Iosekfa was hostile to me, I didn't kill her for the fun of it. I didn't kill the others, the beggar killed them, I didn't know it was him until it was too late.

My OCD commands me to. It won't be so bad, I know a decent chunk of the game now and what to do.

Other ending is better imo, miss a Shitty boss fight though

has become one of my least favourite bosses, and it's only because of the NG+ version. On NG I beat him in one try but after 5+ attempts on NG+ I have just given up until the end of my run. The reason? None of my deaths on that fight have felt fair in the slightest due to the absolutely abysmal camera and my weapon never actually touching his stupid spindly limbs.

Please don't tell me to not lock on or change camera auto adjust; I've done that and it hasn't helped me at all.

I took it all the way to +10. It is an amazingly versatile weapon.
It takes me 6-7 hits to kill those blind poisonous creatures and midget werewolves, un-upgraded. Which is just hassle, since I have to fight groups of these enemies in this area...

I'm trying to save blood stone shards for possible upgrade for future weapons. I just don't want to spend most of it on my starting weapon.

Well fuck my ass that's annoying.

Guess I'm starting the game again......

That is kind of shitty game design. I'm all for secrets but it could have still been a secret while having it impossible to inadvertently ruin.

It is easy to miss things in these games, yeah it sucks but it's expected. I missed a whole area on my first playthrough... missed the shortcut from
forbidden woods back to clinic.
But I done it on NG+ and got what I needed.

Ok I have cooled off and game the game a rest after yesterdays outburst. I am ok now >_>

oh on a side note....DO NOT play dark souls II after Bloodborne. Holy crap is it dated as hell in comparison.

I just beat Demons Souls again while playing Bloodborne. How does that one compare?

I think one of the reasons I had such an easy time on this boss was because I used cane. It pretty much automatically hits him nomatter where you are.

Playing NG again, and using Axe, and he was quite a bit tougher.

Nah, the gameplay feels stiff. Might just take some time to get used to, but that is how it felt when I got DS2 after Bloodborne.

It is stiff compared to BB but that wasn't the issue for me. I levelled adaptability until I had 105 agility and my iframes back and it plays a lot better but still not as fast obviously. I'd pick BB's combat any day but I still enjoy the souls games for what they are. Once the platinum for this has dropped I'll be clearing up DS2 all over again happily.

To be clear about the Umbilical Cords:

Alternate Hunters Dream
Somewhere in forbidden forest
Arianna
Wet nurse

?

No
I don't think there's one in the forest, I think the 4th one is from killing Iosefka, but you get there from the forest.

How much skill do you have, and did you put your best attack gems on it?

Sooooo. Any particularly useful strategies on G
ehrman
? I've gotten him below 50% health a few times now. What's the best point
to stagger him? During the forward roll obviously, but aside from that my luck seems to vary

There's no real difference between "starting" weapons and other weapons, aside from maybe Ludwig's, which seems to have somewhat excessive scaling compared to basically all other weapons for no particular reason I can discern.

There are only two weapons I know of with better Skill scaling than the cane, and neither really has the same degree of versatility. (Nor, for that matter, as much Strength scaling, which can be pretty important since you're probably going to want to start sliding into a Quality type build if you're doing NG+ or Chalice dungeons.) If you like using it, it's absolutely worth taking to the limit.

As a bonus, the chain mode of the cane makes the final Chalice boss completely laughable, and is enormously useful on the final Defiled Chalice boss. I wouldn't really recommend trying any of the harder to find weapons (the Wheel, Blades of Mercy, Beast Claws, etc.) on either of those bosses.

You get to Iosefka's clinic from a shortcut in the Forbidden Woods. You have to kill her after you've killed Rom to get the cord.

You sent someone who was
eating two unarmed people to a safe haven
. I pieced together what was going on and I was playing fully blind.

Can someone please explain to me how the Chalice Dungeons work?

I'm pretty sure I finished my first one... I put the Pthumeru Chalice down on a grave, got down to Layer 3 and killed W

L

on my first attempt (I found it really easy somehow).

What do I do now? I have two other chalices from my dungeon crawling. t's not explained at all.

I cant beat blood starved beast. Im tired of having to farm for fucking bullets and vials.

Seriously, im about to the point where im just gonna look up a guide. As it stands right now, im starting to hate this game. Its fucking lame as fuck that he can just jump across the level and attach to you and one shot you after you fight so carefully to widdle him down to nearly no health.

There are no fucking weapons that ive found that are worth a fuck.

All i can do right now is beat my head against a wall with this boss until i beat it or give up.

Everytime i sit down to play, i just think "great, i have to go farm souls to get money to buy bullets because ive used them all on one boss encounter". That thought process makes me not even want to play.

I dont get it. Im obviously doing something wrong. You can probably cheese this boss. But as someone who refuses to look at guides, im getting to the point where im about to just say fuck it and watch a YT video.

These past 2 weeks its been sucking the fun out of the game for me. I bought a ps4 to play this game and its not even fun anymore. I dont want to go grind for fucking bullets. I want a fair fucking fight.

.

Interesting!
Iosekfa was not hostile to me, I think she was on a table feeling nauseated but transcendent by the time I found her. You aren't confusing her for the blue dude are you? And as for the beggar, yeah I got full on Yurt'ed there. I figured out it was him after he'd killed everyone and left. Oh well. My next NG will go differently.

Hooooly shit, that chalice R
om
fight was way more of a pain in the ass than the main game one.

But the same general strategy still worked out in the end.

Burn that shit with FIRE.

Video incoming.

So any chalice that says root is a random one, the non root ones are fixed. The chalice difficulty is based on depths or by the name, regular chalice is for low levels, central ones are a bit harder, and lower are harder still. The easier dungeons give you the harder chalices. You just have to prepare another ritual for the next one down and keep going.

She is a pretty intense fight if you met her earlier.

He does an
R2 charge attack often that's easy to parry once you figure out the timing. But be careful, cause he also does the neck hook move a lot too. I just kepy parrying the shit out of him over and over and beating on him when I get the chance until he enrages. At this point, you need to watch out for his jump and scythe throw attack as that can one-hit-kill you easily. Try to run behind him if you're close enough to dodge it completely, or get as far away as possible to at least take less damage from that move if you get hit.

Right, cool, thanks guys.

So..

Get lady of pleasure into church
Get blood from nun FIRST
Goto forest, kill Rom
Kill woman in clinic.
That's then two Cords (from lady of pleasure and woman in clinic)

That all right? I already have 1 from alternate Hunters Dream.

Yep. You won't be able to get the umbilical cord from the lady of pleasure until after you kill Micolash.

I'm still fucking stuck on this at level 145. Bitch has like five one shot kill entire arena range attacks and it's super cheap.

Phase 1- Stay back out of range, wait for her to swipe 2 times she will lower her head for 3-5 seconds sprint in get 1 L2 with Ludwigs or R2 with Axe and dodge like crazy back out of range. And wait until she provides that opening again. At some point you will get an oportunity for a visceral attack dont miss it (It may come it phase 2 depending on your weapon)

Phase 2- Same stay back. Her arms will turn purple and glow when she does this dodge back at a 45 degree angle as soon as she hits the ground you a good 5 second window to do a R2 attack on her head. Again roll like crazy back once you get 1 hit in.

Phase 3- When she breaks of a set of limbs get behind her asap. Standing right under her tail and hit it. She will jump away from you. IMMEDIATELY get in the same spot and keep chipping away at the tail. It will take a while but I dont see how you can die on this phase unless you get overzealous.

A key thing to remember is you may need to change positions in Phase 1 and 2 if she walks to close to you (when you are in range at the back wall you need to switch sides. I always did this by sprinting left and being prepared to roll if she tried to swipe me.

Obviously you need to dodge the laser. If he jumps on you early roll through him (under his tail is always safe to heal) and not away. You should be able to survive getting pounced at full health but you might not be able to survive getting pounced and an arm swipe.

Either Co-op, level-up, or move on because it's an optional boss.

Basically, completing a Chalice dungeon (up to the last one, obviously) will grant you one or more Chalices as a result of beating the bosses. Most likely, one of these will be a "Root" Chalice; this creates a randomized dungeon, probably the one you're currently playing, and generally isn't for progression.

The second Chalice that you get generates the next "progression" dungeon. For example, the last boss of the first Chalice dungeon should give you the Chalice you need to create the dungeon you need to do next, and so on and so forth. However, the process does become slightly non-linear because some of the Chalices (like Isz) are from the normal game content, not the Chalice dungeons themselves; as a result, you can skip a lot of the process if you can get the necessary materials to start these dungeons. (Though, you'll probably need to run the intermediate dungeons to get the Ritual materials, anyway...)

Basically, you want to progress to the end of Isz, then the Defiled Pthumerian Chalice, and then the final Pthumerian Chalice that unlocks from the end of that. Make sure you create at least one dungeon that uses Offerings along the way (Fetid/Rotted/Cursed) if you want to be able to enter dungeons with those modifiers.

There's not much point to the intermediate dungeons other than to progress to the end dungeons. There's very, very little loot before Depth 5; don't be surprised if you walk away with a set of Beast Claws and some garbage gems to show for the entire trip through to the end of the Defiled Chalice.

TL;DR: Unless you're enjoying the Chalice dungeons, you might want to look up a step-by-step guide to burning through to Depth 5 Pthumerian dungeons ASAP. Otherwise, you're in for a grind.

I thought he was easier. Killed him on my 4th try or so compared to me 30th or so for the normal one. Helped that I knew how to avoid his spells for the most part after defeating him prior.

It's a peculiar-looking headstone in the area with the executioners outside of the Witch boss area. Don't be like me and look for an area called "Hemwick Crossroads" for hours...

If you go there before
Rom
she is hostile, after she sits on a table.

She drops a rune if you kill her as a hostile she drops an umbilical cord if you kill her on the table.
