Grand Theft Auto V Steam pre-load is live

So I just read that one can transfer his online character and progress from consoles to PC, but can the same be done with singleplayer progress? I don't care much for multiplayer but I'd love to transfer my saved game from the Xbox 360 to PC, anyone know if that's a possibility?

No. Even from Xbox to Xbox or PS3 to PS4 it was just the MP data because it is on Rockstar's servers anyway.

I'm getting nervous, I have a fully working (on all other services) 100Mb/s connection but with the disconnects and the current d/l speed of 16kb/s it'll take me around 28 more days to download this.
I've already been downloading for the last 72 hours, this shouldn't take more than an hour on a functional service.

Is Europe fucked somehow, or is it just me? I tried to cancel and restart once, but only lost progress through that.

I'm about halfway done after downloading for a few days lol.

Should be done by the time it releases at least.

Wonder if I leave RSC on if the game decrypt automatically when the timer hits 0. I'll still be at work when the game unlocks and certainly would be convenient to have it finish all it's decryption stuff before I reach home.

On PS3 there was a save game editor where you can max everything out. No doubt someone will create something similar for PC (or there'll be 100% save games to download somewhere like GTA IV had).

There'll most likely be mods and trainers available too, so single player progress is less important as it can be changed so easily via external tools.

Either there are connection issues somewhere or you got a bad server. I'm in Finland and it downloaded with speeds varying wildly between 100 KB/s and 8 MB/s on a 100 MB/s connection.

My pre-load is still chugging along after more than 3.5 days:

If my connection holds (I'll be shocked if it does), the bloody thing should be done by the time I get home from work.

wat?

I am screwed then because I have it on my 120GB SSD, how do I move it?

Did you pre-order on Steam or buy a Social Club key? The Social Club pre-load data isn't encrypted so you don't need twice the space as there's no unpacking to be done.

Move your depotcache folder (located in the steamapps folder) to a different drive and then drop a symbolic link to it from where you moved it so Steam doesn't know anything is amiss. Once the game has unpacked you can delete the link and move the folder back to its usual place.

Move your depotcache folder to a different drive -> Right-click it -> Select "Pick link source" -> Navigate back to steamapps -> right-click in the empty space -> Hover over "Drop as..." -> Select "Symbolic link".

Weird that you'd need double the space to unlock, considering it should just be a decryption of the files. Meh, guess I'll just temporarily move my New Vegas folder (47.5GB) to my HDD to make space.

Anyone downloading through the social club downloader? This thing is total crap.

Had it on overnight, came to look this morning and it had only done 18 gigs and was sat at 30kb/s, clearly bugged out half way through the night. So I paused it, closed the application, restarted it and now it's only done 1gb of 60 but is going at normal speed...

Is there no other way I can download this and dump the files in?

Never managed more than a couple of hours with a GTA game, but might try with this one on PC - easier to hide myself away in the spare room away from the kids. Will wait for it to come down price though - can't justify such a high price in something I might not click with and which I can't return or sell on.

RGSC client is kinda wonky. Left my PC unattended for a while and then came back to see 27KB/s. Restarted the client and then I noticed the total download size went from 60.04GB to 62.62GB. Just as it was about to finish it failed, and when I clicked 'Try Again' it resumed at 44GB of 55GB. The install directory got smaller, too, so I guess something got corrupted along the way. I think relaunching the client rather than pausing and resuming messes with it, so I'll play it safe by not closing it next time my speeds tank (which will probably be in a few minutes...)

I've downloaded the game 7 times now. RGSC just restarts the download every time it gets to the end. What a load of horse shit this thing is.

That´s what i´ve been doing since morning, pause and resume download. It downloads near my max connection (16 mb/s) then it tanks to 50 kb/s. Im just pausing and resuming every 10 min.

SteamDBbindicates they are still updating the game; it may be that more stuff actually is being added to your download. Not sure

Similar problem here. It seems to restart if my internet connection is interrupted or I pause/resume the download.

Mine just keeps restarting over and over, goes back to 20 gigs done. I've downloaded over 300 gigs with nothing to show for it so far. Man, I sure am glad that Rockstar decided to offer their own shitty-ass download platform for this game.

So i want to get the game on my SSD.

I got 120GB SSD (C:) and 500GB HDD (D:). I have preloaded Steam version of GTA V on my D: drive.

1. Its tuesday so i run the game for the first time to install it.
2. In windows i copy game folder to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common
3. I click Delete local content on Steam.
4. I click Install game on Steam.
5. I should be good to go now?

That sucks. I hope you don't have a cap.

I like it.

Think I'll just bite the bullet on Steam rather than do the whole Nuuvem thing. Too complex and the download speed sounds like an issue via RSC.

If any game has enough content to justify a $60 price tag, this is it.

First time playing, I've been holding out a long time for this!

Was at around 1.3 - 1.7mb/s. Took about…9 hours?
I am really hoping there isn't additional patches the second it goes live (There will be), or my data limit back home is going to commit suicide.
