Everyone's still playing with the chalice dungeons but I have absolutely zero interest in them, sadly. People sound frustrated with them more than anything else.

Because everyone is solo'ing everything

Chalice Dungeons were built with Co-Op in mind.

I've enjoyed my time with them. Created 3 so far and searched and loaded up someone elses. Co-Op is just plain fun in this game altogether though. I like the secret passages and little hidden stuff in the chalice dungeons. And like everything within this game, love the atmosphere.

Also quick question: I am at
Cainhaist(sp) Castle
but only level 61.... I think I am a little under level since the first enemy to appear just destroys me.

The first enemies there are the toughest in this area by far. Everything after that will be a cakewalk. (Except the boss. He is one of the hardest of the game)

what do you do for the majority of phase 1? he's so random with attacks that I can't figure it out.

Until the final phase you should only be aiming to hit his head, you can get a cheeky swipe in after a few other moves, but the primary focus should be on baiting attacks that leave the head open.

The last phase can take an extremely long time if your waiting for him to leave his head open, so i recommend waiting for his weird goeey spitty frenzy attack, running under him when he does that and then attacking the end of his tail till he jumps in the air, and then repeat.

People get frustrated cause the game puts up and harder challenge and they seem to just want a platinum trophy asap.

needs to go home. Can you not parry him or is my timing horribly off on him and him alone? Cause I really don't want this to be one of those bosses you have to kill one hit at a time.

Should I finish DaS1/2 before starting Bloodborne?
Nah this game is better than DaS1 and a stomach virus is better than DaS2

Sucks that there is no respec option. Replaying the game for the 4th time for skill/arcane build using the burial blade. Not looking forward to using the cane longterm again for 3rd time.

Ok so inserted the cursed droplet with 19.8% damage buff + 51 weapon durability decrease, every 2 slashes i lose a point in durability which seems a lot. Will stay with the one that increases my stamina usage by 2.6% the difference is impossible to see, get exactly the same amount of slashes.

Yeah I started there last night at 61 and it felt just right. But the boss keeps handing my ass to me so I started farming that first area, it's great for it. Especially since if one gets the best of you your echoes will be close by. ;)

Binding of Isaac was my favorite game last year so I like to think about the Chalice Dungeons as Souls + BoI, without the random powerups obviously. If the dungeons were released as a standalone game for $15 in some alternate universe where BB didn't exist I'd be all over it. I can definitely see why some people think they are boring though, especially when you compare the chalice dungeon level design to what was in the actual game.

From definitely needs to work out multiplayer in these dungeons. Right now it is a huge chore.

This is kinda what I was talking about before. Boss took me...4 tries? Maybe 6 I forget.

Yet SoY gives me 43. Dunno how this keeps happening to me.

Are Gems random in Chalice dungeons or are there prefixed rewards/drops/treasure in them?

I don't know for sure, but I would guess they are all random, but I haven't paid close enough attention and haven't run the same ones multiple times to confirm. The ones that are in chests might not be random, but guessing they are too, at least the stats probably are, even if the base gem is the same.

Should I just run? I mean even with Ludwig they just push through my attack and keep whacking me around... but the sword is only a +6...

Almost positive you cannot parry him, if you hit his head enough with regular attacks you can probably get 2 viscerals in before he goes super sayian 3 err phase 3, then it gets really fun. He just gets so relentless, if I didn't hate him so much I would think he is cool boss.

You can try to fight them if you really want but they are deadly, just be prepared to die some if you decide to fight them. I've had the best luck with using the 2h version of Ludwig's, dodging an attach of theirs and mashing r1 till they die (it seems to stun them enough as long as you dodge the initial attack). when I tried to do an R2 they would just jump on me and nail me.

Lool, I just killed the first W
itch
and now one of her mobs spawns in front of me near a lamp. I'm thinking it's the same kind of easy enemy that's slow as shit. Turns out it learned some new moves and killed me in an instant.

Have you guys check Oroboro's PVP video in Cainhurst?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90_QYCpbaOo

Goddamn, he had some of most fast pace intense fights ever.

Despite people complaining about chugging blood I can see why From decided to have invaders heal. Invaders have their health reduced not to mention they have to go against at least 2 guys, the combat is also faster pace which puts severe disadvantage to invaders and you need blood vials to heal for blood bullets. Because the combat is fast paced, people will just chug down vials even faster than grassing/estus'ing especially with the 20 limit which kinda solves the problem lol. Basically first to finish vials lose lol so git gud and don't get hit.

so i just found a key for the upper cathedral ward, do i need to return back here to advance the game?, or is it just a bonus area?

I'm done with this game. Probably never going to play it again. There is no reason to beat this game again. The lack of content & quality of content in this game is abysmal.

Chalice dungeons are the most half ass way of trying to add content to a game I've ever seen. I had to force myself to beat them all just so I could say I did everything in the game. They are excrutiatingly boring. Instead of building a beautiful robust world & putting these bosses in them, you have to play through these god awful cookie cutter dungeons to fight some of the best bosses in the game.

Most disappointing game ever for me. I practically bought a PS4 just for this & the game lasted me two weeks & only 4 chatacters. It's so bad I want to scream. Unbelievably disappointed with this game

This is in my top 5 games of all time, absolutely incredible game

To get to the chain gun hunter from the back to not make him hostile, do I need to
Go fight darkbeast paarl and use that shortcut to access yarnham from the back? Or is there an easier way? I'm on NG+ but I'm still confused about that path

Yes! Two randoms joined me and we killed VA after a long intense fight. Seriously its like shes taken out of Destiny with all that health she got.

Fighting
Darkbeast Paarl
was for me the easy way...

VA? probably one of the easiest bosses imo. you're gonna enjoy the next couple, hehe

I've not quite got that far yet, still on defiled personally but I think there are 4-5 layers but it's generally easier than the defiled by the sounds of it.

yea, as long as I have my full HP back, it shouldn't be such a big deal.

Thats because bosses have more health/defense when you coop and your weapons/stats ain't dealing enough damage to her. Destiny on the other hand.....

Yes, but that involves a lot of work
you have to go through most of the game to circle back around because you can't get kidnapped without killing Blood Starved Beast (killing BSB spawns the sack nappers)
.

one more dungeon after Defiled right? how many layers and how are the bosses?

Yup. 3 layers. Let's say the final one is
Ebrietas
:D

First I don't remember but second is an easy one:
Celestial Emissary
, alone...

In my game I'm gonna farm some Chalice Dungeons to get all weapon variants and top tier runes. Then I'll switch to DS2:SotFS.

Great Pthumeru?
3 layers and enemies are the same but seem much easier after Defiled Dungeon.
First boss - Pthumerian Descendant - parry him to death. It may take a few tries to get the hang of it, but parrying is the best advice. You can also try with fast weapons but you must dodge as crazy since he has deadly combos.
Second boss - Bloodletting Beast - advanced version of him. He may be the most difficult boss in Dungeons, but I suggest being close and always behind him. Dodge - hit - dodge - hit...
Third boss - Yharnam - Not that hard, just long. Do 1-2 hits then back away. Repeat. Also, kill her clones when they appear. They take just one hit to die, but do equally deadly attacks.

Remember, if you passed Defiled, you can do everything. :)

Edit: welp, it seems you didn't ask about Great Pthumeru. Oh well

you better not be shitting me. I don't wanna fight Eb again, lol

If you go straight to the 'final' dungeon to get the trophy (
Great Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice, that drops from the Defiled dungeon
), there's
3
layers.

Pthumerian Descendant on Layer One
Bloodletting Beast on Layer Two
Queen on Layer Three

Bloodletting Beast is quite a pain in the ass, Queen is the easiest

Rom is so boring. The run up is so cool and intriguing and then
spiders drop from the sky
and you think "oh shit!!" but... nothing happens. You just methodically chop away at things in the first part, second part requires a bit of sprinting but is largely the same and the third is ever so slightly more hectic but... I didn't like it. Took about 10 minutes and was so fucking boring. I'd actually ran out of vials before I fought him and I went to farm a couple of dozen more. Used about 4 in the fight. Was expecting an incredibly frustrating fight after reading this thread and other forums.

Pretty cool that I now know
where these portals are coming from
though... and spooky as fuck D:

I don't think so :(...been running lvl 5 chalices hoping it might pop up there, but I doubt it ,as I haven't heard of that happening and obviously haven't seen it.

I think that's pretty much killed my desire to continue with the game. Locking out chalice content unless you meet a goal that you're extremely likely to miss if you're not using a FAQ is terrible design.

thanks guys. BLB shouldn't be too hard for me since I beat him in a higher level and he wasn't too bad.

It was on ng+. I find most of the other bosses to be easier. Except Martyr. Damn him.

She had a ton of health playing alone too. Im pretty sure shes the boss with most health in the game.
