Burial Blade get! Man that thing looks awesome. Decent moveset, too. Finally a reason to switch out the ol' cane.

All that's left for me now is going through the chalice dungeons but I'll have to farm materials first I guess. Where do I get Bone Mould(2)?

Great game, but didn't expect to already feel like I'm through with it this shortly after release. Real shame that there isn't much replayability.

Yah, I know what you mean. I'm in NG+ but I don't really feel much of an impulse to keep playing, unlike with the Souls games. Even with the addition of chalice dungeons, it's kind of meh.

NG+ doesn't do it for me, personally. Bloodborne doesn't have many features that explicitly enhance replay value, though I think the game is inherently replayable due to its constant sense of control, build/weapon options, and of course its quality. Reminds me a bit of RE4 in that sense: the infinite rocket launcher and Chicago Typewriter trivialize the game to the point where I mostly ignore them, but I've still beaten it upwards of 20 times across various platforms just because it's so damn smooth (no forced walk/unskippable cutscenes/etc) and fun. Plus, the weapon variety (Handgun vs Red9 vs Blacktail, etc) is just diverse enough to keep me playing, even if it doesn't completely change the game.

Have you done chalice dungeons? They're not for everyone, but honestly I thought I was completely done with the game, turns out I still have a ton to do.

I don't even know what is hitting me half the time in the o
ne reborn
:(. Not liking this guy at all right especially since I have to go through the same boring charade at the beginning of the fight

So I really could use a better HP rune, and check out some document listing chalice dungeons that have the clockwise metamorphosis rune... and it turns out I need to beat the dungeon in which I really need that rune for. Welp. Thanks Obama.

Madafuckin Henryk has left his spot. What the hell... I was just on my way to finally beating him... Hate these bugs.

I was confused at first aswell, then I looked up. Accidently.

Bloodtinge is the only stat I haven't leveled on my character that is doing everything, but I feel like I should just over level even more to have something new to play with in NG++. The Chitktage is pretty late game and I don't know what I would use in the meantime on a new character.

Easily my favorite screenshot. Shame about the quality of this upload.

Holy shit. Perhaps playing drunk has unlocked some kind of superpower but I just beat
Amygdala, pluthermiam descendant, and bloodletting beast
all in one go. GEET GOOD(drunk).

Bloodborne definitely has some replay value, especially when compared to most games. But the weapons, armor, and even the stat system are all a lot less open-ended and a lot more arcadey. That's not something I expected after 3 games that encourage so much creativity and variety.

Even if MP connectivity actually worked, there wouldn't be enough variety to keep things fresh and interesting for too long.

It looks a lot like they intentionally focused less on PvP as the end-game and instead focused on PvE with chalice dungeons, but I can't imagine there are gonna be many people who are still grinding for cursed gems or whatever in a few months. Chalice dungeons aren't bad, but I don't expect many are gonna think they're great either.

Great game. Better SP than DkS2 IMO. But I also played DkS2 for like 500 hours because so much care was put into the PvP in that game (I mean except soul memory. That shit is super whack.). I don't think I'm gonna go too far past 100 with Bloodborne.

Do you guys suggest buying all the starter weapons? I've only been using the saw cleaver and digging it, but wasn't sure if having everything was a necessity.

So anything I might've missed? I'm at the last boss and want to do "everything" before taking care of that part.

I've been to Upper Cathedral Ward including the boss after you break the window and Cainhurst Castle. Anything else you guys can think of that's easy to miss?

I would because you need all the weapons to get a trophy and they're fun to try. But I really like the Saw Cleaver myself and haven't had any reason to switch it out :). I got mine to +10 and I feel unstoppable.

Thanks guys.

You can play around with them but I'd focus most of your time with one, and upgrading it. Try Ludwigs Holy Blade if you find it ;)

You can actually interrupt the
Phase 2 for bosses like Logarius and MWN by backstabbing
. So at least one of those might have been skill :p

Logarius still switches to his 2nd phase moveset even if you backstrike and visceral him during his power-up.

I also had a run today where he switched to his 2nd phase without ever powering up. It was similar to being hit by a train that is on fire.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm really enjoying just upgrading the shit out of the cleaver, but I'll stop being cheap and give everything a whirl.

Yeah he does switch his phase but backstabbing him allows you to parry him in his second phase (normally you can't)

Burial Blade has a great moveset but the biggest thing I don't hear people talk about is the crazy regain on It. It seems certain weapons have bigger or smaller regain coefficients and BB's is giant.

Still prefer Cane over BB because BB has split damage, which is kind of balls and keeps you from being able to buff it, where as the Cane, on top of being the preferred weapon of native Swaghili speakers around the world, can be buffed to do bonus damage to any enemy type and with any element.

Everything hard caps at 99. I've 50 is good for everything not endurance.
Vitality seems to have diminishing returns at 50. Prior to 50 Vitality, it increased the stat by 20+ with each level, but at lv. 50 onwards, it seems to only increase like 5-10 points. :-\

Why does the Kirkhammer R2 deal consistently less damage than the R1?

Is it like DS2's Halberd where you had to hit the enemy in just the right way for full damage? If so, why does the R1 not seem to be effected by that?

I'm currently at lv. 100 with a +10 Hunter's Axe. I have 50 in Vitality, 40 in Endurance, and something like 34 in Strength. When does Strength soft cap/hard cap?

You'll want to take strength to 50 ASAP. After that I'd start pumping skill since the axe will get some attack from it. Your endurance should be fine; hell, 25ish endurance is probably enough for most situations. Dodging is pretty cheap in Bloodborne.

I don't know if there's a sweet spot but I have noticed that a non-charged R2 does rather pitiful damage while a full charge does crazy good damage.

To each his own, but I'm already close to 200 hours, & I haven't even finished the main chalice dungeons, let alone the community made ones. & the PvP is finally fun after they got rid of the lagstab from the previous games. The bloodgems also add far more variety than just re-skinned weapons that were available in the previous games.

It seems that the people that are saying Bloodborne has no replay value haven't gone deep into the game at all, Bloodborne doesn't reskin weapons for you & call it variety, it gives you blood gems that allow you to make each weapon the way you want it, the replayablity in Bloodborne is far more "hidden" & deep within the game than the previous games. Instead of giving you 7 sword with slightly different textures, it gives you one with 3 customization slots that allow you to make that sword have more functions than just 7 reskinned swords would usually do.

Uhh yeah.... sooo.....
What the fuck is up with Bloodletting Beast in the Chalice Dungeon? I'm level 120 with 1500 health and it takes me down to a sliver of health in a single hit. Really?

killed it on first try, level 100. Try not to lock on and hit it's legs, maybe that helps.

Oh boy, just had my first fight against the
blood starved beast.
Very quickly went from total confidence I would win my first try to fucking going crazy over
the constant poisoning.

I had a great 10-15 minutes just now. Basically I took down the 3
hunters
in U
nseen Village
without cheese only using a single blood vial and then stumbled upon D
arkbeast
P
aarl
whom I was able to defeat on my first try, too.
Feels rewarding.
