either. nothing is.

Kirkhammer is so much better in my opinion. Once you get enough stamina Charged R2 + R2 is amazing. First one slams enemies down for 700 damage and if they are still alive the 2nd one is a giant baseball swing that sends them flying across the room. Knocked down and all. Total damage like 1200+

Also running R2 is a sweeping strike and L2 with 2H hammer is another wide sweeping strike.

There are two doors in the
Lecture building
with purple fog seeping out of them, one on each floor. You went through one to get to the Nightmare level you are in now. The other is on the other floor, on the opposite end of the one you went through.

Yes, yes you can.

What's a good blood echoes farming spot? I am on the final boss of the game, and cleared all of the optional bosses, but I want to farm blood echoes and tidy up couple of other trophies at the same time,

Thanks! I am gonna explore the Lecture Hall in more detail next time. You can access the 2nd floor without doing anything weird or whatever? Just from that general area?

Hey Gaf,

Need some advice on what stats to invest, now my stats are like this:
Killed 2 bosses and i am still early in the game i think.
Using the Axe as of now, did not find any weapon so far.

Level 24

VIT: 15
END: 14
STR: 14
SKILL:14
BLD: 9
ARCANE: 8

Thanks

You'll do fine, one of the best weapons in the game scales really well with both Strength and Skill (Ludwig). It's a heavy sword though, so if you dislike heavy weapons you might want to consider investing in skill more.

I am currently Level 37 and I have about the following stats.

Vit: 21
End: 19
Str: 23
Skill: 14

I haven't invested in the rest. I just defeated BSB and currently rocking a Hunter Axe (the best one so far) and Cleaver Saw. Which points should I focus on from now on? I am thinking to spend more on Skill + Str?

Vit and end are the most important stats. You could go 25/25 vit/end before you even level the others.

Easter break saved :D

I stopped at 120, I think you're too high if you want to do any multiplayer.

I hope I'm not fucked lmao.

If you don't want to go crazy in the defiled chalice I think you are ok. Just make sure your vits is around 1700 (with runes) or you will get one shot by the bosses too easy.

I would say 150 is the sweet spot. The depth 5 chalices are still hard but not maddening.

I am 144 on my 2nd char with

50 vit (1650 hp with 10% rune equipped)
40 endurance
37 str
50 skill
7 Blood
8 Arc

From here on out I will alternate putting points into vit and str. Ludwig's gains 3-4 more attack with each point and when I get some of the better gems (I found a +19.5% gem in the D5 chalice on my other char) it will scale even better.

But at 134 you should be able to beat NG+ without too much trouble.

I'll stop at 150 then, thanks! I don't think I'll end up with that much vit but Dodge is my friend, so I hope I don't die too much.

The charge takes forever, you can't use it against a lot of enemies. I think both weapons are great though. Personally I prefer the Axe vs bosses because the arc on the 2-handed attacks is so insane, you'll never miss. Its range is also useful for poking at dangerous enemies without getting hit. For most fights though I prefer the sword mode of the Krikhammer, the thrust attack is crazy good. Most enemies in this game seem to have very low def vs thrust.

Do you think Ludwig's Holy Blade is a reference to the Moonlight Greatsword?

Beethoven's name was Ludwig and one of his most famous compositions is Moonlight Sonata.

Gonna try the Chalice Dungeons for the first time. I'm level 80-something and on NG+, are they going to be much more difficult than if I did them as soon as I was able to?

Rifle Spear is the king for this. So much so that I upgraded it so much just for that purpose alone, lol.

It isn't very good at anything else though....... I wonder what weapon complements it the best. I am now wielding Blades of Mercy with it... hmm.

No scaling at all even for NG+ so with that kind of level you'll only need to stare at the general direction of the enemies at the early chalice dungeons and they'll get murdered, lol.

Finally killed the
Keeper of the Old Lords
on level 1 of the
Defiled Pfthgdfhhdjwhateveritis
chalice.
Seriously that has been harder than
Ebrietas
.

Why are all the
chick bosses hard? [/sexism]

Pvp doesn't interest me that much atm but I deff wanna be able to do dungeons with ppl

at level 134, the lowest level you can coop with is 111, it's possible to find someone at that level, but very rare, most people are stopping at level 100, with some at 110 or 120, I chose 120 because I thought 100 was too low, & I'd still be able to coop or PvP with people at level 100.

The axe moveset is super versatile with each button, and the charge R2 knocks EVERY enemy on its ass to give you breathing space along with giving you a hit of armor to absorb a hit and due to the health system regain the health after you let it rip.

It's insane.

People do that? I'm like 130 and want to go more because of new game++. Blood echoes are pretty easy to get in new game+.

Has anyone found this area? It looks like Hemwick Charnel Lane except that it's much brighter out... I feel like it's not actually in the game at all despite being really pretty. I hope I'm wrong and I just didn't find it.

I'd say that's the upper ledge above Hemwick Charnel Lane Crossing. Not sure though.

It's just a community level cap, mostly for PvP, there are still people that go over it, but if you don't want to wait 20 minutes to get matched with someone, it's better to keep your level close to the community's.

Time to make a new character then...

Hey I recognize that area!

It *IS* in Hemwick Charnel Lane area, past the rooftops, the area where you fought against a brick troll, a crazy dog, and a group of crazy ladies. Not too far from the final gate shortcut of the area where you can find two Executioners roaming about.

Yeah, I'm positive at it.

I'm struggling to beat that slow-ass
Undead Giant (with dual blades)
in my first chalice dungeon. Problem is I can't quite judge the reach of his swings.. it often feels like I'm getting hit when I should be out of range.. :(

Should I be staying behind him or something? On my first attempt something odd happened and he lost a huge chunk of health, but I'm not sure what that was.

I think that is hemwick. If you go there before VA the time of day is different.

Pretty sure co-op is borked for me. It just won't work. Just keeps searching and searching. Both when I'm trying to summon, or help people. Really frustrating.

So I've Platinumed Bloodborne already. Every game in the series, the Platinums just keep getting easier and easier. Only one I've yet to Plat is Demon's because fts.

*Pimp cane is the king for this. The neutral backdash heavy attack outranges every other weapon in the game, no?

It's got a big lump of flesh on one of its legs. If you hit that lump enough it'll lose tons of health.

Tbh in actual skill required for the Platinum Bloodborne is probably the hardest (because of the Chalice Dungeons). Getting the Platinum in Demon's is hard for all the wrong reasons. You just need to kill the same monsters again and again until you get lucky.

The level cap or possibly no one in your immediate area or possibly the memory leak issue.

Protip: the amount of messengers whooooooo~ing at your lantern when you transport to an area actually indicate the amount of hunters nearby when you're online.

I haven't actually used it at all. Well I tried it for a couple of minutes to see the movesets but I decided I don't like it and ever since then I completely disregarded it.

Hmm, interesting if what you said is true.

I've not been able to play Bloodborne since Thursday evening. I've dealt with the cold turkey using this thread and the wiki.

But once I get home tonight: Amelia goes down.

After putting the game on hold until I completed Type 0, I've finally started the game.

It seems like there's an incredibly importance placed on picking out members of the "horde" of sorts that's roaming the town. At times I'm a little confused at to how I should and shouldn't progress. For example, very early on,
after passing the enemy pounding at the gate and defeating a few crows, I came across dogs and some roaming villagers. It didn't seem like I could pick them off so I attempted to shoot a dog and found myself attacked from behind by the very same door pounding creature. I guess I should avoid gunfire and start throwing stones? As well as notice when the pounding stops ...

So I killed the spider boss and found a hunter almost dead outside the big cathedral, how long will she be there? Can I enter the place to the right with the big alien looking thing hanging in the roof? I want to kill the hunter in the cathedral but I don't stand a chance and want to do something else for a while, if I still can go back and take care of him...

That bastard will go after you regardless if you engage with the dog+villagers in *any* way.

Best way to just go left, drop from the ledge, kill dogs there, and just keep left until you enter a house, go directly on the opposite door, kill the lone villager there, and unlock the shortcut.

You can, just run past him/it.

Noob question. If I min/max my stats and prioritise str/Vit/end, would the kirkhammer beat LHB for damage given that I no longer need to spend points on skill?

Or does the moveset of LHB make it the superior choice even though my other stats will be slightly lower due to spending points on skill?

I just started a new game and wanna do spec properly this time.

I thought I was supposed to go up there. : (

Tonitrus scales really well with Strength so you might want to factor it into your considerations.

Hahaha, well you don't have to, though you *can*. That route I was describing is the fastest way of unlocking the 1st shortcut without all the hassle or risk of dying. Really fast. Afterwards just go explore wherever :)

In the Ailing Loran dungeon, the side passage after the locked gate but before the first boss has a button that doesn't seem to do anything when pressed. Anyone found what it does?

Definitely give it another go. The whip's neutral backdash light/heavy attacks and cane>whip transformation attack make it such a beautiful precision weapon; Once you get good with it you'll destroy mobs with ease. Only bosses manage to out range you with the pimpcane. Heck, it's only now on my second playthrough that I've even gotten to see the attack animations for the snakes and snake men because I exclusively used the whip before and always killed them outside their reach.

That said, I've had a horrible go at it in PvP. And that range advantage goes up in smoke against bosses.

Ok, quick question:
I just beat the wet nurse, and as I understand, I only have one boss left. What exactly does carry over to NG+?
Coldblood, blood stones, gemstones, weapon/armor (only equiped, or all possessed?), runes? Do the Umbilical Cords carry over?

Is it just me or did From decide to put a fucking epic difficulty spike in place once you kill
Rom, the cowardly spider
?
It definitely takes a jump. But I mostly blame the
Bell Maidens
. They completely alter the dynamic of the U
nseen Village
and not in a good way.
