GTA V PC Full Graphics Options Revealed

Quite a bit, MSAA is essentially sampling certain items on the screen at higher resolutions/multiple times then compressing them back down to get rid of jaggies. It's pretty VRAM intensive.

Who said these were 980s? Titans and Titan Blacks have 6gb of VRAM.

PC Gamer article stated that the setup was 2 x 980s.

IGN's article didn't mention anything. That's the info we have right now. The Titans could be an option though, you are right :)

Interesting; it's possible the screenshots came from a different rig than the one mentioned. That said, I think 980 Ti/whatever they decide to call the consumer-grade Titan X is likely to have 6gb of VRAM.

My 980s and their 4gb of VRAM weep just thinking about it.

Eh, your option of Titan Blacks makes more sense though, considering the performance difference, they could have had a few rigs with Titans instead of all the rigs with 980s :P

Yah. This game might make me move to 2x Titan Xs and a 4k monitor. Seems like the way to go for 4K gaming this year.

That said, I just hope it has good SLi support from the start.

I would'nt drop 2 large on 2 graphics card that are likely to be replaced pretty soon by 980Ti with very close performance, but hey, that's me :P My 970 and GSync monitor should keep me comfortable for a while.

Eh, it'll all depend on how much VRAM the consumer version gets. 8gb would make it OK for current and future 4K, and means people can save ~$600 on two.

6gb VRAM and it'll be cutting it way too close for comfort on 4K games (with reports of GTA V using up to 5gb in 4K).

We'll see. No moves to be made until later this year.

People still worry about VRAM usage in games?

How does GTA PC play with a mouse/kb? This will be my first time playing a GTA on PC.

The graphics options look excellent. Can't wait to see how this looks close to maxed with my 970. We'll see how my 2500k @ 4.0 ghz does, I'll OC further if need be.

Go for it. Almost all 2500k's reach 4.5Ghz with a good air cooler.

On point: I bought this for both ps3 and ps4, but finished neither. I don't think open world games are for me. :/ No matter, will probably buy this one too..

Looking forward to it, I expect to be as wowed as I was when I went from the 360 version of GTA IV to the pc version some years later (and noticing the difference,in the frame rate not to mention how cleaner the graphics were). I havn't played V since October/November 2013 (stopped not long after completing the story missions and then playing the stock market).

Yea, well.. Few of us do own a 970, lol

Well...it's easy not to worry when you have 12gb of VRAM :)

Easy for you to say :P

The screenshots in question are probably taken running on their Large Pixel Collider which has GTX Titans (Blacks I think) in it.

Bro, your gigs are big

this fucking guy

If I had spent 2 Gs on my graphics card(s), I would hope that I wouldn't have to worry about such things.

ok sry love you all lol

Waited since its first release on 360/PS3 for the PC version. My 970 should make it look pretty nice at 1080p. Pumped.

Oops sorry, probably the most important part. Was gonna try for 3200x1800 downsampling. So a lot of AA won't be that important, so I was thinking FXAA for that.

Yah, you might have to give up some AA and a few of the fancier shadows/details to pull off that res, even at 30. But of course this will all depend on how well optimized the game is and any relevant driver releases from the likes of AMD/nVidia.

You crazy people need to pick a thread already.

I like the extensive options, though I don't think they're indicative of a well-performing port. Just look at GTA IV, or several Ubisoft games.

There's no reason to have a separate refresh rate section if it is not going to allow you to cap it.

Tons of games display the refresh rate in the options. It cycles through all the refresh rates your monitor currently has available. When you change it, it updates the resolution option with the available resolutions in that specific refresh rate. It's the same as changing the aspect ratio.

Far Cry 4 does this, for example. It's not an FPS cap. That's usually labeled as "FPS cap."

Hmmm 42 dollar trade in for the ps4 version at BB and 48 for the pc version with 10 dollars in rz points back. (all with gcu). *drives to best buy now*

Got my 970 yesterday. Can't wait to fill up my 4* gb of vram on this bad boy

So according to pcgamesn.com the recommended specs should manage 1080p and meet 60fps at medium settings.
I wonder if the same rig with a GTX 770 isntead of the 660 would manage to handle 1080p at high.
