So after you beat
Rom
and go to the
Unseen Village
, I found a room that had a treasure chest behind 4 gated walls. It was in the area before where the
giant monster thing shoots a laser at you (basically before the second lamp in the Unseen Village).
If anyone knows where I'm talking about, how do I get to that treasure? The room has a respawning big monster (the ones who drop vials) and a respawning guy in a wheel chair who shoots at you.

I was wondering this too. Stumped me when I was there last night ao I moved on.

Got my blood rock, yay.

I got my 2nd one last night from a Chalice root. Now Ludwig's and Cane are +10. I will use the one from NG+ to get either my Cannon or Schythe to +10, then will try to get another Blood Rock from Chalice. Once I get all 4 of those to +10, I should be set. I dont think I will have enough chunks to take it much further as I have never found a chunk in Chalices and the game only gives you enough to take 2 weapon to +9 and 1 more to +8 without having to farm enenmies that give them as very rare drops.

You can only access it from the top floor.

In the area with the laser, drop down below on a ledge. There should be an opening there. Go insinde, and drop down into the cage.

gave up trying to beat the final boss today

farming vials sucks
grind
in middle loft by equipping 2 highest moon runes and an heir rune (as high as you got) and run up the stairs and go left. Kill everything between the initial 2 enemies and the group of 4 or so ahead of em. In between there is 3 big hogs. Not only will you get a shitton of echoes each run you'll get a shitton of vials. And it's an easy fast run if you bold hunters mark out of it each time.

You'll level up a shitton and have a shitton of vials. GG.

Before the laser area with many women, there's a open in the fence you can drop down. It's the upper cathedral key.

Oh thanks everyone! :D I'll go check that out soon. I was stumped as well Orth, lol.

usually only takes me 10 minutes to get good amount of vials.. Tomb of Oedon -> run back towards the bridge where the flaming boulder is -> 3 or 4 vials from the beast men + 2 more from the giant dude + random amount of vials from the villagers -> Take the elevator up -> 4 vials from the big dudes -> run up towards werewolves (4+ vials) -> run towards Cleric Beast area (2 vials from big dude) -> teleport to Hunter's Dream.. Rinse and Repeat.

A possibly easier (and definitely safer) way is to go the
Lecture Hall, first floor. There's a ton of enemies in a classroom. Aggro them all and stand outside the doorway. Easy pickings. With two moon runes equipped, I get 20k in about a minute. Those enemies usually drop 3 bullets each, so you're also stocking up on those. Then use a Bold Hunter's Mark to reset back to the lamp and repeat.

Drop down from the area with the
witches right before the bridge of laser doom. It's a super important item actually.

Edit: Didn't see how late I was to this oops lol.

Since I have no idea what to do now after killing A
mygdala
and P
aarl
, I'm going to attempt my first Chalice dungeon. Wish me luck!

Hell yeah, joined the Platinum Club. Ended up doing all my Chalice shit by myself, even though I tried summoning.

My dude even looks boss as fuck with one foot on a rock.

Spoiler for final Chalice boss trophy:

welcome to the club, hero hunter ! Major props to you. Nice end screen too

yep I use that for 50-70, I used the pigs before
Mergo
for 70-100. I get over 90k from each run and like 15 vials+.

Holy Christ, any tips for the Unseen Village?

I just got here and the difficulty spike is INSANE. I can't even get past the first set of enemies on the steps!

Ok how many of you had that spectator bug where after you die in a boss fight you are stuck in spectator mode and are forces to quit the app? Had it happen for the third time now. Funny thing is, all enemies I killed on the way to the boss before stay dead, so I'm not sure if the bug is a bad thing lol.

I bolted the hell out of there first time around :P

Then later came back to trash and explore.

Run pass everything to next lamp. Or, run to the ringing bell lady and kill her so monsters down respawn. Then, kill monsters. Repeat to next area.

There is a woman for each group kind of Buffing them with the bells. But yeah they are much tougher and will reincarnate if you don't eliminate the bell woman for that group.

Same strategy as the usual enemies, they will just take longer to kill. There is a group of 3 enemies in one section, a hunchback dude, a rifleman, and a sword user. The bell woman is kind of hidden to the left of the stairs right alongside the wall. Drop down and kill her first and then take on those other 3.

Good luck!
The first dungeon should be really easy though
The Chalice Dungeon doesn't scale, so you'll probably be overleveled and will wreck shit

But the later ones are a pain. I loved the challenge provided by them.

Fuck Watchdog of the Old Lords. Got him down to 15-20% health and he does a one-hit kill jump attack on me out of nowhere and my dodge was useless.

The camera keeps fucking me over when I get close to his legs and he turns. From Software really needs to improve the camera when locked on. Would it be so difficult to have it pan back and level out if your target is really close and above you so you're not looking up from the ground?
Same bullshit happened to me on my second try except I didn't even dodge since I was surprised. Thought I was going to win and he jumps and kill me. That really messed me up and I lost 7 times after that. I finally managed to get him though. Try and bait him to do the same attack pattern during the last phase so that stupid jump doesn't occur.

Are Chalice Dungeons independent of NG+?

I backed up my save right before the
Gehrman
fight so I could get both endings and found myself reloading that save so I could do all the Chalice Dungeon stuff before hitting NG+, but I also want the Burial Blade. So if the Chalice Dungeon difficulty is independent of which New Game you're on, I'll just go into NG+.

What say you, GAF?

Yes, Chalice Dungeon difficulty is independent of the main game's NG/NG+. Dungeon difficulty is denoted by its depth (Depth 1 = easiest, Depth 5 = most difficult).

like other's have said, run. there are a few things to grab there though. in particular when you run down the first set of the stairs, the room they lead into has a bolt damage gem behind the bars, and a room with a big chest and a gated off area with an important item that you have to jump down to from the area where the witches and
laser
are. I suggest getting to the next lamp and then coming back for the items at your leisure

Chalice Dungeon doesn't scale. Your progress will be saved and you can continue in NG+

It's independent. I'm doing it on NG+. I wasn't sure that I was going to bother so I just completed the game and then decided I'd try for plat.

What do you guys recon is the best level/progress to stop for (hopeful) DLC?
Im in the middle of NG+ and im afraid if i go too far the dlc will just become painfully difficult. Any experience from past Souls games?

Run through find the bell maidens (I think there are 3 of them). Once you kill the bell maidens the place is not bad at all. I would take the time to look for items because I recall finding a good bit of bloodstone chunks.

You can draw a couple up then cheese past the rest down the stairs :) Some spawn behind you so beware.

Could be everywhere, really :P

But I'm betting on the locked door from the Catherdral Area. The room with all the vases.

sorry I was easy to missunderstand :)
I meant where to stop level/ progression wise. Dont want dlc to be impossibly hard to beat :p

I raged hard today when I lost 10
insight
in
Upper Cathedral Ward
. I hate and fear those cheap brain sucking bastards so much.

Yeah, its pretty awful how the difficult spikes that sudden.
My hint is just to run until you reach the next lamp... then get prepared to kill 3 hunters at the same time.

Bell Maidens who spawn spiders are cunts because the spiders hit so freaking hard. And when they swarm you it's incredibly dangerous. I hate when there's two maidens in the chalice dungeons and additional enemies.

Any reason why my Ludwig Blade is suddenly deteriorating so fast? Does it have to do with the fact that I'm in the Ailing Loran? Seriously, after like half an hour it starts complaining that my weapon is at risk again? (it's at +10)
