Just finished the game. Credits rolling. What a fucking ride! I also got the true ending and I sure as hell am heading right to the lore thread!
 
I don't know how to explain this ,but sometimes a press circle to dodge and I get hit immediately by an enemy, but after that, my character does the dodge animation anyway. i'm dying a lot because of this lately. >(
 
Okay, I was just looking around and found
a woman in the Grand Cathedral that was hostile. I assume it was a hunter. I think it might be the same woman that was at the top of the sewer area. Anyway, killed her and now I've purchased the Blades of Mercy...Good skill weapon?
 
I did some number crunching with the help of some compadres and figured out how armor's stats stack (they don't just add up).

Minor spoilers for some armor names mechanical stuff. If it's a big faux pas to post links to other forums on GAF, I can just copy/paste and reformat the text a bit.

IDK if this is already well-known or not, but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere. Whether this is because nobody figured out how it works yet, or because it's just so obvious nobody ever bothered to mention it, I have no idea.

Backstab him if he goes into the power up pose (two handed Gandalf "you shall not pass" pose). He still does the new attacks but isn't buffed and bullets won't curve around him like he's out of MGS2.

Best strat post-buff is to keep a distance from him just outside of his weapon range and wait for him to come to you. If he does flying swords either shoot it, or lock off from Logarius and run a wide lap to the sword and hit it.

If he raises his scythe to shoulder level, shoot him. If he swings the sword first just back up, not worth it. If he goes to dive bomb dash forward through it as he flies toward you and hit his back. If he does the second dive where he tries to land right on top of you wait about a second or so while he's off screen and roll forward then immediately charge an R2. If done right you roll past his attack right behind him and get a free backstab.

Bait the dives, particularly the second dive. That's the secret.

Lol, is that why my bullets would sometime just not hit!? That explains so fucking much.

Can't believe I didn't realise you could interrupt his power up. :I I made the fight so much harder on myself.
 
Lol, Gatling Gun guy strafed right off the roof for me :).

Also, which stats should I be putting my Blood Echo into? Right now I have a +3 Axe, with my attack currently at 26. Is it true that adding stats beyond 25 nets you diminishing returns on gains? Also, my insight is sitting at 9, I have three madman's knowledge. should I up it beyond 10? What does that get me?
 
Ugh, looks like Elieen is bugged on my ng+ run, how irritating. She didn't spawn in her first spot, killed a father g, opened the central yard gate, wasn't at the cathedral ward, killed VA, still not at cathedral or tomb of O. Going to be ng++ before I even get another chance at the rune.

I found it easier to simply run. Try running perpendicular to where the boss is facing. Now,
if somebody has any advice on how to avoid it damn charge attack, that would be very helpful! I managed to beat by pure luck, since I struck her head enough times that she never really made it to the second phase of the fight before I finished her off, but that damn charge hits twice and pretty much kills me every time!

What do you mean? Input buffering was fine in Demon's Souls and Dark Souls after they patched it. It was really only Dark Souls 2 that had nonsensical input buffering.

So I've beaten all the bosses I possible can up to
Vicar Amelia
except for
Paarl
.

My beckoning bell no longer works. It's greyed out for no reason. Do I need to trigger something? Let that thing kill me so I can access the
Unseen Village
?

Do I need to buy the other two bells?

him in Phase 1, but I can't touch him once he goes super saiyan.

Nothing stuns him, he attacks so fast, and dodging doesn't seem to do anything.

Is there a way to stop
him from powering up?

I'm uploading the video of the low level kill on this guy my brother InfiniDragon mentioned. It'll be up in like 30 minutes, maybe you can glean some strats from visually seeing it.

Pretty sure you just need to advance on to the next area. Beckoning Bell won't work in an area where the boss has been killed, AFAIK.
 
Torn on keeping my character at 115 or just blowing it out to test everything.
Probably going to back up here and then blow it out.
Level 250 here I come!

I found it easy too. Though I was getting summoned by a friend that I was constantly one boss in front of for that boss and he was getting his ass handed to him by it. YMMV, basically. It's funny though, he'd always die before I took a single hit.

, I decide to take a stab at Hemwick Lane.
Witches
defeated on my first attempt. I can't believe how easy that was!! I decided to go right when facing the Grand Cathedral afterward, killed two hunters with relative ease, then found a castle guarded by two executioners. Went inside and there's a gate, but one of those invisible things ripped me up in the air and frenzied me to death.

I fucking love this game!!!!!
 
Is level 150 to high a level to be looking to co-op? I'm doing the co-op quicksearch on the Makeshift Altar and nothing ever happens.
 
Was wondering what level you guys were when getting your plat, since I imagine it's higher than just beating the game would take due to chalice stuff.
 
My friend recorded our attempts to do the first chalice dungeon cooperatively. What a mess that is, holy shit. The game as a whole is superb, but co-op in dungeons is a nightmare. It's a shame, I thought they were sort of meant for co-op, but I guess not. We aren't exactly experts, but when a game has co-op I don't think it should ever be so complicated, no matter how obtuse the game likes to be. Just silly.

i beat the first boss and am stumped , where the fuck do i go, i went every where, also fuck those wolves, harder than the boss haha

i bet i have to find that old person a safe place to advance

Only have to defeat one boss in the whole game to gain access to cainhurst if you use the glitch. Assuming you just haul ass the whole way ignoring all the enemies you could make it easily.
