Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

Huh... just beat the BSB without using any health items after dying against it way too many times. Apparently attacking a bit then running away(as in most of the length of the area away) doesn't work well. This time I just dodged toward him and hit him 2 or 3 times from behind while he was in the attack animation and then he dodged away from me... well, like the rest of the game, that changes up pretty much everything that most games teach you.

I still can't believe that I died to
Celestial Emissery
on my first playthrough.

That's almost as shameful as dying to Pinwheel.

I've hit a huge wall on the run to T

eborn
, I've died so many times it's frustrating. I want to play but need a break from this place, what other stuff and areas can I go and explore at this point, anything optional open to me right now? I've done C

You can unlock a shortcut from the first "Yahar'gul Unseen Village" lantern. That will let you use an elevator entrance off to your right from that lantern. Ride down the elevator, and start pushing forward so you fall onto a roof half-way down.

From that roof, defeat or evade two dogs, then go forward and turn right into a building.

The building has a bath, get in it, click X and it will teleport you almost to the boss fight. Exit the room, run across the bridge, kill a madman and a bell maiden. Go down the ladder and you can run to the fog gate.

The entire run to the boss takes about 60 seconds if you use this method.

Should I tackle N
ightmare
F
rontier
and H
ypogean
G
aol
before R
om
?
And do I have to
become a beast at the top of the Byrgenwerth library
to continue the story?

I just beat the
shadows of Yharnam
, and I do want to do as much content as possible.

That's the exact run I was doing last night. Also when you reach the boss:
Take out the maidens on the second floor first, then just using plunging attacks for a bit. The health you get back attacking after the fall makes up for it. Then run to the second floor and repeat. Oil and fire work well on him too.

But past that I'm not ready for it yet. Missed a couple optional areas and time to go backtracking.

I got silly lucky. I literally rushed him and just nuked him with my blades of mercy. I would only let up to roll with the timing of the
fireballs
and the continue. 2 minutes, dead first try.

So... how does "beasthood" work? I haven't seen anything about it in my whole first playthrough. Now in NG+ I tried using those beast pellets, and I see some meter filling up slowly when I combo an enemy but I never managed to fill it completely.

So I guess I wonder:
1) How do you fill that meter fast enough, and
2) What happens when it does fill up, and
3) How is the "beasthood" stat tied to the whole thing, if at all?

Very confusing and obtuse. Typical obscure unexplained From mechanic, haha.

Ok I think I'm going to have to throw in the towel for getting the platinum. Beating this defiled chalice is going to be one massive pain. The first boss has given me more trouble than anything else in the game and I know the next 2, especially the 2nd of the 3 will be insanely harder by comparison.

These dungeons aren't just hard, they're SL1 run types of hard. I'd level up but it doesn't seem like even that's going to make a difference.

I haven't even looked at the Chalice dungeons. What's required for the plat, beating every dungeon? It's probably best to do that before starting NG+, or is the Chalice difficulty seperate from the main game?

Its seperste, doesnt scale with ng+

The True Ending is pretty easy to get, so you should go for it. Especially since you don't plan on playing NG+. Though frankly, NG+ is a lot easier than the first time through.

Hmm.. ok I thought I screwed up the true ending last night because I didn't find one of the NPCs, but I was ok once I found
the back entrance to the clinic and killed ioseka

depends on how drained I am beating all the final stuff. If not I'll youtube the other endings :P

Bless us with ass.

I love this game, but I really thought
There'd be a hidden mechanic or point in the game where I could transform into a variety of beasts -- so many things in the game point to it. I'm not feeling robbed or anything but I think it would've been pretty badass :(
Am I the only one who feels that way?

Well, a frustrating night has ended, with me still to defeat BSB, and that's WITH help....I think my play style is just too gung-ho. About 10 times I've become a Roy Cropper....Only now I'm left with nothing...no Blood Vials, Molotovs....zero money .....nada 8(

Wait, you can summon an npc for bosses? I'm on
shadows
right now and I have no idea how I'm going to get through it. How/where can I summon?

Thanks for the response, I've already unlocked the shortcut. I'm just getting a bit tired of the cycle hehe, coupled with having to go back and grind for vials every time it's just burning me out. I've gone and looked up some areas I haven't visited yet, so I think I'll go work on them for now. Thanks though!

DLC maybe.

Man, Calice aren't fun at all. I'm digging in for the Plat, missing one last weapon, the rare gem and that last boss but it's a chore so far... And I'm only in the Pthumerian ones...

Ok so I just two shot Ebrietas, who people were saying was super hard. First playthrough, though Im a bit high level (80) maybe that was why.

Heres the video incase anyone wants to tell me if she looked bugged or something.

And another optional down!: https://youtu.be/rCvH46ziZe0

Where were you yesterday when I kept getting killed by the chest skeletons in the run up to TOR? I ragequit last night on TOR partly because of that. It's your fault cakely!

Thought the same thing happens when you invade people or something :/

I kept expecting this to be you killed it in 2 shots with the Cannon.. lol.

Also, weird.. It's hitboxes didn't really hit you much. They are very wide & large. Saw several times where you should have been hit and pushed across the stage, like I was until I finally finished. Also got lucky at no lasers (though my last battle had no lasers either luckily.)

haha I never noticed a ladder there. Instead I took the same route but then went the other way around the bridge past the beast and zombie crates.

Damn, I want real kills lol

Nice! That looks similar to how I fought her the first time. My second time fighting her, in a chalice dungeon, she behaved pretty much the same, except she did her charge attack way more often, but I was able to dodge/tank them okay. On one of my failed attempts (beat her on the third try in the chalice dungeon), she fired some lasers at me. The third try, I just did a bunch of charged R2s to stun her once she was around 50% health.

So I'm in New Game + and killing certain NPC hunters gives me
Blood Dregs. I know I can turn this into the Vileblood queen for leaderboard placement (yawn), but does she offer up any cool gear or prizes for turning in a certain amount?

Omg is it even possible to beat
gherman
?

Getting my ass handed to me big time at lvl 72 with ludwig +10. I suck so hard at parrying and I guess it shows now... I just want to finish the game but the fact that afterwards

there will be another fight since I consumed the cords

Really makes me want to quit the game. Progress has been pretty okay for the whole game but yeeesh did i hit a dead end.

just a gesture afaik

Not sure, prob not. You spent the majority of boss battle away from boss with quick attacks. I stayed close by constantly with 2H Ludwig's sword. So likely you were less likely to get hit by the weirdly huge hitboxes/
