It depends what your alt weapon is since Ludwig's scales the same to both.

My 1st char Tonitrus was my alt weapon(it rocks certain bosses) to I got my strenght to 30 before I messed with skill too much.

My 2nd char I used cane so I went with skill to almost 50 before I started leveling Str past 16 (the requirement for Ludwigs).

If you only use Ludwig's just alternate putting points into skill and str after 25 to get the best effect.

Well you can pump into both up until a certain which is the soft cap and at that point you should pump into whichever one you feel lIke doing. For example I'm gonna pump into strength over skill now since my secondary weapon is the wheel and that eventually scales S with strength

Holy blade has scaling in str and skill. Soft cap is 25 and hard 50. You get best damage scaling increase 1-25 and less 26-50. So, yeah, increase skill to 25. Then, either until 50.

The same way strength does.just look at the scaling letters on your weapons.
Ludwig's scales the same with strength and skill.

Ludwig's scales equally with strength and skill, so it's worth putting points into both for that weapon.

Skill and strength both work well with LHB. I recommend you keep leveling them.

Thanks all!!!

My alt weapon is currently Tonitrus since I just got it. Otherwise it was the Axe.
I'll pump skill to at least 25 now and then alternate Vitality and Strength/Skill afterwards :D

If you go above ground and look out into the distance you'll see a certain bridge where you were before. Not sure why they didn't allow this shortcut, honestly. I guess it was pretty pointless either way

What if the true meaning of transform is some Old Monk shit from Demon's Souls? Get beasthood high enough, open that door, you are summoned into someone elses game as the cleric beast.

seems legit

Try to stay behind her all the time and be aggressive. You can stop her laser attack if you hit fast enough while she's building up her power.

Even when I hit her, and am hitting her non stop, I cannot prevent her from firing them. It's like she fires them irrespective of what I'm doing.

Running through with a second character, doing str. Using Stake Driver. Very very interesting weapon compared to the others. It's transform is just for loading the R2. And damn a full charged R2 that's been primed WRECKS.

For the first time in all 4 of my playthroughs, I've on shotted R
om

Yea
Rom
was a total joke for me. After all the hype about how hard he was I was like "uh.... so that was easy"...

Souls games are so YMMV on bosses its not even funny. I think the only universally agreed upon toughy was O&S from DS1.

Just don't give up! :)
If it is easier, when you see she's preparing, get away from her and dodge/sidestep those lasers. Once you get the hang of it, it's not that difficult.

You have to be paying attention for that attack. There is a visual and audio queue. When you see/hear it, just start running. You will out run them as long as you keep moving.

Realistically it doesn't though haha. You can keep complaining, but people are going to keep using it in these games.

And it is one-shot, one kill. You beat it your first time trying.
You can one-shot most enemies in the game aside from bosses and some enemies can do the same to you...

People can use terms incorrectly all they want. However, one usage of the term makes far more sense then the other, and also matches the origin of the word.

I'm done with this game. Probably never going to play it again. There is no reason to beat this game again. The lack of content & quality of content in this game is abysmal.

Chalice dungeons are the most half ass way of trying to add content to a game I've ever seen. I had to force myself to beat them all just so I could say I did everything in the game. They are excrutiatingly boring. Instead of building a beautiful robust world & putting these bosses in them, you have to play through these god awful cookie cutter dungeons to fight some of the best bosses in the game.

Most disappointing game ever for me. I practically bought a PS4 just for this & the game lasted me two weeks & only 4 chatacters. It's so bad I want to scream. Unbelievably disappointed with this game

50 is NOT a Hard Cap. Holy shit, this bad information must stop spreading.

26-50 is a very minor dip in stats per point and you still get a shitload of stats. Then it softcaps at 50 with severe diminishing returns. A Hard Cap means you stop getting stats period and the only hard cap, with one exception, is level 99 on Stats. You still get stats from 51-99 it's just very small.

The exception being Endurance which hardcaps Stamina gains at 40, though you still get Defense stat gains post 40.

Soft Cap = severe diminishing returns on stat gains, but you still gain a small amount of stats per level.

Hard Cap = stat gains completely stop. This only happens at level 99 for most stats and 40 Endurance for Stamina.

For weapons where Scaling is equal or roughly equal you want to level both Strength and Skill to 25 before going past that to 50, sure, but it's not a big difference. For levels with a big gap in scaling going all the way to 50 in your main stat is better, though you still want both at 50.

Hunters axe has been my go-to on my second character, but been playing around with the Stake Driver as a secondary/backup weapon. Mixed feelings on it - the primed R2 is pretty devastating, but having a hard time pulling it off consistently enough to feel useful rather than novel.

Damn, that's too bad. Thats a very rare response to this game.

Yeah, well we're talking about the bosses haha. Nobody's gonna come on here to say they one-shot a dog or something. It's pretty easy to understand it from the context.

The loaded r2 attack needs to be a tiny lick faster. A parry stun into r2 is just enough to set it off on some enemies, the others swing too fast and knock you out of it.

The Chalice dungeons are indeed terrible, but the rest of the game is so good that I can forgive their shittiness.

I was hoping Chalice would be more like Sen's fortress but it's like only small portions have any major traps. the rest is just mobs of tough enemies. those stupid ass bell maidens are the worst.

I've seen true one shots of bosses in speed runs of soul games. I guess that would be a two-shot. Or wait... Plenty of action games have OP moves that one-shot bosses as well. It has always been a concise term.

Anyway, the context is typically understood. But more like damn kids and dat damn wrong slang. Yell at cloud, etc...

Just run, hold O and try to do a half circle as you're running.

Guess I need to get in that ass and stop trying to play it straight.

Maybe I'm weird or haven't done enough
well I am weird but that goes without saying
But Chalice Dungeons are fun to me so far. Maybe because I played with an IRL friend and I love to coop in this game as much as I can. I only completed the first level and part of the 2nd level but it's cool. I do hate how we have to do each part back and forth to progress but oh well. I wish we could just join each other's game's easier than putting pw in and ringing bells all the time.

I haven't played around with the Rifle Spear too much, but the two handed R2 charge attack is fun to use.

The weapon in that area you're going to check out isn't a Skill weapon :(

As a Skill build, I'm still using the Cane, with Blades of Mercy as backup. Wish there were more Skill weapons in the game.

Ah shame :(

Dark Souls really spoiled me with all the dexterity weapons so I've been rolling with that stat ever since.

I like the Cane but it just doesn't deal enough damage. Great for long range but it just can't keep up. Couldn't do enough damage against the BSB so I had to switch it.

Oh well, hopefully I find a decent skill weapon soon.

Once you get to depth 4, you'll begin to despise them.

Is taking on
Dark Beast Paarl
recommended right now? I've made my way through the
Unseen Village
(which was hell) which I was warped to early on.

- I'm LVL 30 with an emphasis in skill, vitality and endurance.
- Threaded Cane +4
- Killed
Cleric Beast, Father G, Blood-Starved Beast and Vicar Amelia

Should I get this over with before I move on to the woods or am I too early? Thoughts?

4 characters in 2 weeks? Yeah, so bad you should scream.

Ok. Just help someone with Logarius. Who was the other person needing help? Please use beckoning bell with the OP gaf password.

Should do
Hemwick Charnel Lane first before woods. It's on the left of the grand cathedral.

An optional one, yes. The Van Dammes have a notable weakness. When you do about 20-25+% damage to them, they take a few moments to go berserk and then really go to town on your ass. While they buff themselves, it is quite easy to slip behind then and land a charge attack + Viceral on their asses.
thanks for the tip it helped a lot

I am not a pro by far but:

Did you beat the 3 hunters in that area already? They were pretty hard for me. I wish I came here after the Woods and before the next area. I'd say just go to Hemwick Charnel Lane, then the Woods, then back to here but that's just with me barely being at the Unseen Village now at L71.
