I disagree with
Darkbeast Paarl
... I killed him with less than 1 minute without take any hit just pressing R1 lol

He is very easy if you maintain the stunlock, very very hard if you cant. That said it is easy to keep him stunlocked.

I actually died to him on NG+ once because I kept missing attacks and then running out of stanima before I stun locked him. It was a mess. That said I cleaned up my act the 2nd go around and he was dead in a minute.

Unseen Village Question -
do the Bell Maidens stay dead after you kill them?

Nope, which is a silly design decision IMO.

It's not even that much of a problem, it just gets in the way of exploration. It was the only area in the entire game that I ended up running past enemies on my first playthrough. Up until then, even after dying and everything respawning, it was fun to kill everything again, but fuck that place. If I die somewhere, I'll just sprint back there.

Of course, now I sprint everywhere, but I like to take my time on my first playthrough (took me 69 hours)

Beat VA earlier today. I stacked up on blood vials, molotov's, and quicksilver bullets for that fire weapon. I first studied her moves for a few rounds until I was ready. I laced her ass up with fire when i got close and some attacks with my axe. Laced her ass up with molotov's when I was far. When her health got low my heart was pounding like crazy. I was scared as fuck. lol. I tried not to give her a chance to heal. I nearly died when she had an inch of life left. Slayed her and a huge relief of energy left my body. Heart still pounding.

Felt good!

I've been playing for 35 hours so far. Do I suck? :/.....VA was my 4th boss.

Thread moves so fast.

help with chalice dungeon boss
Watch Dog of The Old Lords

I suppose you're talking about the Defiled version. I spent 4 days on him and didn't come up with any killer strat. At first I was hugging him on the side but that didn't work out, he's got too many moves with weird timings at close range.

I found the best strat to be standing in front of him at mid-range, baiting for his swipe attacks, and just L2 (or whatever your long-range fierce attack is) the head when it was coming back. Rinse and repeat for 7-9 minutes basically, dodging the breathes and the charges.

I got my kill a few hours ago with no vials left, shaking like crazy. Definitely the toughest fight I've had in the game.

Vicar Amelia
is one of the easiest boss in the game too.

Yeah, I hear that often. Not sure mental block I had with VA but it took me more attempts than any other fight in the game.

How do you summon him for CB?

Edit: Found a vid on it. Gascoigne looks BOSS. Super intimidating even as a friendly summon.

yeah, but he hits like a first grader.
4th boss kill down!
VA took two tries, damn near failed it. Ran out of bloodvials, was down to one healing mist, and my fire buff just wore out. Saw she was almost dead though, and just yolod the last few hits trying to bring her down.

So, whos next? I assume its
Darkbeast P
but i'm not sure.
that boss is optional.

next area is forbidden woods.

Yeah, same. With me, it was doing the charge R2 on his face when his chin comes back after he swipes his head (with Ludwig).

Don't, I repeat, DON'T get hit by charges, ever. Those are always instakill.

I thought the 3rd boss in the defiled chalice was harder....

It all depends on level and luck. I lost to VA the most probably, but when I beat her I wasn't that much over leveled but beat her within 50 seconds and with only being hit once. I kept stunlocking her with fire paper.

Darkbeast Paarl
killed me quite a bit at level 50 still. At 55 I smoked him quickly. He seems to be a carbon copy of VA. Stunlock him or have a hard time.

Emissary
was by far the easiest for me. Those guys were a joke and he himself died after 2 hammer blows. He was a one shot, almost literal.

In terms of mechanics, I think
Emissary
is the easiest. And then
Mergo
and the
Witches
. They aren't really unpredictable and not erratic.
Mergo
does a few moves and has no ranged stuff at all (at least it seems so), once I figured her out I just slashed a few times after her combo was done and repeat until death.

At the end game and I have a question about the forced NG+

After I beat the game, do I still keep all my chalice dungeon items? My brother and I have been playing together through Chalice dungeons and we beat the first one together. I don't want to have to redo that dungeon if I end up on NG+.

Do the three shotguns from the beginning (those for 1600, 1700 and 3000) have different speeds in case of stunning the enemies? Or is this just my imagination?

wait til you fight the guy in the Defiled Chalice
(evil laugh)

that's the one :(

Thanks will try. I've dodging, going in for a hit and repeating... But once he gets to a certain amount of health my hit and run strat fails to work thanks to a new third attack he performs. I'm farming echos to buy some health now :(

Chalice stuff is completely independent from story. It won't even scale in damage with NG+.

Chalice progress carries over. Dont worry about that

Had a good time tonight. Pissing about after beating BSB earlier. Ran around UV for a spell just picking up any items I could before I was slain...picked a lot as it happens. A couple of runes for when I defeat The Witches. And now have some Gascoigne attire 8). Managed to get my weapon to +4. My level is now 41. Seems I've a few options, where should I be going next? I did go through the door that opens in CW after you beat BSB, I went in the circular tower, got to the top but the door was locked.

Can't worry about completion time. It's a little behind, but not by much :D
Yeah, finally overcoming that obstacle is a thrill. Congratulations! That boss was pretty hard for me too. Kept trying to blind me with all that toilet paper.

Nothing changes on the chalice side of things. Feel free to do as you wish.

Also, should I be looking at using new weapons? Still using what I choose from the start. I see now there are some Ludvig weapons. I've plenty of Shards to upgrade.

I need some help with Defiled Chalice if anyone is feeling charitable. I'm level 95 at the moment, but I can level some if need be. PSN is DarknessTear

You fight werewolves and vampires and Jeff Goldblum and Cthulhu.

Well, fuck.

lol, yeah you'll probably like it HP.

But is it made by EA?

Man, werewolves are the tip of the iceberg. Going by your username, you're gonna love where this game goes.

Please tell me it's coming to PC like next year or something.

Holy shit
Celestial Emmisary
was an easy fight. Although my game like crashed after killing him. Hope it didn't mess anything up.

lol I was surprised by how easy he was. I was being super cautious my first time fighting him and then I hit him like twice and half his health is gone so it was like, "oh shit cakewalk" lol

So...
Rom
. What's the best strategy there?

Kill the spiders? Don't kill the spiders? How do I dodge his ice falling attack successfully?

FYI I'm using the Cane and the
Ludwig's Holy Blade
, if that helps.

Yep, especially with all that creepy ass music leading up to it. Oh well, the journey and all that :P

Oh and my game's just fine thankfully, the crash was weird tho.

Kill the spiders at the beginning since Rom won't actually fight back. Once they're dead lay into him as long as possible until he teleports. Now he'll start attacking you at range, so ignore the spiders and roll next to him and lay into him quickly. Rinse and repeat.

I didn't kill a single
spider.
. I manuevered them out of the way to form a path and ran in to get some hits in. He's an easy fight once you learn to be a little patient.

Killing the
spiders is very risky. Lots of health and each oen can fuck you up. Although, once you kill one, it doesn't respawn

I just found a little patience, running around to find the opening the best for me.

Man, the
Blood-starved Beast
is just absolutely impossible to me. I don't think I've had this much trouble with a fight since Artorias in Dark Souls. I've been stuck here for three nights in a row now and I've not made an inch of progress. The first two-thirds of his health are easy as hell, just no problem at all, but when he gets in to that final part, I just have zero chance to even hit him once. I've used the summon outside the gate, but he's no help. I don't have PS+ and I'm not gonna get it (waste of money imo), so summoning is out of the question. The constant grinding for blood vials don't really help making this a fun fight for me. I miss Estus Flasks, at least they had the decency to refill after you died.

Oh well, I'm giving up for now, gonna waste another night tomorrow...

buy some of the pungent blood cocktails from the insight vendor or blood echoes vendor. toss one in the third phase he will ignore you & take 2 swipes at it before coming back after you, you can get a decent amount of dmg on it while its not even interested in you. (cocktails work in all phases)

When I first started playing BB I missed Estus and thought it was a mistake, but now I think with the way BB was designed, they made the right choice.
I just want to say I agree with this. Bloodborne is a horror RPG, and having automatically refilled potions would take away the element of horror.

their collective ass
Yeah the fextra wiki is really not very good. Wikidot might have a bit less content so far but it's more reliable.

I just lost 30k+ souls while trying to get out of Blighttown (on a character who that represents 5+ levels for). This represents a series of poor decisions on my part, but I think the automatic lamps after boss kills are a really nice change.
I have bad news for you...
there's a bonfire after Quelaag xD

Go check the store guys, new free PS PLUS Bloodborne theme!
Where? Don't see it at all.

Final boss spoilers

I normally don't summon, but I summoned for NG++. Everyone tends to die in one hit on NG++ too, because OH SHIT THIS IS NG++.

Anyway,

Fuck yeah, I summoned a guy for NG++ Gehrman and Moon Presence. He was really helpful, got me through Gehrman and then he died to the 1 HP attack on Moon Presence. I was able to beat the fight first try thanks to his sacrifice.

The only thing I have left is to finish the final Chalice Dungeon, then I've got my platinum. Time to beat the shit out of
The Queen.

When summoning on NG+ etc do the available players also have to be on NG+?
